  1. Would take him, all day. Massive upgrade on Longstaff and Willock.
  2. He’s the next superstar midfielder imo. Gotta get in early or they’ll soon be looking for ridiculous money (if they aren’t already).
  3. We don’t seem to be interested in these type of deals but if Grillitzch (sp?) is still going for free, he’d be a very solid cover for Bruno.
  4. That’s a very good signing at a really good fee.
  5. Also a similar reason to why we’d rather see Paqueta sign for Man City than West Ham. You’d rather keep those closest to you competitively at stasis; the top teams getting better doesn’t seem as much of a pressing concern.
  6. Doesn’t matter to them, they didn’t have the backing to fully compete anyway. It’s in their better interest, short-term, that a very wealthy mid-table team (like ourselves) doesn’t break through or is halted somewhat. Another big club just pushes every other team down a place, I guess.
  7. Yup. Closed-shop. It’s a disgrace that this is allowed to happen.
  8. This is all coming from that Talbot guy, who I’m not sure is even a journalist. Would be another massive statement of intent but don’t see it at all. I think a loan is the best we can expect before the window closes.
  9. A good (or, at this point even a serviceable PL quality) cm/cdm would cap off an amazing window. Not expecting much but someone like AMN on loan would be a very solid cover option for us.
  10. Onana particularly but Tarkowski (don’t @ me), McNeil, Maupay, Vinaigre and Coady were all decent to very good and inexpensive buys for their current level.
  11. Slightly different in the “size” and potential of both of the clubs, surely? Bournemouth- without trying to be too condescending- are a well-run club punching above their weight. Rafa could see we had more in us but lacked the ambition and desire to do better.
  12. It’s a much stronger league this season than it’s ever been, I do get that but as Bournemouth fans you don’t want your manager coming out with such defeatist comments game after game. They have a stronger squad than Eddie had and look what he achieved with a bit of positivity and bravery (caveat being the league wasn’t as strong back then). Understandable that Parker wanted more but when it became apparent that wasn’t forthcoming he should have publicly backed his squad to succeed. Reeks of salvaging his own reputation by getting his ready-made (albeit probably warranted) excuses in place.
  13. I’d take him. Solid enough cover for Rb, cm and Rm.
  14. Just let it go, man. Brute’s been adamant all summer that journalists know absolutely nothing. In his head he’s been vindicated and you’re pissing all over his celebratory “told you so”.
  15. Yeah, rooting for the lad after that really endearing interview but I doubt he makes it into any PL starting 11.

    João Pedro

Been really excited about this transfer. Slightly gutted that it’s seemingly off, think he’s gonna be a really special player in a few years time.
  17. Apologies in advance to @CaliMagbut this guy looks “super amped for some bomb fish tacos and fried avos brah. Yeah no for sure.”
  18. Most big European leagues have this with regards to the Premier League (perhaps understandably so). The Italian League is probably the worst for it. I mean, I get it; lower midtable PL teams now have the finances to seemingly outspend 99% of European clubs (and that’s including some very historically significant ones).
  19. Seems harsh if it was performance-based, but he was very publicly squaring up to the board for the lack of transfers. Understandable from both sides tbh.
  20. If true, that’d be an amazing price for a very solid squad option. Anyway, I was saving this barn-burner for my tell-all memoir but here goes. Couple of seasons ago I really was convinced his name was Leon and the match commentator had a bit of a stammer. Crazy.
  21. Makes no sense at all. We’re being weakened for little to no gain. Think Dubravka has acted like a bit of a dick here imo; plucked from obscurity and paid handsomely, only to get the hump when he’s been confronted with legitimate competition for the first time in years. Seems happy to force us into a worse negotiating position just to sit on a more glamorous bench. Maybe he doesn’t owe us anything and all that but I dunno, just doesn’t sit right with me.
