Because if he’s likely leaving, he probably isn’t fully there mentally. Better to give minutes to players who’ll be here next season and start planning ahead now. -

If Gordon is likely to be going I wouldn’t have him starting, or even getting on -
Probably his Champions League form this season which has sparked all the interest, because it definitely can’t be based on his Premier League form. Six league goals this season and six last season is underwhelming for a player with his talent. Even now, you never really feel confident he’s going to do something decisive when he gets around the box.

Fuckin stadium fireworks for a semi final win 😂😂
-
Mind he’s not class, he’s bang average at best, hence why Liverpool are probably open to letting him go. He’d certainly be no upgrade to what we currently have
-
Burn is 34 next week, how many more years can Howe get out of him 😂😂😂
-
could easily see him exploring his options over this nonsense. One of the best left backs in the league and he’s being frozen out to a centre back who is awful at left back
-
No other manager in this league is picking Burn over Hall at left back. It’s so fuckin annoying. Canny wait for Burn’s hilariously bad forward runs today

Murphy and Burn again 😂😂😂😂 -
I’d rather we were planning for next season, to be honest. Playing the likes of Burn and Murphy now doesn’t really make sense to me, neither should be anywhere near the first team at this stage. If anything, it could end up having a negative impact on Hall, because it sends the message that the manager doesn’t fully trust him.
-
At the minute, yeah. Burn really struggles at left back because he offers very little going forward, and tbh that ends up hurting the team more than giving Hall the chance to compete physically. Put it this way, there was no real reason for Burn to play the full 90 today. Howe could easily have brought Hall on for the last 20 minutes to give us a different attacking outlet and put Arsenal under a bit more pressure.
-
I don’t mind Burn sitting deep and holding position around the 18-yard box when we’re defending. But we really missed Hall going forward today, especially given how shaky Arsenal looked at times. There’s nothing more frustrating than seeing Burn push up trying to get involved in attack, because it’s clear his teammates don’t fully trust him in those situations. You could see it a few times when he tried to overlap Ramsey and was just ignored as a passing option. Mind I would say it’s also a bit concerning of Howe to favour Burn over Hall, who’s arguably one of the most exciting and effective left-backs in England right now. Classic Howe loyalty imo
-
Tbf you can see why Arsenal have been punished in recent weeks. Any half decent team with good options up top would prob have got something from that game today.
-
I disagree. We bossed the middle of the park but offered nowt, speculative balls in the box was about the best we could offer
-
Can’t fault the effort but lack of quality in the final 3rd is frightening
-
Ramsey totally ignoring burn’s overlap around the 15 min mark 😂

Murphy. I’m still livid he was made captain the other week. -

Loyalty is his weakness -
100%. I’m completely convinced Woltemade has potential to be a top player. Before the Barca game, I was in the Gallowgate watching the warm-ups, and his finishing really stood out. He was putting everything away with ease while others were missing chances or having shots saved. I agree he still needs to adapt physically to the league, but in terms of pure finishing ability, I honestly think he’s the best at the club. That’s why it’s frustrating that Howe hasn’t made more of an effort to build around him.
-
PL proven ✅ what a predictable target 😂
-
He looks like a really strong player, right up until he gets in and around the box. Put it this way, I feel far more confident when Barnes finds himself in those positions than when Gordon does. 65m is good money for him.
-
That’s missing the point. It’s not about what others have spent over 15 years, it’s about the resources he’s had and how they’re being used right now. Those players weren’t just inherited either, they’re largely the ones he identified and wanted. If you’ve had a major say in recruitment and ended up with £220m worth of your own signings on the bench, it’s fair to question both the spending and the usage. And even compared to others in the league since the pif takeover, that level of investment is competitive with most clubs at that end. Most clubs would expect that kind of outlay to translate into a settled team, not a situation where a huge chunk of it isn’t even being used.
