  1. The negative to this could be how he reacts when we inevitably have a sideways or backwards season. I hope he has a reasonable amount of patience.
  2. It's promising there has been no report of a club willing to meet that clause. But for some reason I can't comprehend what it means when that clause expires. Are they going to want even more and just keep him if they don't get it?
  3. Because of the clause ending I presume.
  4. Very interesting - if that is actually possible and then a future Gallowgate expansion could happen if demand warranted it it would mean there's a path to having the second biggest club stadium in the country, right?
  5. We can do something like this: https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/newcastle-united-agree-sven-botman-deal/
  6. It's nice to have another set piece option, but still way too many putting the blame on Trippier for our underperformance on corners and free kicks. On the whole delivery was not the problem.
  7. He's a punter. There are no famous punters.
  8. The people who are down on him the most are the stats-focused analysts. I'm surprised Sanjay likes him so much tbh.
  9. Going to call it the relegation box from now on. Hope we’re never in it again.
  10. Couldn't be more stereotypical that the thread on our big Italian signing has turned into a Dean Martin lyrics contest and pizza debate.
  11. Chicago style is good but it's barely pizza. Detroit style is fine. These are both things people eat when they can't get the real deal (NYC).
  12. Currently typing in a full kit on with my own name on the back.
  13. Surely the simplest song is largely written already. Could be as few as two changes unless someone can get creative with "big pizza pie." When the moon (toon) hits your eye Like a big pizza pie, that's amore (Tonali) When the world seems to shine Like you've had too much wine, that's amore
  14. I'm ready for Szoboszlai now. Going to die if we get him too.
  15. There's such a big difference between these net and gross claims, although with the number coming down if it is £6M per year net it'd be slightly over £200k/wk gross. That's more believable than previous numbers but considering bonuses I still don't buy it. Seems like the 'net' claims are all coming from Italy either to save face or because that's just what they assume it would be.
  16. If he does well and cements himself in the national team then it could open things up. This could also make it more likely that we’re attractive to another Italian or two.
  17. Took a million off the salary.
  18. This thread title is why no one likes Americans.
  19. I’d write a blank check for that, but it’s a concept shirt.
  20. Not only do they not know specific players, but not a whiff that we planned on raiding Italy.
  21. Because of how prevalent ACL injuries are in the NFL there has been a lot of focus on recovery time and “return to performance” timelines. A lot of players do not get back to previous benchmarks until the second season post-surgery. If we have a chance to get Chiesa on an injury discount it’s certainly a risk worth taking.
  22. I love how "he's not Pirlo" and "he's not Barella" are some of the biggest negatives being thrown around.
  23. Actual contracts can be as long as anyone wants. The 5 year limit is only for FFP calculations. You can't amortize the fee over 6, 7, 8 years.
