  1. Bournemouth’s next four are a Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City. Huddersfield have lost 5 of 6 by a combined score of 16-4. Their win came against Brighton. Brighton haven’t won in their last five, although they have managed a couple draws. They have Spurs, Burnley, Watford, Chelsea. West Brom haven’t won since AUGUST. They have Liverpool, Man Utd, Stoke, Everton, Arsenal. Stoke have a very favorable run of fixtures coming up. They will either be effectively safe or a genuine relegation candidate by the end of it. Their GD is concerning. Swansea have City, Everton, Palace, Liverpool, Watford, Spurs and hadn’t won in 8 before beating West Brom the other day. And then there’s West Ham and Palace. Point being there are a lot of teams struggling. A couple results and we could be looking quite comfortable again.

    Isaac Hayden

He won one tackle yesterday and had zero interceptions. He offers nothing going forward so if he’s not consistently breaking up play then there is no purpose to him playing ahead of Shelvey.
  3. He’s lacking sharpness and made the mistake that led to the first goal, but think it’s harsh to say he was terrible. Hayden was nowhere to be found yesterday. Merino was asked to do far too much. 1 assist (which is a good example of why assists can dumb, but an assist nonetheless) 3 key passes 5 tackles won 5 interceptions 8 aerials won Dispossessed twice By comparison, Hayden: 0 assists 0 key passes 1 tackle won 0 interceptions 5 aerials won Dispossessed twice (and a customary booking)
  4. It would be a billion dollar business (or close to it) if it was a closed league. It's why American clubs are worth quite a bit more and why the only PL clubs approaching those numbers are the ones who are perceived to be entirely safe from the threat of relegation (which not coincidentally are the ones pulling in extra revenue through the CL and global fanbases).
  5. This. Entitlement is not the right word mind Agree, but I’m feeling lazy. The general point is right — they owe us nothing and their offers are not indicative of anything that would happen if they did own us in the future. This is a business transaction.
  6. FA Cup attendances are s****, imagine how much worse they'd be? Conversely, you could quite easily argue that televising every single game (at least from R3 onwards) and trying to create a modern day spectacle out of it could ultimately increase attendances. Instead it just carries on like it's 1974 and people moan about the fact it's not as special as it once was.
  7. He was pretty inconsistent, but I think we've missed Atsu more than I ever thought we would.
  8. I assume the tradition of only televising a few games will continue? Here's a novel idea to increase interest in the FA Cup -- let people actually watch it.
  9. So our only win in a decade is because Ben Arfa is a magician.
  10. The atmosphere yeah but aside from that I'm pretty sure I heard nothing but good things. Atmosphere's part of it, though? I would have thought it would be the number 1 requirement for most fans as well, in fact it's singled out as one of the reasons why SJP is second - "Passionate fans generating a fantastic atmosphere in a great looking stadium." Weird. Arsenal fans win/ruin every online poll, so basically SJP won.
  11. I’m ready to join the Joselu hate. That was outrageous.
  12. He does. Seems more confident. Looks pretty average though. U2 sucks.
  13. Shelvey is a moron. There was no point in making that tackle.
  14. In this case I don't think anyone is guessing. I think they all have different sources and depending on which side the info is coming from and how close the source is to the proceedings they're getting different versions. All that we should care about at this stage is a bid has been made, it may have been made as early as last week, and there are no reports it's been outright rejected. This is all very positive.
  15. I've always thought this, and some of the responses here certainly aren't changing my mind,... I think the average sports fan severely underestimates how good professional athletes are at what they do. The speed, the strength, the skill, the consistency.
  16. Wouldn't be that concerning if there was some investment in January.
  17. Would have been concerned if their offer was under 300m after going through due diligence. This all seems to be going too well though...
  18. Really unfortunate we didn’t play them before Pogba was back. He makes such a difference for them.
  19. Not saying that they are. Just saying it’s weird how they don’t mention that Elliot is clearly at fault for the goal. The first one they are too busy wanking about Pogba. Everything else irrelevant. Doesn’t mean a better keeper wouldn’t have gotten to the other post faster, which is the main issue with Elliot there.
  20. Its right in the corner ffs It was in the corner but it was a floated cross. He never got across or set - better keepers move quicker from post to post in that situation. And then to make matters worse he falls like giant oak tree.
  21. Every time he does something dumb and gives that little bashful smile I see this face and I hate Murphy slightly more:
