This should be required reading for everyone on this board as it puts transfer fees into perspective: https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/is-raheem-sterling-overpriced-football-inflation-and-the-transfer-window/ It's also pretty great and equally depressing (although just applying numbers to something we already know).

He kind of said that initially, by agreeing with the caller, but then he talked about how he plays out wide of a three for France and how finding his best position is important. What I took from that is Sissoko is one of his first names on the team sheet, but he's not certain of his position yet.

Colback won't be captain? That's about it. Also don't think it was as negative as some are saying. Just a lot of standard coach speak.
-
Forgot Dummett was hurt. Not ruling out Colo. If Colo isn't available he has to start Mbemba. We deserve everything we get if it's the two jokers.
-
Based on his interview I think we're going to see one of two things... Krul, Janmaat, Mbemba, Colo, Dummett, Colback, Anita, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Obertan, Mitrovic/Cisse Krul, Janmaat, Mbemba, Colo, Dummett, Colback, Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Perez, De Jong, Mitrovic/Cisse The second lineup is our "attacking" lineup. The question is if he starts with that. The first one could see De Jong in for Obertan. I think he's genuinely undecided about Mitrovic vs. Cisse.

I'd be totally fine with 3 in and 3 out, but we're not going to get rid of the ones that need to go. We should just give them away to get the wages off the books, but I suspect we're too cheap/stubborn for that.

Just finished our draft for an 8 team league. Definitely some homer picks for everyone but curious who you all think has the best team? No salary cap, standard scoring with no bonus points/captains, and max of 3 players from one club. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/04/d65b58fa5b98713715fefb9b93fdc604.jpg

I find that acceptable given it's his first season. He better never say it again though.

America is exonerated. This guy is a clown.

Here comes the Captain Jack answer and ensuing meltdown...
-
This must be Ed Harrison's neighbor. 'swol' dear god. On behalf of America I am sorry.
-
Sissoko definitely starting.
-
Per McClaren, we have not made a bid for him.
-
Could be worse I suppose, but can't believe we won't get another CB.
-
Pretty obvious if you waited until I finished the point Honestly couldn't hear the last half of it or what the actual question was.
-
What the fuck is he asking about the marketing slogan? Who gives a shit?
-
Honestly, I'm ok with that if Colback was the alternative. It will be for a year max and then McClaren will know the squad better.
-
Yeah, he seemed certain of signings until Mbemba was done. Might just be pessimism, but I think we've all earned that. It's not like anything has happened in the last seven years to fill us with optimism.
-
Honestly, if they think we're done I hope we get slaughtered on Sunday. The worse our defense looks the better.
-
I mostly agree (that whole Liverpool match was just perfect), but I'll always fondly remember his goal against Forest and the ensuing celebration.
-
Is he really going to be our captain? Can't be, right?

The bubble will only burst if something happens that causes the value of live sporting events to decrease. Right now it's at an all-time high globally with no signs of slowing down. In the US, NBC paid $250m for three years of Premier League rights and this upcoming season is year three. At the very least NBC, ESPN, and Fox will be bidding for the next cycle and the PL has said they will accept both three-year and six-year bids but will only sign a six-year deal that blows them away. If it's a three year deal I expect it will be at least double what NBC paid just two years ago. A six-year deal they might go for would probably be in the $1.2-1.5 billion range. The amount of money Premier League clubs have is only going up for the foreseeable future.
