Dempsey and Sunderland would fit well together. He's a complete cocksmoker. Unfortunately, he's a decent player so I hope he doesn't go there.
  2. Before the season I would have signed up for 3 points from opening matches vs. Spurs and at Chelsea and a decent position after leg one of the EL qualifier. Considering how unfit half our team looks and some of the injuries, it's a borderline miracle. This is one to forget and move on.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Can't imagine sitting through that game without him involved. Really the only bright spot.
  4. I don't hate his defending as much as some, but every time the ball goes out to Simpson we might as well retreat. It's infuriating how much a player like Debuchy would improve us.
  5. How so? Not a single striker? A decrepit goalkeeper? Four guys that basically play the same position. The versatility of Perch and Taylor is the only saving grace. Who are these 4 that play in the same position? I (and I expect I am not the only one) aren't even sure where the hell Amalfitano and Marveaux will settle for a start. Obertan although being poor so far as a player hasn't exactly shown he is stuck to one position either and his one positive recently is looking half decent when legs are starting to go. I don't know how you can think this is a good bench. I'm not even knocking the talent - I love Perch and Marveaux, Amalfitano looks like he could be a player, and I appreciate what Taylor offers. Obertan will be useful in exactly one scenario and I shudder at the thought of anything happening to Krul (rare as it may be). Perch is the only real cover for defensive midfield and would also be the choice if Colo's injury forces a move. I understand it would be a lot better with the likes of Tiote and Jonas in the mix, but the fact that there isn't a striker available due to an injury to Shola is a complete indictment of our options there. Sure, you could probably make due with a system involving HBA, Marveaux, and one of Ba/Cisse but that's not ideal. That bench highlights what we all know - we need a couple more players.

  7. Imagine if we signed Debuchy, Douglas, and Carroll on Friday. This board would implode.
  8. Ah yeah, remember that now. The timing was strange. Same as the Liverpool comments really - it's all for the benefit of his team. Not sure what it accomplishes though.
  9. I still think we're going to sign one more (maybe even 2), but you're probably much closer to reality.
  10. Thought the 3rd made no sense since the 31st is a Friday. Next week is going to be awesome (read: excruciating).
  11. Jury's still very much out on Arsenal's new lads as well, especially in terms of replacing arguably the two most important players in their team last year. lmao, just lmao. They sold a s*** midfielder in song and got rid of a wantaway captain. Podolski is the obvious big question mark, but Carzola and Girourd both look up for it, Girourd should have buried his chance but had a howler. Think its time you laid off the strong cheese. What in the?
  12. They are playing each other - not surprising in the least. It's all about motivating his own team. He said Man U would win the title last year, Mancini likes to talk s*** Not defending Mancini or anything, but it's not exactly talking shit considering that team came within minutes of actually doing so.
  13. Just watched both videos. Incredible. No idea which one is the best.
  14. This has to be the fastest Comcast has ever moved on a new channel.
  15. He's an absolute nutcase. Love him.
  16. Has to be considered job done, especially with another (important) game in less than 48 hours.
  17. But he's gone the day after the season, right? Hope not. I would assume so. The problem is bigger than the manager though.
  18. Can only see Rodgers getting sacked if they are flirting with relegation. I get the impression they have bought into Rodgers' plan. Valentine still has a job because a) it wouldn't accomplish much at this point b) the players need to be held accountable c) Lucchino would be admitting that Cherington was right and he's probably not ready to give him that power.
  19. It's the best city in the world. Just go.
  20. I agree that it's fucked up, but for those that aren't aware this is a pretty common practice in American sports. The one difference is there are usually prospects sent in the other direction. Example: Team A sends primary player to Team B and agrees to cover $7m of the $9m remaining on his contract. Team B sends two young prospects to Team A in return. There's never any rule about not being able to play against the old team. This better be the case here as well.
  21. Me too, and it feels dirty but certainly for our benefit in the long run.
  22. Says he hopes to "be ready to play against PSG on september 2." What he really means is he hopes to be ready to play against Aston Villa on September 2.
