Perch really is a poor player. Not basing that just on this performance, though it's certainly not helping his case.

I think it's pretty clear that quote has nothing to do with West Ham and everything to do with signing a striker. That's just me though.

Barca and Arsenal I can understand, but I hate the fuckin Man U and Chelsea supporters over here. One of my friends was talking about switching to Arsenal when Rooney was going to quit. That kind of support just pisses me off. I actually think Arsenal fans here are the worst. Man Utd. and Chelsea fans at least acknowledge that at some point in time they jumped on a bandwagon. Arsenal fans get all defensive and act like they are better than the others. Really irritating.

No chance for courtside. Lakers are easily over $2000. Knicks and a few others aren't far behind. Behind the bench for the Lakers is $600. Not technically courtside. I've dealt with Pistons courtside before, they're only $300, sometimes they give them away. Detroit doesn't count. I was talking about the Jack Nicholson/Spike Lee seats.

Not sure - would depend on the team (Knicks, Lakers, etc. would be more) and I think they are usually taken by season ticket holders (celebrities), but somewhere between $1000 and $2500 per game probably. 41 home games plus playoffs per season. I doubt they are as low as $2-300 anywhere, even smaller markets.

An average NFL ticket is something like $250, plus some teams you have to buy a personal seat license for the right to buy season tickets. It's a one time cost that (depending on the team and seat location) can range from a few thousand to six figures. Now there are only eight home games, but if you have season tickets you also have to buy the preseason games. Baseball is cheaper, but there are 81 home games plus playoffs. You can attend most games for $10-15 in the cheap seats, but good seats at Yankee Stadium can run you anywhere between $300 and $1200 or so (per game). The Premier League is an absolute bargain by comparison.

Would be disappointed with less than 5 at this point.

I must say, we've had a few inventive set pieces since Pardew took over.

Can't help but laugh every time Lovenkrands attempts a header.

I just went ballistic in my office. LEON!

It's called being a bit realistic. Would love for him to suddenly blossom. Can't see it happening really. Think he'll be solid. He is good enough to at least do what Shola does in general. As far as being a goal threat? Well, we'll find out. He hasn't really played much at all so let's hope he surprises us. How many times have you seen Leon Best play? Enough to know he is at least good enough to do what Shola does in general play, as it isn't very hard i.e. foul the opposition centrebacks every now and then, get a bunch of offsides, lose the ball carelessly when he isn't under much pressure sometimes, win a few headers, link play well sometimes, miss a few sitters. However, can he pop up with the odd goal at this level like Shola does? That is the key question. Can't remember the last time Shola missed a sitter. Two minutes into the Wigan match.

Yeah, their website sucks for payment. I'm going the cheaper route now.

I was just going to say...I'll only believe it if Golfmag says it.

When I saw this thread I thought there was a release on the official site advertising our players for sale. God, that would be embarrassing.

This line of thinking is so misguided and frankly quite annoying.

28 so far for me. Surprised Dann didn't get a bonus point for the late winner. Need a big day from Torres tomorrow.

I know it's only paper talk but if we flogged Carroll for Bentley, Keane and £8m I'd be frankly furious. Keane value: Zero, maybe £1-2m max. Wants out, not playing and over the hill - this would be his last move. Bentley value: £3-5m. Basically hasn't kicked a ball for a year and wants out too. Redknapp needs to be told to gtf just out of principle, the massive twitchy-faced bellend that he is. It's nonsense, obviously, the main reason you'd be looking to pick up Bentley and Keane would be precisely because you've got Carroll. I wish people would stop talking gibberish about some players' worth though. Players are worth what you're willing to pay, and Keane and Bentley will be decent players for a lower Premiership team. Prices are settling down now, but Kenwyne Jones went for 8-9M, Poulsen for 4.5M, Koscielny and Gyan for over 10M. I'd say Keane 3-5 and Bentley 5-7 sounds reasonable separately. It's wishful thinking to think you'd get both for max 7M. I agree with this, though I'd put Keane closer to the 3 and Bentley closer to the 7 (maybe a little more).

I must say I'm a fan of the late Smith for Nolan change with a lead. Colo is awesome.
-
Harper was telling him not to. There was a Wigan player lurking back there.
-
Would love for Best to score. If nothing else he better run his ass off for 15 minutes.
-
Like the sub. Ranger needs to come on for Shola now.
-
Cleverly's going to be a vile player if he becomes even slightly successful at Man Utd.
-
which is a good thing, because he had an awful opening few minutes. Glad he's recovered and looked really up for it since. Linking well with Barton too Put the ball on Shola's head with a perfect cross at the start. Not sure when he was awful.
