  1. As long as the game continues like this I really don't care about the result. Very entertaining.
  2. You're a self-respecting human being. Of course you want Korea to win. Part of me does, but then it's a win for all of RTG.
  3. Ah, ok. Was hoping both sides would be playing for that. Would be better than the gold medal game. I'm trying to come up with a reason why I want one of these teams to win, but the fact of the matter is I just don't give a shit.
  4. Need more info. on this before I choose a side. Any medal will result in exemption for the Korean players? Same true for Japan?
  5. Agreed, but think it will continue to be one injury after the next for him. Anything we get from him will be a bonus IMO.
  6. This may be old news (is it even news?)...I can't keep track anymore, but... From Soccernet Transfer Live Blog
  7. From what I've seen and read I think I'd be a little disappointed if we ended up with Van der Wiel instead of Debuchy.
  8. The transfer window should close on July 31 or August 1. I hate that teams don't start the season with a finished product.
  9. I think his break just ended, FSC guy mentioned it in the first half. Break from what - an extended vacation in Eastern Europe?
  10. I think I'm at the point where I'm going to be more relieved than excited when this actually happens. If it doesn't happen I'm going to be devastated as I convinced myself a long time ago it was a done deal.
  11. The first time I went to an NFL game as a kid I thought the same thing. That, combined with the fact that I couldn't run around the living room imitating the players during the game, made it a far less enjoyable experience than anticipated.
  12. Yup, Legends is still the spot as far as I know. Nevada Smith's is always packed, predominantly full of Man Utd., Madrid, and Barca "fans." I'm also a fan of Mulligan's in Hoboken (right across the river). Good mix of fans - usually not too crowded except for big games.
  13. First comment would be to get all of that text out of the header. Put it in an about section in the left or right column (if you really want it somewhere). Second, if you haven't already, create a Twitter account for the blog so you can post links to your posts. Use hashtags to help get the word out. I've wanted to start some kind of NUFC related site for awhile, but have never been able to decide what kind and not sure I have the proper time. Good luck!
  14. Does he have a chance of getting ahead of Stekelenburg?
  15. Be more than happy with that. Me too if it included a good run in the EL and/or one of the cups.
  16. Getting bored. Something needs to happen.
  17. Felipao - get your wallet out. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/counterweighttv/beautiful-game-the-epic-romance-of-brazilian-socce
  18. Needs to understand his/Lille's place in the football food-chain. Right now, all his prized assets are leaving or want to leave. He can have Danny Simpson - the lad is a goal-line stopping machine. So should we understand our place in the football food chain when Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd., etc. come calling for one of our players? They have every right to try to keep him or get as much money as possible out of us.
  19. So basically the borehole will have paid for Rob Elliott. In all seriousness, it's a pretty good thing we've done. If every major sports team did something like this it would have a pretty big impact.
  20. He comes across as an incredible cocksucker. Such a whiner.

Siblings don't even talk to each other anymore. They are probably all texting one another. Just the way of the world.
  22. Not sure what I'm basing this on, but I thought we had gone the other way in the post-Wise/Vetere/Keegan disaster.
  23. Have a feeling Ba will become pretty good value compared to Cisse, at least early on.
  24. Think it's excellent. It goes against the way a lot of teams do business in football (throwing money around, basically), but it's nothing earth shattering. We evaluate talent, determine our own value, and then stick to it. In the past, silly money was thrown at players to get them here. That's not necessary. This is an incredible club with a majestic stadium playing in the most popular league in the world. We're finally using that to our advantage. When you combine that with the talented and together dressing room that we've built (partially by chance), it becomes a pretty attractive place. We have also been opportunistic and move quickly when a deal presents itself. Ashley and company have fucked up a lot of things and they still deserve blame for the relegation, tacky advertising, and the stadium renaming. But beyond that it's an incredible time to be a fan of this club. Long may it continue.
