There are far more examples of passionate fans in baseball than just the Red Sox. New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis and more. Eagles, Raiders, Chiefs, etc. should be included for football. I could go on and list many teams. It's actually a really silly argument to say there is no passion in American sports. The difference is its spread out across a large country with a lot of different sports, both professional and collegiate. New York is, first and foremost, a baseball town, the south is all about college football, Texas lives and breathes any kind of football from pee wee's to the NFL, the Dakota's don't have any professional teams but love their college hockey. I generally make a point of not talking to people about sports at a bar. Most people are fucking idiots and care more about how many yards their Fantasy Football RB had than if their team (if they even have one) won.
