You mean you're not worried about Sergio Mitre, Bartolo Colon, and Freddy Garcia? Need one of them to be the next Aaron Small.

American takeover in progress. I'm going to bump this thread every time the Yankees beat the Red Sox this season.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Guy is a tool. Boston has it's fair share. Bite your tongue. QuakesMag is spot on about the genesis of the douchebag You just can't beat New Yorkers for good old douchebaggery. Honest. I have the (mental) scars to prove it. I'm not going to argue that there aren't any in NY, but Boston has just as many as does Philly. Basically, every major northeast city is full of loud-mouth douchebags. Fortunately, there are plenty of normal people as well.

Hopefully, could be a good run in. I'd love Arsenal to win the league. Why? Biggest gang of snidey c***s in the league. I think I would actually vomit if I saw Fabregas lift the league title. Yup, the only consolation is that Fabregas would almost certainly leave after that.

There are far more examples of passionate fans in baseball than just the Red Sox. New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis and more. Eagles, Raiders, Chiefs, etc. should be included for football. I could go on and list many teams. It's actually a really silly argument to say there is no passion in American sports. The difference is its spread out across a large country with a lot of different sports, both professional and collegiate. New York is, first and foremost, a baseball town, the south is all about college football, Texas lives and breathes any kind of football from pee wee's to the NFL, the Dakota's don't have any professional teams but love their college hockey. I could go on forever here, but there's no denying the passion.

I will be done even considering relegation as a possibility if we get 3 points today.

NBA games are a fucking joke. I'd rather attend Disney on Ice.

Might as well be his f***ing agent. I'm sorry, but that comment just makes me want to be f***ing sick. Unfortunately, we need him and his goals right now, and stripping him of the captaincy could destroy the morale. Would do it in a heartbeat otherwise.

Might as well be his fucking agent.

Absolutely fucking disgraceful that he did an interview for them. Really defies belief.

I generally make a point of not talking to people about sports at a bar. Most people are fucking idiots and care more about how many yards their Fantasy Football RB had than if their team (if they even have one) won. I can promise you that there are plenty of people in the US that have a team and stick by them. You guys are just citing the worst of the worst. I don't really care who someone becomes a fan of as a kid (as someone said, kids are very impressionable), although chances are they were good or had a great player, as long as they stick with them for the rest of their life - through thick and thin. Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the fuck Boston sentiment. And fuck John Henry even more after yesterday.

I'm ok with a draw from Wigan/WBA.

Pittsburgh's Colocinni Except that Big Ben does things like that on a regular basis. Fucking scum.

Some are like that, but certainly not most for American sports. Two years ago when Liverpool beat us 5-1 a friend texted me and said some shit gloating about them winning. I responded with "Aren't you an Arsenal fan?" The response - "I was, but this guy I know is a big Liverpool fan and he convinced me to like them." Not sure I've talked to him since to be honest.
-
I would get rid of Rooney and get either Nani or Berbatov in your team. At least one is a must. Having Barton and Nolan is probably overkill.
-
Fuck off John Henry.
-
Think we'd stand a good chance of getting him on loan if they get Torres.

How come? The next round is the weekend following our game with them. Newcastle's game at Birmingham, which was postponed last month due to heavy snow in the area around St. Andrew's, is currently rearranged for Tuesday, February 15 - but is subject to change depending on City's progress in the FA Cup. Following discussion with the Premier League and the Football Assocation, the following scenarios exist: 1. Should Birmingham's FA Cup fourth round match against Coventry on Saturday January 29 end in a draw then the replay will take place on Tuesday, February 15. In these circumstances United's league fixture at Birmingham will take place on Wednesday, March 16. 2. If Birmingham beat Coventry and progress to the FA Cup fifth round, Newcastle's league fixture will take place on February 15 as is currently scheduled. 3. If Birmingham lose to Coventry on January 29, The Magpies' fixture at Birmingham will be moved to the free weekend of FA Cup fifth round - February 19 or 20. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110121/birmingham-away-update_2281670_2272800 Thanks - hadn't seen that. Think we got the best possible result then. They have a very busy February.

How come? The next round is the weekend following our game with them. Replay wise I believe. Looking at their fixtures the logical place for the replay to slot in would be midweek of the 6th. Would be perfect for us since they would be playing a ridiculous number of games in February.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get anyone in - a loan at the very least would be nice - but I'll reserve judgment on Pardew in the transfer market and Ashley's backing of his man until the summer.
-
If Birmingham hold on here and beat Coventry this weekend they will have a stretch of five matches in 15 days with our rescheduled game being the second of those. I'm ok with that.

Dembele should have scored twice now.
