  1. Santa Cruz has to be one of the biggest wastes of money ever.
  2. Ahhhhh...would have made this a great day.
  3. Tried to get a last minute bet on Birmingham, but it was closed when I hit place bet. Either going to be really pissed or quite relieved. Thinking about putting a pretty strong bet on Villa (-1/2) tomorrow.
  4. Single bet on Chelsea -2 3 team: Chelsea, ManCity, Boro
  5. I went crazy when the Yankees won the WS this year (huge fan). It was so great to see after heartbreak in '01, losing in '03, the unspeakable acts of '04, and the pathetic display of '08. I'll admit that '99 was a little ho-hum after winning in '96 and '98. 2000 was sweet just because of the Mets.
  6. I was thinking the Bills too. The city is a really good comparison and it doesn't get much worse than losing four straight Super Bowls. Reminds me of an old joke... A little boy appears in front of a judge after his parents get divorced. He gets to choose who he will live with. The judge asks, "Do you want to live with your Daddy?" "No," said the boy. "He beats me." "Ok, then you want to live with your Mom?" asks the Judge. "No," he says. "She beats me too." "Well then who do you want to live with?" The boy thinks for a minute and then says, "How about the Buffalo Bills? They never beat anyone." Ba-Dum-Chaaaa
  7. They have also existed for 3 years.
  8. Maybe as far as winning anything, but the've never even been close (so no tragic failure... just failure) - also the Cubs are the affluent and very white northern-suburban demographic of Chicago which is also a two team town... the demographics kill the compason for me. That said I can't think of any other baseball team that would be a better fit... but I've never been a fan. No tragic failure? How about the 2003 NLCS when they were 5 outs away from going to the World Series before Steve Bartman's infamous run-in with Moises Alou? Or the regular season collapse in '69? Or the NLCS heartbreak against the Padres in '84? They haven't won the World Series since 1908 (the longest drought in North American sports) and haven't been in it since '45. The Pirates last won the World Series in 1979. They also won it in 1960 on a dramatic Game 7 walk-off HR against the Yankees. They had some heartbreak in the early 90's and have been absolutely dreadful since then. I think the city is a decent comparison, but not the team. The Red Sox were definitely the best comparison until 2004. Maybe we'll win two titles in 4 years (yeah right). Another possible comparison is the Cleveland Indians. A team people like to make fun of, most notably when they were the subject of the movie "Major League." A team that hasn't won the World Series since 1948, lost in the WS in '95, and were two outs away from winning it in '97. To add to that, the city of Cleveland hasn't had a championship in any sport since some time in the 60's when the Browns won (pre-Super Bowl). The Cavs (NBA) have never won the title.
  9. Here's my favorite Super Bowl prop bet... Super Bowl XLIV - How many times will Pete Townshend do his legendary windmill move? Windmill move must be a full 360 degree revolution and be shown on TV to be counted for this wager. O/U at 5.5
  10. Fantastic goal. Man City look awful.
  11. Me. More nervous now than I was at kickoff. No idea why. Worried we're going to fuck it up I guess.
  12. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/Qwq7BYOnDrM/0.jpg Playoffs?
  13. Absolutely useless. He cannot continue to play up front this season. Ameobi, Loven, and Ranger are all miles better. He's pretty good at clearing corners, so maybe he could become a CB (though I doubt it).
  14. Me too, but I'll worry about that once we are guaranteed promotion. Until then I hope they lose every week.
  15. He's rubbish at this level tbh. However, if he's only here to cover for injuries, it shouldn't be a massive problem. How many times have you seen him at this level? I am waiting for Ronaldo's assessment tbh. I think he said yesterday (might be thinking of someone else) that he's the worst player he's seen in the top two divisions.
