  1. PSG xG 3.22 to 0.77xG for Dortmund 30 shots to 7 5 big chances to 1 70% possession Not too dissimilar from the night we were robbed.
  2. What is our argument? That Australia is so far away it's basically behind closed doors?
  3. I don't even want to put this game on. Watching two teams from our group at the scene of the crime... ugh.
  4. That's easily the coolest race car I've ever seen.
  5. Highly enjoyable pseudo match thread last night.
  6. Sure, but there’s a big difference between top 4 and mid-table.
  7. The post right above yours, written in the passive aggressive style that dominated the winter, is suggesting his job will be reviewed this summer and he has one more season to really prove himself.
  8. Or if we hadn't thrown away the Liverpool game. Going to haunt me for the rest of time.
  9. The good news for Man United is their next three opponents have only scored 219 goals this season.
  10. That was always the problem though. Well run clubs sell a player a year or two early. Dumb ones buy them three years too late.
  11. I'm not sure I've ever been more let down by xG in my life. Palace - 1.10 (and that 3rd goal accounts for 40% of it) Man United - 0.29 Feels like it should be 4x that.
  12. Is he offside? Yes, by a full hectare.
  13. "One of the worst 45 minutes of defensive football I've seen in the Premier League this year. Erik Ten Hag has had nine days since the game against Burnley to work on his game plan to play Crystal Palace. They have been all over the place--it's hard to be that bad with international players." -- Robbie Earle
  14. Since Jan 1 they are 7th with 23 points. We are 5th with 24. Since Feb 1 they are 7th with 20 points. We are 6th with 21.
  15. New entry when you look up the definition of Thunderbastard.
  16. Match report can now be written: Crystal Palace defeated Manchester United 4-0 on Monday night at Selhurst Park, but the visitors will be aggrieved at a first half goal that was ruled out for a foul on Rasmus Hojlund. After an energetic opening period, United thought they equalised after a lovely floated header to the near post. The valiant visitors gave their all, but an injury depleted squad came up short. Michael Olise scored four goals. Erik Ten Hag may be under increasing pressure when they host league leaders Arsenal this weekend, but fan representative Froggy assures us his hands are tied and he's doing the best he can.
  17. Palace better be out of sight at halftime.
  18. You could make a highlight reel of players being dribbled past just from the last five minutes.
  19. Eze just dancing through people. Please Palace.
  20. It might be bad in the near term, but seems like a gift longer term. I can't imagine it was going to end well.
  21. These football positions are different to the normal world, but in the normal world going all the way to the end and getting an actual offer is sometimes the only way to get a counter.
  22. I get some serious Pardew-type vibes from these quotes. “What concerns me is that in 18 months I have never had my favourite team on the pitch once, because players were injured – that concerns me. In fact there was only one time, against City at home last season. That is the only time I had a full squad to pick my full team.” “In all the other games there was an injury aspect that we have had to deal with. “That’s normal in football, but not as many as we have had. And I know that when we’ve had so many injuries in crucial key positions, you can’t deliver the results you want to bring. That’s OK, but that’s my truth – others can have different truths but I can’t put any energy into that.”
  23. Journalists in general (some are better than others) have been so slow to react to covering the financial side of the game. It took way too long to move past the headline transfer fee figure and get on board with amortisation. Now most seem to be hip to amortisation, but so few talk about wages and it seems no one is doing the work they should be doing to really push clubs/agents/players to share wage numbers, bonus details, etc. All of this is necessary information to understanding the actual cost of a player and how it impacts a club's finances. Trying to find out Wilson's salary is comical - sources range from £43k/wk to over £100k. It makes a huge difference to what benefit (or not) we'd get in selling him.
  24. What a dumb rumour. Even the club won’t know what the exact situation is yet. Each league place is worth roughly £3m, so 6th vs 8th is a £6m swing on its own.
