  1. Jacob Murphy His mother comes from Birtley They say he is a Geordie And he is gonna score for Eddie's Magpies. #NothinButAHeartAche
  2. Botman to give Kane a lengthy injury and return the favour from Kane and Lejeune, thanks.
  3. I find his calming nature both therapeutic and provocative. Therapeutic in that he talks utter sense, is measured, focused and rarely differentiates from his method and provocative in that his nature makes me want him to give a snippet of emotion or passion, or do something a bit wild but because he doesn't I feel I must take that to the game and really rally behind the lads.
  4. Think I hit a new record today...walked 9miles inside SJP.
  5. Unfortunately l, I think we're aiming to push the scarves as a more cup thing but we have a slightly varied display again gor next weekend albeit using existing items. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Don't wanna sound arsey here because I know we've kind of set the bar. However, games like next Sunday are for everyone attending to 'raise the bar' for me. We will use what we can in terms of time and resource to obviously try and set the benchmark pre-match but I really hope, and actually expect that our fans will also understand the importance of the game and make it difficult for Spurs without Wor Flags' encouragement, and I suspect they will, as for me whilst Wor Flags helps I do actually believe it is somewhat the natural feel of each game that generally dictates the overall atmosphere. As a separate question, and this is purely from my own curiosity (and not for plaudits) but does anyone feel the displays are becoming a little less valued or less interesting now that they're being done so regularly? I.e. would it be more impactful if we scaled up and down more often rather than doing something every home game?

    Premier League or all time?
  9. We need nowt other than us to get 4 points from the next two. Then everything will fall into place.
  10. We would have to collapse in general now based on the rest of the season. We've lost 3 in 29 so that'd suggest we might lose one more. We're winning 1 in 2 so that'd get you 4 wins (68 points). Don't lose to Spurs, Villa or Brighton and it's done.
  11. Rafa helped create the basis for Howe imo. Got players in who gave a shit and 'got it', revitalised the support and helped make it clear that Ashley was our barrier to success (if anyone couldn't already figure that out). It says something that the likes of Murphy, Lascelles and Ritchie still play a key part in our squad. Howe has taken us to the next level and whilst that is largely down to his dedication and desire to be the best he can be, it is somewhat down to the character of those already present at the club and having backing from the board. Anyone slating Rafa is looking through some sort of bizarre rose-tinted glasses for me.
  12. If we beat Spurs it's done like. Cannot see them overturning a 6+ point difference. We'd have to lose 3 or 4 and that won't happen.
  13. Why would anyone who supports Newcastle be gutted a Newcastle player has turned out be better than expected...
  14. Not sure why the territorial army is being debated here but they're also important to the countries upkeep and defence like despite being part time... Back to the subject matter, it doesn't simply justify pre-conceptions - people see what Eddie has built and think he deserves more respect than that which was shown. They're right to do so, but likewise it is important little is made of a fairly nothing situation.
  15. He shouldn't have acted the way he did, that's the top and bottom of it. He could absolutely show frustration and be annoyed and all that, and I get that tempers are flying high, etc. But as soon as Eddie puts an arm around him and talks to him he should be respectful enough to dial it in and see the bigger picture. That may be down to immaturity, but for me it's an excuse. I think he needs to be given the benefit of a doubt and we need to appreciate he's keen, eager and desperate for minutes. However, some of the other players put an arm around him and chatted with him and I think that's the right way to go about it. It's a sign of the importance of the likes of Lascelles, Ritchie, Murphy, etc. Within the squad. The right attitude. Was well pleased Trippier gave Jamaal the armband and was well pleased Ritchie talked to Gordon as a fellow hot head. Situation managed, hopefully lessons learned and we move forward, stronger.
  16. Beat Spurs and don't lose to Brighton and it's done. They'd have to get at least 7 more points than us from 7 games...
  17. I'm now an "Aye" and a "10". Cannot see us not doing it. My prediction is; Villa - Draw Spurs - Draw Everton - Win Southampton - Win Arsenal - Draw Leeds - Win Leicester - Win Chelsea - Draw Brighton - Draw 17 points thus finishing on 73. I see Spurs getting 16 more - maximum, and they're 3 behind us already (69). I reckon Man United will pip us to the post for 3rd and end up with around 20 / 23 points from their remaining games (76/79) but Europe and FA Cup pending they might slip up once or twice so that leaves that more open. We're the most consistent side of those three at present though with 5 wins from the last 5, the same as both title contenders. Factoring in we beat Man United and Brentford in 2 of those 5 suggests we're doing extremely well and have found our form. Squad is looking better, deeper and more capable too. I think you'll see us throw less caution to the wind too though in this last run, we have nowt to lose, so games where they may have been draws may turn into the occasional win. At the end of the day one win is better than two draws... We shall see. We will be as pragmatic and focused as ever. One thing for certain, we need to pinch ourselves
