 Too true. Think there would be a few alcohol induced deaths around Newcastle on the evening...

Can you give an example? Off the top of my head, you have the Steven Taylor incident. You then have things like the Andy Carroll incident where they were saying he was a gypsy and one national reporter said it was racist or something. Potentially, you have this Anelka incident. There are probably a lot more but I cannot be arsed to find them all... Stephen Taylor was pure ignorance, but footballers with their massive public profile need to know better Aye, they should no better. All I am getting at is to what degree though - like I wouldn't know what gestures might offend a Chinese person, or Italian, or whatever. Fair enough, I Would agree, but say if an english player had made the gesture Anelka did, I think it would be unreasonable to expect him to know that was an anti-Semitic gesture in France and wouldn't expect him to be punished for it, but he is going to be under scrutiny in his own country and is a part, however small, of representing the premier league brand in France and as much as I hate the idea of 'advertising' the league, one aspect I'd Like to see represented is our inclusive nature regardless of race/colour/religion. Aye, I see where you're coming from like. To be fair though, there could be 'new' gestures or insults kicking about in the UK that I wouldn't know about, so to a point it is unreasonable to assume Anelka knows every offensive gesture or insult in France, especially saying as France is like twice the size. I do agree in that, we want the Premier League to show it is all inclusive as you said, however. Ultimately, there is no way of proving what he meant by it, and he will and probably should get off with a slap on the wrist.

The Cabaye corner where everyone sang his name. Literally one of the loudest I've heard for Cabaye.

and the cheering for him when he came on and ther chanting for him to take the pen. Spot on Aye, that was great like. Been very critical of Papiss recently but was genuinely pleased for him against Stoke when he was about to come on and eventually scored. Hopefully this brings about more competition for the CF spot(s) too.

I reckon Debuchy and Haidara are our most natural, and best defensive options. Santon is canny for when we attack teams though. As you say, competition for place is good, and essentially the RB position could be up for grabs if Haidara gets slotted in at LB for whatever reason. For me, a quality CB would be best to sign in January, along with Remy and a half decent target man. We wont splash that though unless we sell.

Aye. Like I said in the Pardew thread - We have worked our bollocks off since the defeat at the SoS and played all the top sides. With form only second to Man City for the last 10 games. There's only been one of those games where I think we were a bit lucky and that was 'Spurs. We've made our luck and duly received it all against Stoke. Clean slate again tomorrow to make some more luck, through hard-work and determination.

There is some utter shite banter like at times too, which is dreadful but in a bizarre sense amusing, nevertheless. Purely for the WTF element. Don't get me wrong, I am all for racism being stamped out, but I just think the line between banter and racism/abuse is getting a Greyer area with too many campaigns or groups trying to justify themselves rather than have a bit of sense.

Both bookings were harsh for the first Red. Although he was pretty stupid for going on the way he did after being booked. He only has himself to blame for that. Cabaye knew what he was doing when he went down for the second though, in my opinion. Bit of gamesmanship, nice to see us being like that for a change, we're normally too nice. Second Red was definitely correct, and obviously the penalty. Remy's pen wasn't great but at least he hit the target. Good save from the m*ckem twat. Then I think the referee could be forgiven for not giving the Willo' handball. It was more ball-to-hand than vice versa, and he was only a few yards away. If that had have been a 'top' side the media wouldn't be talking about it so much - wankers. I thought Hughes was harshly sent off to the stands too, to be fair. I thought the ball was out for Gouffrans goal, but the linesman could be forgiven for that also, as he was behind the man. From there onwards there was only going to be one outcome, a Newcastle win. I thought Pardews tactics weren't quite right at the start but the Red cards gave him the nudge to say "go for it". Once we got the equaliser and went more attacking we absolutely annihilated them. It was very good to see us put someone to the sword like we did. All in all, I hope we are solid and get in their faces tomorrow. A tight first half hour will see us grown in strength on and off the pitch and I think things will become a little more nervy with them making a few more mistakes. Capitalise on just one and I cannot see us being beat. We're in good form and I think that's instilled belief in the team, and subsequently more resilience.

Aye - I agree, haha. It's just if it was a gesture to a friend, like, a none-racist one, then the area becomes Grey for me. It's like theoretically Suarez kissing his wrist could be offensive to people. Dancing like a prick could be. Doing the machine-gun celebration could be. When a player does an aeroplane is that offensive to people who suffered 9/11? Like I'm sure you get where I am coming from. It's like the HSBC adverts of old...

Another one on Sunday please. Hope we take the match to those f***ing pricks at Arsenal. Sounding out Wenger every year those fools only to be eating their own words every year. FWIW I would like to see them win the league out of the other teams up there, if we're not to win it. One reason for this, is exactly the above - so Wenger can stick two fingers up. are everton classed as 'being up there' ? are we ? Aye, why not? if not us I'd rather everton then. Fair enough. Don't mind Everton like...They're playing some decent stuff this season too. just want someone different to come out of left field and win it the hard way. I'd be happy with anyone aprt from man utd and city, chelsea, arsenal and the mackems, i'd even rather spurs won it than any of those lot For me, I think it'd be funny for Arsenal to win it this year. Simply, because the way their own fans went on about Wenger last year and also for the fact the media were writing them off before they signed Ozil. One player and now they're key contenders. Other than them though, you're right - it would be nice for them to win it through hard work and organisation, and a few youngsters. I just think the thought of another team other than the usual lot winning cups is off-putting to me these days. It will just be another set of fans to come up here and take the piss out of us for winning fuck all in recent times. I see what you mean though.

I've just been watching Match of the Day and seen they're suggesting that Anelka was making anti-semitic gestures when he scored, the 'spurs fans have been pulled up for chanting "Yid Army", and there seems to constantly be at least one story doing the rounds about racism, just in English football. I appreciate it is a sensitive subject, but some if it seems to be over the top, and a load of nonsense to be honest. Especially, when you turn away from racism and look at the abuse about Carroll being a Gypsy or whatever. At what point do you draw the line, and will we slowly see the demise in 'banter' between fans?

 I really hope he carries this on like. Same as Shola. I thought seeing Shola at the World Cup would make my life complete and if Willo goes too my mind might just blow.

Cabaye's goal vs Stoke was delightful to watch. Absolutely scrumptious finish n'aal.

Went from having his tactics wrong to completely right against Stoke. Think that game was a case of where we had made our own luck in recent weeks, all rubbing off in one game. Going to be another tough one tomorrow. I hope we field a nice solid team and keep a high tempo, get in their faces and get stuck in. They don't like it up 'em and with a solid, determined first half hour I think we can sneak it.

500/1 for the title on BetFred like. Might be worth a quid.
