  1. The 6-0 against Villa last weekend is up there in all honesty - getting back into the Premiership at the first opportunity and twatting a top 10 side like we did, when they mocked us so much was a massive fuck off to everyone in world football, and a massively proud moment for any Newcastle fan. Although, to say this was the best moment would be underestimating the sentimental values of the Shearer testimonial and the Robson England vs Germany game. Both great spectacles for two heroes of varying types. Aside from that, the goal against Feyenoord, or the away game against Marseille for me.

    Sunderland...

26 goals in 92 games in Italy and 14 goals in 47 games in France, hardly proved himself to be a good striker in either league. It's not all about statistics, ffs. Unlike you, I've actually seen him play throughout this period of time. He impressed with Udinese before his injury and litany of clubs were after him. Rennes paid a lot for him and last year was probably the best of his career with him being near the top of scoring charts for most of the season. His pace, power, and skill have made him a dangerous and useful player in every stage of his career. I actually hate the guy, but he's a fine player. He's not worth 13 million pounds, but that's what happens when you buy a World Cup star on deadline day. I'm excited about Carroll, but he's not proven anything. Plenty of players have looked good at 21 or in their first matches in the Premiership. Let us give him time to develop before anointing him to some sort of deity. Bollocks did he impress with Udinese, I don't know which Gyan you were watching. He was a bog standard Serie A striker, who a lot like our own Oba Martins would meander from the sublime to the ridiculous in terms of goal scoring ability. He's no different to Muntari, in the sense the World Cup was his moment of glory Muntari's being his season at Portsmouth. I'm well aware every Sunderland fan is hearing that Gyan is a waste from Newcastle fans, but I'm not saying he will be poor in the Premier League. I'm simply saying, when he was in Italy, he was nowhere near worth 13m, he had a purple patch around the time Quagiarella and him signed new deals, but by the sounds of what Optimistic Nut had to say his ability hadn't sky rocketed in France which is no surprise. If they've bought him to take pressure from Bent then good, but if they are expecting him to shoulder some of the goal scoring burden, I think they've made a mistake, and might as well have gone for Kalinic, Mandzukic, or even Zigic. Also Rennes paid 8m Euro's, a very average sum for a striker of such high calibre... We got Ben Arfa on a loan and he is just as good, if not better, imo.

    BIG CLUB

He's right. It's this thread that all those on rtg will quote, don't know why we do it ...and we don't do that about them? TBH I don't really give a shit what the SMB's think about us, they are and always will be inferior, the inbred little fuckwits.

    BIG CLUB

I beg your pardon? We were a 'BIG CLUB' when we were in the championship imo... Most would argue we were smaller then Smaller, but not necessarily 'not BIG'...

    BIG CLUB

Fair enough, but if someone like Shildon, won the league numerous times but couldn't afford to make the step up to the next flight, then Newcastle were in Premiership mediocrity for ten years, then how do you explain it? Surely, it has to be be measured on something more than just success? Obviously that's an extreme case like...

    BIG CLUB

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5135/giantdriver.th.jpg No this isn't about a group for the likes of Andy Caroll and Peter Crouch - it's about this whole 'BIG CLUB' term. Firstly, what's your interpretation of a 'BIG CLUB'? My interpretation, to put it basically, is that a 'BIG CLUB' is world renowned, constantly in the limelight in one way or another, has a large fan base and large financial income/outcome (?). I therefore consider Newcastle United to be a 'BIG CLUB', which is something I'd like you all to discuss in particular. Another talking point, is that - is the above a view which is rightly scrutinised by opposing fans, or are there interpretations just different to that of (some of) our own? I find it an annoying term, as it's highly controversial due to it's many interpretations. I cannot grip the concept that a 'BIG CLUB' is simply a club that wins trophies because that would mean teams like Leicester City and Portsmouth are bigger clubs than us. Anyhoo....discuss...
  8. We have, by far, the greatest team that the world has ever seen. Simply because we are Newcastle. Newcastle United FC to be exact.

f***ing hell. Is this actually classed as racist, out of curiosity. For example, if we sang "He's quick, he's black, he's deadly in attack, Nile Ranger" would that be racist? It's homophobic, not racist. Anyway, it's all just banter, who gives a f***? I agree. However, if we were to sing that Ranger song I bet we'd be called racists... It'd be no different from singing man or woman to a long haired player though, or who ate all the pies to a chubby fuck, something I've never understood.
  13. I've always seen Dave as the bad cop and Midds as the good cop. The other cops just don't seem to play a massive role...
