  1. Yea just available to existing ST holders - doubt it will be on the ten year price thing. I see your point completely. As a student I was perfectly happy with what I paid for a ST and for £166 quid I will be buying another ST and letting different people use it on a game by game basis. I also agree that your right - if every time you went into a shop you were worried about there being a sale on at some point in the future you'd never buy anything, however, this is slightly different in my opinion. This is quite an unprecedented move by the club - when you sign up for a ST it is usually a pretty safe bet that there wont be a firesale of them after just a few games a season. It seems that some of the most loyal fans (and i'm not saying those without STs aren't as loyal as those with STs), that have made financial sacrifices to be at games are getting short changed. That said - on the flip side there will also be plenty of ST holders who will now be able to bring a friend/family member along at a much discounted rate which is excellent. Tough one for the club....you can't please all of the people all of the time.
  2. Yea sorry was just about to go in and edit. Don't get me wrong, it is an absolutely amazing offer and good PR from the club, however, many will have to have made sacrifices in order to continue to finance their ST - it seems a tad unfair on those who have already committed to the club to pay the full price to then suddenly offer others the opportunity to purchase tickets at a £300-350 discount. It would have cost less than £150 to get individual tickets to the 5 home games so far.
  3. It is a cracking offer but does anyone else feel a little aggrieved that we paid 500 quid for a season ticket that is now about 200 and still valid for 15 games?
  4. Sold 3k plus already according to .com - could make for a cracking atmosphere in our end and we may even outnumber the rovers fans the way they are going! Is everyone else in the lower tier?
  5. Harper would have been rooted to the ground watching it sail past him! If Harper starts wednesday night at Blackburn I think I will then truly begin to appreciate just how good Krul is/has the potential to be.
  6. I'd like to see a pretty strong side out and with Ben Arfa, Marv, Santon and Shola all looking certain to start it will be - from the rest I don't really mind who is in, with the exception of Smith, who should be absolutely no where near pitch time unless we are absolutely desperate. Whilst I doubt we will see Tiote or Cabaye there are still 3 other CMs (Gosling, Guthrie and Abeid) who should be ahead of him. Would also love to see Krul play as he can make a difference - there is no reason why a young keeper should be rested, particularly if its just to give Harper a game, however, this is probably unlikely. If Saylor has broken his nose then it would seem safe to assume that Perch will fill in. Unless Colo really is nursing a toe injury I also expect him to play - Pardew seems to value his leadership in games like this highly. Lovenkrands probably earned himself a start but I would really rather not see it. What is worse is that if AP goes with Shola/Ben Arfa it could well be Lovenkrands playing on the right wing, which again is a completely pointless exercise.
  7. Perch is there to cover colo - perhaps he has had a bad toe. I undrstand having midfirld cover instead of loven, who probably wouldnt get on anyway, but not sure why its smith.
  8. In box office queue for blackburn tickets - its backed up to the players entrance!
  9. Going to this now - heading down to see a mate and watch Morecambe v Rotherham on the tuesday night and then Ewood Park on the Wednesday - I love it when a plan comes together And all that for about 30 quid cheaper than it would have cost me to visit the Glazer Dome!
  10. Why do they even bother naming a provisional squad - I mean that is just a list of first team players rather than a squad for the weekend.
  11. Tickets are £26 in the Gallowgate (£25 for members). Wigan won't bring many but surely if the turnout of home fans is really big and the away support is poor they can just move that Sports Direct Divide further along the Leazes End unless they won't do that because L7 seems to be a closed shop these days unless you have a season ticket up there. Edited to say you'll have been quoting student prices no doubt That's what an adult is showing up as (£20) when I log into the online box office. Let me buy a spurs adult ticket for £27. There was problems with my season ticket as originally I was given an OAP's one so maybe that is just a setting on mine.
  12. Saturday 3pm always adds to the number of home fans whether it be due to the fact that travel/time off work is easier or that they are not on tv in the UK. For this reason I think that we will have at least the same crowd for Wigan for Spurs, if not a few more, despite the fact that Wigan will bring a couple of thousand less. The fact that tickets are only 20 quid in the gallowgate helps of course!
  13. Looking forward to this one already - hate international breaks. Hopefully Demba and Yohan are fit, although if only one makes it my preference would be Yohan. That's not to put Demba down, it's simply the Ben Arfa factor - I certainly consider him a much more adequate replacement than Guthrie. Would love to see Santon start this one, but to be honest really cannot see this happening. I know there are good arguments for not changing an unbeaten side, however, I am a believer that you have to put the strongest side available out and the strongest back four we have definitely contains Santon and one of Raylor/Simpson, although which one is certainly debatable. Also - just bought an adult ticket in the gallowgate for £27 quid. I noticed this at the weekend and thought it was an error, but returned today the transaction went through!
  14. Is it just me or have ticket prices online dropped for this? Went to get a ticket for a mate and it's £27 in the gallowgate.
  15. You're probably spot on with what you're saying there. Can only really think of Everton and Villa that would be given a Category B status and the category B price reflects what the season ticket holders are paying if you divide the cost of their ticket by 19. Exactly...edited my post as I was on my phone originally, but I agree.
  16. The number of category A games this year could well be to do with the number of category C games. For example i think blackburn and fulham were "C" games as is Wigan (correct me if I'm wrong). I imagine Swansea, Wolves, Norwich and QPR also will be. Tickets for these games in the Gallowgate are about 25 quid whereas a new season ticket holder will have paid 29 pounds pergame (based on £550 for a ST). There aren't really a lot of obvious candidates for Category B games - Villa, Everton. West Brom, Bolton and Stoke could go either way but may well have to be Cat B this year. Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Sunderland, Liverpool and Spurs therefore have to be Cat A in order to make a season ticket value for money...then again, maybe I'm over thinking it!
  17. To be fair mate if it was category b it would still be about 30 quid - although I agree that the categories are a bit random - most clubs tend to release a list at the start of the season.
  18. Had a tenner on us/man city/leeds/sunderland draw yesterday - paid out about £360 Tenner on Bolton today at 7/1. Tenner on Bolton-Chelsea draw/QPR/Stoke - Swansea draw and Spurs - pays out just over a grand.
  19. Fantastic today - always rated him as a shot stopper, but this season his overall command of the area has improved massively. Used to come for everything and flap at a fair bit but coped with everything that was thrown at him aerially today.
  20. £10 on David Silva to Score £14 double on Man City and Napoli £10 treble on Derby, Brighton and Boro...rushed into it and didn't realise that Boro weren't playing until tomorrow - poor from me!
  21. Haven't seen or heard what pards has said but perhaps he meant that lovenkrands had, through his brace at forest, earned the right to be first in line to come on. But the reality was that he would have offered nothing, particularly when compared with Hatem and sylv
  22. Was definitely in Hooters before the league game and there were plenty of others in there as well. Should be alright.
  23. I wonder what the total yardage is for all of his goals?! Not that it matters mind, as long as he keeps putting them in.
