It doesn't say anywhere that Ireland has asked for 60k per week does it? The way I read it is simply stating his wages as they are now (or at least what they guess them to be) and that it is unlikely that we would be prepared to pay him that.

Sounds like Pardew is thinking of starting Ireland. Definitely our best option IMO as Lovenkrands is liable to go missing in games like this. If we are going to get anything then it could well be down to a moment of individual genius which, despite Peter's goal at the weekend, I still genuinely believe is more likely to come from Ireland. This side is capable of getting a result on its day IMO: Krul Simpson- Wili-Colo-Jose Barton-Nolan-Tiote-Jonas Ireland Shola -

I like this thread. It is very reassuring to know that I am not the only one (dare i say sad enough?!) who sits and watches basically any game that is on sky sports

So he was probably breaking the speed limit. Not exactly living life on the edge.

No you're right he was as inane and inept a summariser as I've ever heard Theres another one. 'The problem for Newcastle is no Andy Carroll and no Kevin Nolan'. Whilst technically true Carroll was sold nearly 3 months ago so it isn't really relevant in the context of what he is saying and is only done to wind Newcastle fans up...and to be fair it worked for me!

Just watching the highlights on Sky. Allardyce is actually awful - 'Lovenkrands at the very most should have hit the target with a free header' - don't you mean at the very least sam? He also kept calling Williamson Williams until the guy next to him (Rob Hawthorne) quite deliberately emphasised that it was Williamson. There were countless other things that annoyed me last night that I can't remember now, maybe its just a personal thing.

On Betfair Shola and Loven are both 5/1ish to score at any point. Think Loven is more like 15/1 to bag the first with Shola at 12s. Tempted to stick a score on shola anytime but knowing my luck if I do the big lad will limp off after ten minutes. EDIT: Shola back in to 4s, obviously someone was thinking the same

Buzzing for this now. First home game i've watched on TV for three seasons, its usually my luck that the ones I miss aren't on. Hate watching games on the box though, for some reason they seem to have me far more anxious than when i'm in the ground. We can get something tonight, it won't be easy but its doable!!

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

Difficult to back that up given that you have basically admitted that we have not seen enough of him at the start of your post. I would agree, like many, that it appears illogical to have a striker on loan who is scoring goals in La Liga whilst we are trying to decide whether it is best to start Nile Ranger or Shefki Kuqi. -
Shane Ferguson joins Millwall on a permanent deal

Tough start to the day pal! -
Is the reason therefore that the seat may have been free from season ticket holders last year but the fact that people from level 7 now want these seats means it will have to happen on a first come first served basis ? So the reason it hasn't been done on the date it was handed in is possibly because 6 other people from level 7 are trying for the same seat ? Sounds plausible. Sounds like an excuse to me. I would imagine (although correctly me if I am wrong) that most people wanting to move from level 7 to level 4 would simply have put something like 'level 4', 'level 4C' etc. Even if they hadn't they still could have gone through all the requests for moves and given everyone possible their preferred seat by now.

According to that Guthrie is 1/100th of a mile off being the Premier League player who covers the most ground!
