The Athletic subscriptions go towards paying salaries of it's journalists and of any of them, GC deserves respect and for us to not take the piss and post his content for free on a forum. To the best of my knowledge, that knobhead earns nothing for the bollocks they post on Twitter. I share the frustration that their stuff is posted on here mind although I do find their commitment to their persona funny. They just spend the money on booze and tabs you know. They're not really journalists either, they're just pretending to be. You're doing them no favours by giving them your hard earned money.

I think the Sliding Doors moment was actually them staying up in 2016, their trajectory has been nothing but downward since that moment.

What ”things” are going to be going slower? I think the PL's priority is getting the season restarted and any background checks etc are going to take longer. Staveley was told the PRL test could take up to 4 weeks. We are now in the fourth week. You think the takeover will happen this week. And that doesn’t include ”a few days” to transfer the money from the buyer to the seller. So basically it’s not going slower because of the lockdown. It won't all be in PL hands though will it. They'll have to apply to police or whoever to confirm they're not crime, apply to whoever else to verify they're not and have never been banko. Banks will presumably need to verify funds and so on. It's entirely likely that the current circumstances will make that shit take much longer than normal. Has a Saudi prince, Amanda Staveley, the billionaire Reuben brothers or the public investment fund of the state of Saudi Arabia ever been bankrupt should be a pretty fucking easy question to answer. It's the influence over Sheffield United that is the only possible stumbling block. If they were to fail on that point I'd expect that Sheffield United's ownership would change very soon after and then they'd come back in for us. Not sure how it works... But I'm not sure they'll say 'a company in Saudi arabia' will have any influence over Sheff United. We all know who is in charge, but on paper is it actually the Saudi Prince who is being looked into? I hope so, but the chairman of that company in Saudi Arabia is related to the owner of Sheffield United and could have him arbitrarily imprisoned / tortured / executed at the drop of a hat. If that isn't influence I don't know what is. Yes, but if we are dealing in hypotheticals, the American owners of Liverpool could put out a hit on Leicester's chairman; about 50k might be enough to put the Leicester head in genuine danger. Perhaps we should call the police just in case. Well the whole test is a hypothetical matter; could one owner hypnotically hold influence over another. In reality there is absolutely no doubt that Mohammad Bin Salman holds influence (hierarchically, financially and in life and death terms) over the owner of Sheffield United. Whether the Premier League will choose to see it that way or not we'll find out soon, but it clearly is a potential issue.

Seriously what the f*** is wrong with you? I don't really care about some women I've never met and never will, whats wrong with you? Ok you pretend your heart absolutely bleeds for someone you know nothing about, haven't met and will never meet. I'll just be honest with myself instead thanks. I'm more concerned about the insidious influence that the Saudi leadership has on global politics, conflict and religious ideology, which affects everyone's lives and which the murder of Jamal Khashoggi is just a small part of. However, as I said previously in this thread I'm excited as anyone at the prospect of the success they will bring, but that doesn't stop me being uncomfortable about what the Saudi regime represents and I absolutely understand and agree with people protesting against it. Your position is frankly embarrassing... equivalent to the mackems that abused the girl Johnson groomed.

Actually there are three: Grade I, II* and II. About 90% of all listed buildings are Grade II, about 7% Grade II*, Grade I is for buildings of exceptional significance. Architectural and historic significance come from more than just aesthetic value but you need new eyes if you think that Leazes Terrace doesn't stand out, it's a stunning example of Georgian architecture.

How? Explain to me how a Level 7 tier....with the exact same capacity as the opposing Leazes End Level 7 tier...could be added to the Gallowgate Stand when there are office blocks 60 feet away. Even if they could come up with some wizardry that created a floating/hanging tier of that size it would still block out the light for that office block and would thus be objected to by the owner of said office block. In planning terms, impacts on light to offices don't carry the same weight as impacts on residential properties. From my rough measurements on google maps the Gallowgate would only have to be extended about 10m to match the Leazes, a cantilevered design could probably be accommodated without impacting on Strawberry Place.

Inflated sponsorship deals are specifically prohibited - but enforcement of that has to be a nightmare. Didn't City get into trouble with their airline sponsorship? They aren’t. They can’t be inflated by a company which has links with the owners. Everything else is hard to prove. If City, PSG, and Spurs in recent years can gain sponsorship deals 1000’s time higher than any previous deals, it would be hard to argue that other clubs can’t achieve the sale. Eh? First Google search tells me that Man City's Etihad sponsorship was one of the reasons they got banned from the Champions League? https://slate.com/culture/2020/02/manchester-city-banned-champions-league-uefa-sponsorship-scandal.html Unless it wasn't obvious I was referring to Saudi/PIF/Armamco sponsorship? IIRC Man City only got done because emails were leaked proving that they were deliberately using the sponsorship deals to get around FFP.

Roman’s mate probably. Kasparov is a vocal critic of Putin, so probably not. I'm as excited as anyone at the prospect of my club being rich beyond my wildest dreams, and I'm willing to turn a blind eye to that fact that the money will be coming from a terrible, murderous regime, but let's not kid ourselves that the House of Saud is anything other that a terrible, murderous regime. Let's not be cunts about this, these people are not attacking Newcastle United, they have no interest in Newcastle United. They are attacking a terrible murderous, regime and rightly so!

Comments they receive after the deadline and up until the application is determined should still be taken into account. It's not a deadline as such, just the date after which a decision could be made.

My impression is that he has made most of his personal wealth by selling SD shares when they're flying high and buying them back when they're low, rinse and repeat. Based on my completely uninformed and possibly incorrect observations, this current fall in the value of SD might not be as bad for him, or as unforeseen, as it appears.

Yeah, they’ll no doubt grant in retrospect, and it does happen quite often. However it is an indication to Charnley and Ashley that the fans will be on top of everything, and where ever we can, we’ll attack. For those saying it might need permission because it’s illuminated, all signs need planning permission, illuminated or not. The sign for the turnstiles will also go down as a 2nd infringement. To be pedantic, it's advertisement consent not planning permission and, whilst you are technically correct that all advertisements need consent, many forms are advertisement are either excluded from the need for consent or granted deemed consent by the Advertisement Regulations. A turnstile sign would be likely to fall within one of those classes of advertisement benefiting from deemed consent, depending on its size and other factors.
