Never bought that he was going to go there, would be such a sideways move.

Kieran Trippier: to join Wolves on a free (various)
Jackie Broon replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
The Vermont stuff happened in 2023 and coincided with his and the rest of the team's form going to shit that season, and he's been pretty inconsistent ever since -
You all seem to have forgotten how long it took for Bruno to be unveiled.

Kieran Trippier: to join Wolves on a free (various)
Jackie Broon replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
I don't get this view of Trippier, seems lkke a bit of a rewriting of history. Overall he seems to have had a destabilising effect on the squad with his off the pitch 'activities', which others allegedly joined in with, and on the pitch he often went missing and cost us goals. -

I think we should break the bank for Anderson. We need more players in our squad who have the right attitude and love for the club, that is invaluable and vital and if that balance is off everything falls apart. That balance is off at the moment and putting that right will do more than anything to move us forward.
-
And he could easily snap a leg in two. Best to get rid and move on.

It's different in that Milner is a great pro who always tried. His career might take off with a club that he is motivated to play for, but he clearly just isn't for us most of the time.
-
Wasn't it because they sang about Ashley being a fat cockney bastard?
-
His first touch is really inconsistent and he's not good when pressed, often giving the ball away cheaply in dangerous positions. Unless he can improve those areas he'll never be a top level player.
-
Following being knocked out of all three cup competitions and mackem loss I thought he would be gone if he didn't take advantage of the lighter schedule and relatively easy on paper run in to have a strong finish. If anything, we've looked worse than at any point this season.

That's not the right maths. They bought the club for £305m, since then they have put in £558.3m by issuing and buying shares and £172m by buying the St. James Park lease = £1bn That's not counting other undisclosed stuff like the cost of related party sponsorships. 1.5bn is reportedly what they value the club's shares at in seeking to sell a stake in the club. If that is even true, it is likely that is inflated, unrealistic or a negotiating position, it is very unlikely that it reflects what our true value is. Forbes value us at £800m.

It's hard not to, It's hard to pick out anything we've done well this season, it has been a shambles... transfers, tactics, selection, substitutions, game management, motivation, mentality all a fucking shambles.

We were told all season by the Howepy clappers that our poor performances were due to fatigue and not enough time on the training ground. We've actually been worse since. He's grasping around in the dark not knowing what does or doesn't work. There has been absolutely no sign he has the slightest clue how to trun things around for next season.

Seems unlikely given Howe's comments about too many new players being destabilising.
