It does and and it would, I do have a BRE assessment pack at work, but they're a ballache to do.
-
Right to light is a separate civil law issue, I'm taking about planning impacts. That would typically be determined by a BRE daylight and sunlight assessment.

The East Stand is actually very optimised in terms of its use of space, the back rows of seating are cantilevered over the back of the stand. To build a tier above would almost certainly require a supporting structure and facilities behind the existing stand. I have doubts whether there is much or any scope to build a taller stand without likely unacceptable residential amenity / hetitage impacts anyway.
-
It doesn't, excuse the shit drawing but this illustrates why it doesn't make a difference. Capacity is determined by a stand's depth, not its angle.

Same, I can't remember when I last continously watched MOTD. Can't wait to watch it tonight, and the club highlights, then the extended highlights, then the match cam

I'm not disputing what you're saying and happy to be proven wrong but I just can't see any potential to expand the East Stand. There's only about 17m between the current East Stand and Leazes Terrace, 7m between it 1-4 St James' Terrace, which is also listed (albeit Grade 2) and it is 10m from 7-11 St James Street, also Grade 2 listed. The stand is already cantilevered and probably takes up the smallest footprint it possibly could. I just don't see how any expansion of it is going to be feasible without unacceptable impacts on those listed buildings (including demolition of 4 St James' Terrace at very least). There would be more complex assessment of impacts on light but as a rule of thumb 15m would typically be the minimum distance allowed between a three storey building and a ground floor window. A glazed roof wouldn't make much/any difference because it would be the back of the stand that would probably have the impact, not the roof. So 17m is not a lot to play with, it might already be at or over the limit of what is acceptable in terms of height and proximity.

Only once they are registered, pre-applcation advice is generally dealt with confidentially. Also, there may be elements of planning applications that are not public, like financial information. It's rare for planning officers to be asked to sign NDAs, butI know someone who was the case officer for a PL stadium application and had to sign an NDA for stuff related to that that.

Thanks for the like to remind me what a fucking idiot I was @Optimistic Nut

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

No one, apart from Pope and Trippier, came out of yesterday looking good. He'll always have both matches when he's unplayable and matches where he's frustrating, but we've now got other creative outlets and we're both not reliant on him any more and he's less likely to be man-marked out of games. He's worth the frustration for those times when he's unplayable, which I think will probably increase now he's not the focal point of our creativity. -
Yeah, I saw somewhere that Staveley's share had reduced with the previous injections of cash.
-
I was thinking the same after today's result, we're two points off where they were after 14 games, and but for VAR should be at least level. All the big 6 underperforming but for Arsenal and Man City, and Arsenal will fall apart at some point because it's what they do. Man City will probably walk it in the end but if they hit a bad patch we could do a Leicester (although I don't think that's very likely and I'd be very happy with just getting in the top 7).

And then pulling it down to speak

Wife has just commented "is that Ralf Hashishoodup?"

I think the West Stand stood for 83 years.

"Strategic communications and reputational protection" according to his website. Would you take advice on "reputational protection" from that man

It's not just the Saudis, this is Staveley's PR advisor.

The market value for naming rights seems to be about £15m per year. I wouldn't be happy with replacing stadium name for that, maybe an addition to the name but that's not worth losing the name St. James' Park for.

It was ment as a playful reference to you being one of the few brexiteer posters in the brexit thread, iirc.

But unicorns, they'd be fine, eh?

They're hardly a random addition, they're from Newcastle's coat of arms, dating back to the 16th century.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
Jackie Broon replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
I don't think Dalglish had much choice in Ginola, Ferdinand and Batty leaving and although he made some shocking buys too, Given, Speed, Solano and Haman (and to a lesser extent Dabizas) were fantastic singings. Keegan wanted to leave because he could see what was coming with the floatation of the club, which was effectively been run by a banker called Mark Corbridge, and Keegan was effectively sacked rather than let him finish out the 96/97 season. The name Corbridge should really be down there with the likes of Ashley, Wise, Llambias and Jimenez. -

It's amazing how easily influenced people are, the amount of people that parrot the 'he's a nice bloke' line without any actual objective indication that's the case, quite the opposite. West Brom fans still trotting shite that out. -
It took a bit of finding again, in the end I found it by Googling 'Alex Hurst features me' and it was the top result
