  1. Aye, was this reported, at all, in the Journal or Chronicle?

Of course not. NCJ works for the club. Baffling that people don't realise this...

Yet if they'd reported it you'd probably have said it was just a rehashing of quotes.

I wouldn't have... Their pro-club bias is so obvious, can't see how people don't realise who they work for.

Meanwhile, United are no further towards making a breakthrough in their hunt for a second striker. A club source has rubbished links with Caen striker Youssef El-Arabi while a move for their priority target Paris Saint Germain’s Mevlut Erdinc has stalled.

Struggling to think of who we could be after in France.

Can't see why we wouldn't be interested in El-Arabi. He was fantastic last season - and would be the perfect partner/alternative to Ba. Very strange if true.

I imagine our French-based target will be someone like Modibo Maiga, Olivier Giroud or Loic Remy (ambitious). As for our Spanish target I'd go for Rondon, maybe someone like Pablo Osvaldo?

    :snod:

  4. Whats in a name?? we are still NUFC what does it matter.  Don't tell me I'm not a true supporter because I'm a born and bred geordie and supported the club fo nearly 60 years.  Times change, it's time to move on, we are in a big money business initially due to Sky TV things have changed. To be honest I was very anti Ashley but credit where it's due he has dug the club out of a massive hole left by Freddy Shepherd & Co, we have brought in some geat 'unknown' players and eventually some stability.  Time would bew better spent supporting Ashley and taking the blinkers off.

Youre obviously happy with Ashley and co Lying to the supporters, Treating everyone and the clubs history with total disrespect, the Keegan Hughton Shearer etc fiascos, The tacky signs covering the stadium, Renaming SJP.

So where would you draw the 'line'?

Sports Direct as shirt sponsor - with proof in the accounts that no fee is being paid?

Red and blue striped away kit?

Newcastle United F.C. becoming Sports Direct Newcastle F.C..?

For #nufc fans asking about Northern Rock, deal runs out end of season. My info is that it was always to be reviewed at end of each season

He' such a s**** journalist, unless he's towing the party line.

The deal was agreed till 2014 - providing we are playing in the premier league every year.

Indeed but it's been made aware recently that there was a get-out clause in the contract which could be activated after 2 years - something which Northern Rock has decided to take up.

Anything from Northern Rock on this? No mention of a clause before...

  6. You don't do yourself any favours, Colocho

I want to say he's a really, really poor man's Ronaldo but even that feels a little harsh on Ronaldo.

say what you want. you don't know me.

  7. The re-naming of a football stadium isn't the sort of issue that the government should be getting involved in. They should have other things to think about.

Like what? the next country we can nick natural resources from, or the next oligarch that needs a brown envelope.

a government should serve it's people - that is the point of the 100,000 signature petition initiative.

  8.

FWIW I don't think that means we should raise income from any source. The stadium name I think should be sacred. Just to clarify like.

Newcastle United, St James' Park and the black and white shirt are the only three things which shouldn't change.  I wasn't that bothered with the @St James' Park change as we still retained the name, that's now gone.

And then the shirt will be 'gone'.

  9. Some people believe they have an intention of selling the stadium naming rights? What kind of company will take up a deal with a club that has Sports Direct logos plastered all over it?

  10. sydneycove not doing his 'we can have a football culture too!!' argument much good here.

Meh I can stand and drink beer whilst at my seat when I go to games you can keep your British football culture ;)

That is about as far as your 'culture' goes, tbh. Well, that an the theft of land/genocide of a people.
