Good game - some lapses in concentration but compared to some of our past performances against lower league teams I am well happy

Think they have played well - nothing like Bolton

I hate this. Every idiot is now going to be claiming our defending has been bad, when it has been brilliant all night. Just some really silly jammy goals so don't even go there. The defenders are slipping up a bit because they are now tiring. I completely agree. For the 90 mins we looked as good at the back as we have in many a year. Beye is immense, Colo looks superb, Bassong very assured and Enrique spot on. Can't understand people having a pop. Must've been watching a different game to me.

Was anybody at the under 18 game he was in ?- he got a very good write up in the journal.

Anybody think that this story and the Saviola speculation could be to put pressure on Owen? We seem to be much more open about Saviola than previous targets and as has been said this £140k could be the very top end of an incentive package. If he turns it down looks like a greedy bastard while alternatives are being lined up.

"I know there is too many post saying ive got Aunties Brother Uncles at Everton and shit but my brother works for Mercedes in Liverpool and they deal with the Everton and Liverpool player and staff cars. His friend has been to Finch Farm this morning to drop off a car and he said that Alan Smith was there, so maybe it is true. " They have worse ITKs than us even. Cant see them (or anybody else) paying him 60k

What does he do then since you obviously know him? I do know him -did a training course with him under Bobby Kerr - top bloke, Frank has classic small man syndrome tbh

Lazy twat - use google Translation: Spanish » English ? Colotte can substitute The sport already has contacted the Mexican central Argentine Atlas of 27 years, a potential candidate for the post of Coloccini if he goes to Newcastle. 11:19 votes this press release Colotte celebrates his goal last Saturday with Atlas in the first day of the Mexican Clausura. L. O. Related news The Depor,-seeded in the draw on Friday. Sports Mercedes CERN. A Coruña. As stated Miguel Angel Lotina on Monday, Deportivo is already working to find a substitute to Fabricio Coloccini to the more than likely departure from Central to Newcastle. The white club has been in contact with the representative of Argentine Diego Colotte, defense Atlas Mexican 27 years, sources close to the player and ensure that next weekend, a representative of the entity coruñesa will travel to Mexico to negotiate his signing. After training with Atlas in the afternoon yesterday, Colotte was left wanting. "I was always going to play in Europe illusion, is a yearning that God and I want that at some point be able to fulfil. They have to spend a lot of things, but hopefully at some point to play there, test the market and prove to me," assured footballer, Central left-handed, the former Estudiantes de la Plata Argentine and Mexican Tecos. "I like Europe, and one of the most important markets is Spanish, but I am calm, I am thinking of Atlas, doing things right," added the player who dropped that "time will be decided" and he sent a clear message to his club: "If anything, or if not, the directive is very open in that sense and I am calm." Despite that Colotte publicly denies any contact with Depor because the Mexican league has already started last weekend and are in full season, the truth is that his agent, Paul Sabbag, and he has conveyed the Herculine interest of the club to become its services and both expect a representative of Deportivo, who could visit them next weekend taking advantage of the team is on tour in South America. Although the 2008 Apertura championship has already begun in Mexico and two weeks ago that the market was closed for signings at the national level, in the Aztec country there is a rule that allows a player to sell whenever a foreign league, with the possibility of the team recruited another player to replace him. This difficulty could be one of the obstacles to the directors of Atlas refused to let out his club captain. Colotte, which owns indisputable with Brindissi, current coach of Atlas, had already made public at the time that had offers from Spanish and Italian football. The Lazio wanted Fiche but the Mexican club did not allow his departure, although the fact that Deportivo will enter a significant amount of money by transferring Coloccini, and good relationship with Atlas Lendoiro after hiring Guardado could make change your mind. Colotte is a year throughout Mexico, with which dispute its third tournament. It is left-handed, has played in defence of four five footballers, I could act as libero and, like his compatriot Coloccini, has scored goals lately: four in the Clausura 2007, two in the Copa Interliga last Saturday and scored the first goal in the Jaguares of Chiapas 5-0 on the first day. Latest from the depor forum http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/news.php SEARCHING A REPLACEMENT FOR ‘COLO’ 30 Jul 2008 -- The exit of Fabricio Coloccini continues to be stuck. Newcastle United hasn’t made any new contact with Deportivo, while Lendoiro still firm in his position. However, the club already started to search for a replacement. Actually, coach Lotina used the long trip to Venezuela in order to watch videos of possible replacements. No novelties in the case of Fabricio Coloccini. His agent, Marcelo Lombilla, announced he was leaving Spain, but some reports in the radio appoint that he hasn’t left yet the country. At the same time nobody from Newcastle United has contacted the Galician club in order to soften the positions. President Lendoiro was asking for a meeting with the officials from the Premiership club, but there wasn’t any answer, apparently they prefer to negotiate through Lombilla. Meanwhile, no advance is expected to occur within the next days, mainly because president Lendoiro could travel in the next hours in order to join the squad in its tour through Venezuela. The president delayed his trip in order to stay alert about any novelty related to Coloccini’s case, but he might suspend the trip in case of any communication from England. At the same time, Newcastle’s squad is traveling in order to play a friendly match in Mallorca. The media in La Coruña is convinced the deal is near to occur, especially since the main obstacle seems to be the method of payment offered by ‘the Toons’. In case Newcastle’s €12 million proposition is accepted, it will be the fifth biggest selling operation in Deportivo’s history. Just behind the ones of Rivaldo (€24 million), Flavio Conceiçao (€24 million), Roy Makaay (€19 million) and Albert Luque (€14 million). This last one also made with Newcastle United. Despite the operation seems to be blocked, the club is already searching for a replacement. Something admitted by the same Lotina before the travel to Venezuela, as he said to reporters in his way to the airport “It seems the operation is going ahead and that means we would have to search for a player with the conditions of Coloccini. I am not talking about a player with the same level, there are some interesting things and we are taking some videos with us in order to study the options in the plane. On Saturday, when we knew there was an offer, we started to look for central defenders. We’ve a clear idea and we’re waiting for the confirmation in order to put a name over the table of the president” What gave a clue about what Lotina wants was his description of the options he’s studying right now “We’ve some players that we like and that can find a quick adaptation to Spanish football, because the ones that we like the most are not playing in Spain. There’s one that’s a left-footed player, other is right-footed and has played on the left in a line of three central defenders. ” La Voz de Galicia reported on Tuesday that the right-footed option that has played on the left in non other than Sotirios Kyrgiakos (29). Greek player that has performed the last two seasons for Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany. He ended his contract in June and is currently a free-agent, however it has been speculated that AEK Athens is interested in him and that this club is offering a salary of €1 million per season to the player. According to La Voz, the left-footed player mentioned by Lotina is Jonathan Pablo Bottinelli (23). Argentinean defender that plays at San Lorenzo. Depor already followed the defender in the past summer and he possesses an EU-passport. The problem with him is that he will need an adaptation process; also that Depor will need to pay for his services. Actually on Friday it was informed by Argentinean sportpaper Olé that Panathinaikos is offering €4 million for the 50% of his rights, the other half of the player’s rights belongs to a private corporation. Meanwhile, other sources are mentioning different names. For example Marca is appointing to Efstathios Tavlaridis (28) as the main option for Lotina. The Greek played before at Arsenal, Portsmouth and Lille OSC, he signed a three-year contract with Saint-Etienne during the past season. Other source, Deporte Campeón (DxT), mentioned the name of Marko Basa (25) from Le Mans. He is half-Montenegrin from his father's side, while he’s mother is a Serb from Trstenik. He has played with Le Mans since the year 2005 and already completed 88 matches in Ligue 1. Other option mentioned by DxT is Sébastien Puygrenier (28), but the French was recently signed by FC Zenit. Other name is coming from Argentina. Radio La Red informed that Deportivo has been asking for Diego Daniel Colotto, Argentinean central defender that has been playing for Atlas de Guadalajara since 2007. Colotto won the U-20 FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 2001. He possesses an Italian passport and according to some reports in Mexico, his transfer has been valued in $4 million (€2.57 million).

Dont believe but if it happens http://www.eleven-a-side.com/acrossthewater/news.asp?n=33350 Duff linked to Ewood return July 29, 2008 Newcastle United winger Damien Duff could well be on his way back to the club where he made his name as Blackburn Rovers are reported to be interested in the Irish international. Key links: Messageboard login View forum index Start new thread As David Bentley looks set for a move to Spurs as they splash the cash gained from the transfer of Duff’s international teammate Robbie Keane to Liverpool, the Ewood outfit have moved swiftly to find a replacement. Although a naturally left winger, Duff has been deployed on the right wing by Chelsea, Newcastle and Ireland on occasions with moderate success. Rovers’ manager Paul Ince is keen to make the 27-year-old his first major signing since taking over from Mark Hughes and the Blackburn fans would love to see Duff back at the club. The ’95 Premiership champions will receive in the region of €20 million for Bentley from Spurs and Duff would cost them in the region of €8 million. The Dubliner has not had the best of times since moving to Newcastle as injury has severely hampered his career in the past two seasons, but he has looked impressive during pre-season.

Hasn't been a badly translated quote for ages. http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/news.php THE LATEST ON COLOCCINI 29 Jul 2008 -- The agent of Colocini, Marcelo Lombilla, talked with reporters before travelling back to Argentina. Once again he blamed Lendoiro for the failure in the operation with Newcastle United. Lombilla assured that Depor’s president is asking for two more million and to change the number of payments to be made by ‘the Toons’. Marcelo Lombilla flied back on Monday’s evening to Argentina after failing to convince Lendoiro about Newcastle United’s proposal for defender Fabricio Coloccini. He confirmed the amount of the operation was reaching the €12 million “We must think this part of the negotiation is over, Lendoiro has to understand there’s nothing else. If there were more options, I would be staying. Just to clarify the things, this possibility with Newcastle appeared three months ago when the most important offer was for eight million euro. They even presented a better offer, one for eleven million plus one additional million for objectives. Therefore we are talking about an offer for twelve million euro. Evidently he (Lendoiro) believes there’s more, but there isn’t!” Lombilla also revealed that Lendoiro is asking for two more million in order to accept Coloccini’s exit “Newcastle's offer began in eight million and I refused to bring it, I felt it was something impractical, a waste of time. We were two and a half months working on this until they reached eleven million euro, on yesterday’s morning (Sunday) they released almost one more million for objectives and they also changed the method of payment from the usual four fractions, something Lendoiro always do with his transfers. They ended with that proposal, an offer that was something to break the situation and when I spoke with Augusto, he asked me for two more million and another method of payment… he still pulling the string and is no longer possible, I leave for that reason.” Coloccini’s agent also denied any contact from Tottenham Hotspurs “The player is wanted in several places, but the English league is what seduces him the most, in both senses, economic and sporting as well. It was proposed to Fabricio a five-year contract with a salary that’s doubling his current wages. There wasn’t any other offer that was not coming from Newcastle. Well, there were others, but always impossible to accept or even to be presented to the president, because I thought it was a lack of respect. I read something that came out of Tottenham. I know personally Juande Ramos, I have a good relationship with him and there was great interest, but no offers. The only one exceeding the ten million, which I knew that could satisfy the president, was the one of Newcastle. And it was also interesting for the player, because there are other markets that aren’t interesting for Fabricio.” Finally, Lombilla assured that Coloccini is not refusing to travel to Venezuela, his absence for the South American tour is due the physical condition of the defender "If he hasn’t travelled is surely because he isn’t physically fit and still has to make that part of the season the rest of players have already done. This is not some kind of pressure, no one here does that, the only measure of strength that I should do, and I'm still thinking of it, is using an article of FIFA when you have a certain age and a few years of contract (such as Matuzalem in Zaragoza) But this is something that I don’t want to try in La Coruña, that’s clear. Another thing that should be cleared is that the absence of the player from the tour is not a decision of Coloccini, it was something agreed between him and the club, to not been forced to solve this situation with Coloccini in Venezuela. They may want to take a few days to continue evaluating the offer and to realise there’s nothing more than that, nothing is hided, is only there’s nothing more. " During Monday’s night, president Lendoiro confirmed to Radio Galega that no advance has been made about the case. Meanwhile, rumours about possible replacements started to appear in the media on the same Monday. Galician sportpaper Deporte Campeón (DxT) published a list of ten names that Depor is studying in order to replace the possible departure of the Argentinean defender. Between the names mentioned are the ones of: Jonathan Botinelli (San Lorenzo, 23), Jonathan Maidana (Boca Juniors, 22), Bruno Alvés (Porto, 26), Rubén Pulido (Almeria, 29) and even Roberto Fabian Ayala (Zaragoza, 32).
