  1. Pretty much this, especially the last part. Would love him back.
  2. does seem to be a position we sre targetting if the merveaux and n'zogbia rumours were true. Despite Jonas' very good performance on Tuesday, I think we all know that we still need to improve that position. I'd love Guardado, don't know much about Marveaux but I'd have N'Zogbia back, if Wigan go down I reckon we'll get him. as left back ? Was it Roeder who tried that? Allardyce wasn't it. bought jose but wouldn't play him. Aye I remember now, Zog at LB, Alan Smith on the right, kin hell

  5. discussions would be interesting...."come in my geordie friend, care to sit at the nufc sponsored desk in our nufc sponsored board room, right the lads worth 2mill so shall we say 8 ? We sure have given them a fair wedge over the years Been frustratingly injury prone these last two years, but he is a very good winger. Noticed he hasn't played much for Depor recently, looked good at the WC though.
  6. Not a top priority but how about Andres Guardado from Deportivo? You can never have too much creativity in the midfield. Bolton and Villa reportedly after him.
  7. Howay Sporting! Great job getting the away goal. Fernandez is top draw.
  8. Really looking forward to this game. I'd love to get 6 points from our next two home games. We'd be in a great position to finish 7th and possibly get Europe if we did.
  9. If he goes anywhere I want it to be Barcelona, failing that Man U, but Barca look like they could use a left back.
  10. 4-4 Well yes I'll always have that and the 1-0 at the Emirates over him.
  11. My Arsenal supporting housemate is going to be insufferable tonight.
  12. Arsenal need to get Song off. He's been a liability tonight.
  13. Fabregas has just been marked out of the game. Arsenal are panicky, Walcott has been ineffective as has Van Persie. Nasri is trying to make things happen with little success, Wilshere Arsenal's best player. What is impressive about Barca imo is there pressure off the ball, they have 2 or 3 players on Fabregas everytime he touches the ball.
  14. Would love us to get Europe. The financial benefits would be great and European nights at SJP are great. If, and I know its a big if, we add to the squad we could make decent progress and do ok in the league.
  15. Saw an old mate at a party a while back, Everton fan, Coloccini's name got brought up, he jumped on the old "he's shit" bandwagon. I quickly put that to rest. On the flip side a couple of my mates, one Wolves fan and a Forest fan, acknowledged that Enrique is quality a long time ago.
  16. Absolute cake walk. Birmingham really are shit, we totally bossed that. Harper 7 - Didn't have much to do, but was safe as houses when he did. Simpson 6 - Bentley gave him a bit of trouble, but other than that he did ok. Coloccini 8 - Top draw, him and Williamson just made Zigic look like a big lump of shit and raped Martins with the offside trap. Williamson 8 - See above. Enrique 8 - Never troubled. Laughed when Jerome tried to beat him late on. Barton 6 - Not his best game, delivery was inconsistent today. Nolan 6 - Decent battling performance in the middle. Tiote 8 - Bossed it once again, great performance. Jonas 9 - Man of the Match. 2 crosses, 2 goals. His best performance in a long time. Best 8 - Cracking game from him, good header for the goal, hold up play was good and he won a lot in the air. Lovenkrands 7 - Decent from him, looked a threat and took his goal well. Ranger 5 Guthrie 5 Sol 5

    Your all time XI

no Pele FFS but Beckham? Must be a ManU supporter :idiot2: Man U supporter fuck off I've seen very little of Pele outside of his World Cup goals whereas I've seen plenty of footage of Moore and Banks. I have read Pele's autobiography and found it a very interesting read. Don't know why the selection of Beckham is so laughable, the guy has won pretty much everything apart from the World Cup, has been the model pro throughout his career and I've still yet to see a player that can cross a ball like him. I was there to witness the famous Scholes volley against Bradford City and it was a sight to behold. Absolutely perfect delivery from Beckham.
  18. There's no scaremongering ffs. We were f*cked. It might have involved administration or it might have involved someone with wings coming in to bale us out but tell me how you get out of the shyte we were in and you've got an audience. I never said we weren't 'f***ed', or that I could explain anything, aren't you even reading my posts? I disputed the notion that the club MAY NOT EXIST. Something that hasn't happened to any club anywhere near the top division, not even Leeds or Portsmouth. Am I right in saying you are replying to a point made by neesy? That's correct in this thread, but it has been cited by a number of people previously. For what its worth theres no way the club would of 'ceased to exisit' but i'm willing to sacrifice a couple years of ambition as long as it leads to us being in a strong enough position financially to eventually become ambitioous again. I've seen and heard enough to suggest that we will see decent investment sometime but i dont think it's anytime soon. I do believe that relegation has helped the club on a number of fronts and was beneficially on many fronts as the club was rotten to the core. Usually you have to take a step back to make 2 steps forward and gain that forward momentum to make progress, it could be like that with us. If we stay up this year, then it has been, even if we do sell the likes of Enrique and Tiote I won't be overly fussed as long as they're replaced and neither go to fucking Liverpool. Hopefully one day soon we'll be in a strong enough position for Ashley to be ready to sell up.

    Your all time XI

Like I said, just my opinion. Beckham crossing balls into Shearer though
  20. Probably been done before but the Ronaldo thread had me thinking about my all time XI. I'd go with: Banks Cafu Moore Maldini R.Carlos Beckham Zidane Xavi C.Ronaldo Shearer Ronaldo That's just my opinion, I swapped out Giggs for C.Ronaldo, but I think it works either way. An outstanding Goalkeeper, two full backs that like to attack, two rocks in the centre of defence. Beckham, the best crosser of the ball ever imo, on the right, Zidane given free reign with Xavi sitting and orchestrating things and C.Ronaldo another with sort of a free reign. Shearer and Ronaldo up top just guarantees goals. Difficult to leave Messi out and have C.Ronaldo in, that is a contentious point certainly. A very attack minded team but one that would be able to keep possession well and score bags of goals from the strikers and from midfield. Also the options at set pieces would be ridiculous.

    Ronaldo

That would have been a dream partnership

    Ronaldo

Batistuta 397 goals in 550 appearances (including international & excluding his time in Qatar) 0.72 goals per game Van Basten 277 in 370 appearances (including international) 0.74 goals per game Shevchenko is pretty much 1 in 2. That Batistuta one is pretty phenomenal considering he spent most of his career at Fiorentina.
