  1. came in at 11/1 for a return of just over £18. Gonna copy that acca O-Nut did, looks good to me.
  2. Bramble always had one fuck up and one mint pass per game like almost like he had a quota to fill. He used to batter a fair few clearances out for a goal kick from his own half too.

    Players in public

Spent two hours at work the other day lugging sofas and chairs about so that none other than Steve Cram, celebrity fan could give a speech to the Uni athletics society. He seemed areet in fairness to him, for a mackem anyway. I stopped short of getting an autograph and photo.
  4. His final ball is utterly shite. Sick to death of seeing him get past his man and then waft the ball out for a throw in on the other side. There's a good player in there somewhere though. That said, he shouldn't be starting games for us, or even being our go-to-guy on the bench. He needs a good 6 months in the Championship or League One and fucking fast.
  5. At least Bramble's long balls went out for a goal kick. He managed to give the opposition possession a good 40 yards further back than Williamson does every single fucking time.

    Nile Ranger

He's been the only positive tonight, aside from maybe Elliot. Agree with Dave though, never looks like scoring.
  7. I'm not too worried but Pardew bringing on the senior players is fucking stupid and at the end of the day it's another game that we've lost.
  8. Marseille/Udinese double Plzen/Young Boys/Lazio treble Shola FGS (Sky doing 10/1) Draw HT/NUFC FT
  9. Personally, I'd have probably started Amalfitano instead of Marveaux and saved him for Fulham. But good team nonetheless.
  10. That looks canny, actually. Campbell on the bench.
  11. That's absolutely bogus. What a crock of shit.
  12. Celtic, Bayern, Man U treble @ 2/1 Optimistic 5 draws acca Optimistic 'underdogs' acca (10p wins £198,000 or summat) Doubles on the underdogs acca

  14. After Tiote's absolutely bogus red card and Coloccini's which to me wasn't really that clear cut either, I could not give a shit if Wigan are at all miffed about the pen and red card. About time a borderline decision went our way.
  15. He was better last night like, I wouldn't say he was particularly great but he was far improved imo. Hopefully that clean sheet will give him a bit of confidence.
  16. Despite our ball retention not being as good as I'd like it to be, I couldn't help but feel that we seemed to play a lot less long balls today and there was a much better emphasis on trying to keep hold of possession. Anita was once again magnificent for the third game in a row, and I was delighted to see what looked like a real breakout performance from Marveaux. A few of his runs with the ball reminded me of Ben Arfa and that's quite a compliment. All in all, another forwards step in terms of performance from Stoke and the result we needed, and a clean sheet will hopefully give the defence some confidence. I thought that the pen was blatant when I first saw it and then on seeing it again have moved into the 'seen them given but maybe not' sort of area. We've had absolutely fuck off refs all this season though with those shitty red cards for Colo and Tiote so I couldn't give a fuck tbh. We looked fairly comfortable and Wigan never really looked like scoring.
  17. Home games against the also-rans are where Marveaux should be featuring.
  18. I was gonna watch a stream/listen in the library while I get a bit of essay writing done, but seeing as there's a pub within 30 seconds walk I could always nip over for the second half if we're in the lead.
  19. Tempted to just listen to the 5live commentary, can't be arsed to watch.
  20. I get a horrible feeling he'll see three at the back as an excuse to play two conventional forwards so we can score, except the rest of the plan won't come off, we'll get swamped and end up losing. Late night atmospheres are always the best, this is as good a chance of kick-starting our season (someone will win cliche bingo now I've said that)
