If we field a team that doesn't include Simpson, Smith, Shola, Obertan and Lovenkrands I'll probably be fairly pleased.
Anyone reckon he might start Perch in midfield?
I'd like to see this team:
Krul
R.Taylor
Coloccini
Williamson
Santon
Ben Arfa
Abeid
Cabaye
Vuckic
Ferguson
Best
...however I'm already convinced Obertan, Shola and Lovenkrands will probably see pitch time, sadly. Jonas needs a rest at some point too, not that he'll get it like.
GG:
"been quality all season, calm and collected ball-playing centre-back who'd look a lot better in an actual football team. bit short, which is why he's been overlooked by bigger clubs for so long. would cost at least £2.5m though."
He looks to be very competent in the centre of midfield, actually. I know he's only been playing sub-20 minute cameos there, but that's all we have to go on right now. He did well today.
I completely disagree. He had a poor game today by anyone's standards but he's anything but a 'disgrace' of a centre-half. He's proven to be a very competent defender at this level, who has the odd poor game. Everyone's favourite Coloccini was rather shite today too but you don't see many people laying into him. No way can you make a scapegoat of Williamson today.
I don't particularly see today as Pardew's fault, although I can't help but wonder what the fuck he said at half-time. Probably handed round a box of Cubans and said 'job done'.
An optimistic HT/FT bet of Fulham/Newcastle at 28/1, just a quid.
Also went:
Chelsea
West Ham
Cardiff
Stoke
forget the odds, this was £2
and also a 5x2 BTS bet in the Championship and League 1, about 20/1, £1
