  1. How? The players hated him. We hadn't won for 7 games before he had his heart problem. We didn't look in too bad a position though. I reckon in those games Hughton/Calderwood took charge of we'd have gained at least an extra 2 points under Kinnear and he'd have probably gained at least an extra couple from Shearer's games. He might have been a clueless twat but if he stayed till May there'd have been far less 'turmoil' or 'uncertainty' or whatever you want to call it surrounding the club. He was a stabilising influence on the club, that's pretty much all I can say positive about the man.
  2. No it wasn't, if Kinnear was here from the day he was appointed to the end of the season we'd have stayed up easily imo.
  3. Newcastle 0-0 Bristol City Liverpool 3-0 Newcastle Aston Villa 1-0 Newcastle Newcastle 0-1 Fulham Newcastle 1-5 Liverpool Tottenham 1-0 Newcastle Need I go on? All of those games we barely had a shot on target, and for me, that equates to a worse performance. Yes, Smith was shit, Carroll was isolated, Enrique had an off day and Perch was crap in the final third, but we still created enough chances to win the game. Don't you see? It's hardly the end of the world. EDIT: actually, discount the Bristol City game, that was similar to yesterday - visiting keeper plays well.
  4. As far as I'm concerned, I was sure Villa would beat us and that we'd beat Blackpool. In terms of our points total (yes, I am aware that Blackpool having three points off us is worse than Villa having them) it changes little in my eyes.
  5. The performance against Liverpool was shocking though, we literally looked clueless. Remember Geremi looking puzzled as to whether we were setting up 4-5-1 or 3-5-2. This performance was far better as we had the lion share of the chances. The two don't compare. EDIT: In fact, if I'm thinking of the right game, we had no shots on target all game, apart from Viduka netting two when he'd drifted about three yards offside like a Sunday morning player. The team performance was shit and we were dominated from start to finish. Totally different. I see this as one of those irritating results you get on FM, you have more shots and possession and ultimately lose to a crap team. It's immensely frustrating but it simply happens from time to time.
  6. Could lipread Hughes clearly there. "He's broke his fucking ankle"
  7. That second Chelsea goal. It's not that easy being green.....
  8. Almost identical to N'Zogbia's non-challenge on Marlon King in the Hull defeat.
  9. At least MOTD aren't doing their usual trick of making a game we dominated look like an even one. Anyone watching this with no prior knowledge would be able to see we fucking bossed it.
  10. That Nolan chance looks easier every time I see it. If he'd scored that, I'd not be moaning about how shite he was today.
  11. I'm fairly sure that at the end of the relegation season, Butt must have passed the incriminating photographs he had of all the staff at the club onto Nolan.
  12. Aye, shame the pundits have been wanktastic.
  13. Fucking top game that, there's always a few crackers in the Championship.
  14. Harper Perch Coloccini Williamson Enrique Routledge Tiote Barton Ben Arfa Carroll Lovenkrands (Jonas needs a rest imo)
  15. You mean the same team that has played pretty well until today? Kneejerking fool. Read the post you dim f***. He was correct to go unchanged today, however if he leaves in certain players, particularly Smith and Nolan, for the next game then there's no way he's up to scratch. I'm a Hughton fanboy btw, I'd say the same if we had f***ing Mourinho in charge. So if he starts the same team (which wasn't outplayed today) and has also been decent in the last 2 PL games, he should be sacked on the spot?? .. and you were the one who called me a dim f***.. honestly. The team weren't outplayed but Smith handed Blackpool a goal and Nolan did fuck all and stopped running after an hour. Those two need replacing for next week. And you are a dim fuck, and obviously a mong to boot. Just look at your avatar.

  17. If there's a positive from that tackle, it's that Hughton might replace the stupid gimp with Tiote next week.
  18. As much as this is a pathetic result, it's the reaction in the next game, both from Hughton (his selection) and the players that is important.
  19. Utterly pathetic. Way to go lads, one step forwards and two steps back.
  20. He wants sacking on the spot unless he changes the team after that fucking debacle.
