Really good match between Bayern and AC Milan so far. It's pretty much been all Bayern first half. Would people say that the German league is the stronger of the two now? The Seria A has fallen a fair bit in recent times.

Great by Gomez there until the shot.

It's been a great game so far. Kroos' free kick was very close.

Nice goal by Ibra, can't beat route one football. Like Ibra's attempt at Andy Carroll's crap ponytail anarl.

McCleish's a decent pundit, at least seems to know what he's talking about. Shame it didn't help him in his management career.

It's weird thinking Danny Simpson didn't back off quick enough. zing

Wenger keen on Wigan's James McCarthy according to sky sports. How many more midfielders do they need?

50 million is a very optimistic figure, I don't think any fans really expected that amount to be spent though. I was hoping to see us strengthen more though, because with the loss of Nolan, and surely Enrique now we haven't really strengthened a great deal. At the end of the day, when Pardew said reinvestment into the club, a lot of us took that to mean investment into buying new players. That's not been the case, with improvements to facilities, player wages and agent fees eating into the cash.

Are you honestly saying you think the club will have made £50m+ profit last season? He didn't say we made that much last season, the 50million is this seasons tv cash. Don't you get paid TV money after the season based on how many times you featured, not at the beginning? Regardless, there's is no way Mike Ashley will have made £50m from NUFC in the past season. I thought you got the standard bit of cash at the start of the season, then got more depending on the number of appearances. I think we should have had somewhere in the region of 40million to spend if the Carroll money was to be used on players + a tiny slice of tv money. What would have happened if we hadn't sold Carroll? Ashley would have had to give some of the TV cash to the club to spend on new players, it's not unreasonable to expect some of that money to be used in this transfer window.
