This. Made the entire interview worthwhile tbh. And I thought he was correct re: Stoke. We dealt with Stoke's long throws and set plays fine. It was general mistakes cost us.

Admits Steven Taylor was poor, and would have played Guthrie instead of Simpson if he had to choose again. Much better.

"One or two players in in the summer" ...

Wolves' top league scorer has 6, not 5 Alan. Pardew needs to fire his Facts Department.

I didn't catch it, but that sounds like he means we won't be signing 'big' names - where does that suggest that we won't sign anyone? I said 'big'. He was saying we have to wait and see how things evolve. Sounded like he meant 'see if anyone else signs them first'.

Stephen Ireland is not 22 you utter mongoloid.

Already downplaying our chances of making big signatures in the summer. Great. Why can't we just sign people like everyone else manages to, Alan!?

"Everton were just better on the day. We have to accept that." Maybe cause you played Steven fucking Taylor at RB, Alan.

One thing that has become clear is that N-O is in no way indicative of fan attitudes amongst the general support. Sometimes that's a good thing, and sometimes it isn't. The appreciation for Steven Taylor is a fine example of the latter.

Note to Barton: If you're going to assault someone, just do it off camera and you'll be fine.

Who the hell's Dave Vera Lynn..

He must be completely f***ing fed up. Aye, he's a footballer and he's still getting paid but to know you have the ability and not be able to get on the pitch must be heartbreaking. He's been there nearly 4 years now and I barely even think of him as a Man Utd player. This is it. You've got to feel for the lad. Absolutely gut-wrenching luck with injuries. His only hope is to have a solid pre-season someone and rebuild his strength up completely. He should go to a Championship team or something, with less pressure. Then again, he's exactly the sort of person we'd try and sign.

Steven Taylor when he's backing off.

Ah right, yeah he should just play him and see how he gets on but at least he explains why he hasn't. But the explanation makes no sense. It's like a guy standing up in court, and saying, "Yes, your honour, I shot him in the face. But, in my defence, he did look at me funny." "Well, son. It was wrong. But at least you explain why." More to do with the opposition. The two games he's mentioning being Stoke and Wolves would arguably be against the 2 most physical sides in the league. He's taken that into account and made/will make his decisions with that fact in mind. But he's proved he's capable against Stoke. And unsettling the backline never works. Perhaps you're just playing Devil's Advocate, but it seems a clear choice to me.

I guess the entire debate re: Ferguson annoys me. The whole "He's really good, but he hasn't started a PL game before so I don't think he should start." The argument against him starting seems purely based on the fact he hadn't ever started a PL game before. Well, once that applied to Carroll, Owen, Torres and Cantona. You have to start them at some point. You see Wilshere and Ramsey clocking up league appearances before 20, why are we so afraid of blooding youngsters when they do appear to have quality and only doing it instead when everyone else dies? Also, when the other option is putting fucking Steven "I'll back off for fifty yards but stare really hard at the ball so I look heroic" Taylor at RB and shifting Simpson out of position at LB, I can't see why there's even a debate? One kid verus messing up the shape of the entire backline AGAIN.
