On the BBC gossip Janmaat is being linked to Liverpool in the daily star as a replacement for Glen Johnson, would be a decent signing for them but sounds like complete guess work.

 

I wouldn't say that Janmaat has been that good tbh. He's had his moments going forward, but has looked a bit vulnerable defensively, and I wouldn't say he's top four material.

He's playing in a side that creates next to nothing every game, there was only a couple of decent balls into the box all game and on another day he could of scored. Every time Williamson gets the ball he lofts one into him, he's not a exactly a target man. Sissoko was fine when allowed to go forward. Carver's ludicrous tactics meant most players were invisible for large periods.

 

Sissoko was at CB for half the time ffs. It really is so fucking obvious that we don't actually do any movement/training with the ball, and we simply focus on fitness and countering the opposition. It's shocking for a standard as high as the top tier of English football.

Thought we could have been beat yesterday but in the second half we played some decent stuff, especially on the counter.

Too many repeat performances from our management IMO. That said Villa were God awful and we showed at least some decent stuff.

 

I really don't think they do much training, at least based on the evidence we see. They probably run around a bit, do some gym work, and spend the entire week "preparing for the oppisition" - how to nullify, danger men, shape etc.

I look at a player like Ayoze and think that intelligence doesn't necessarily come with age or experience. His vision of the pitch and natural understanding for the game is something Lukaku lacks completely. Lukaku needs to be "developed" into the world class striker he can clearly become. The lad has immense talent and physical presence. Maybe his manager forgets that he's still so young and relies too much on him as a senior player.

The fuckface won the lottery standing at 6 foot plus. How the fuck he can be considered "an athlete" is beyond me. He is so fucking shit at EVERYTHING it isn't even funny. I mean.....the number of awful decisions to get to that specific moment...by himself AND the team, is staggering.

Best thing about this game was the "Are you pardew in disguise" chants from the away end.

It's been atrocious watching us since Carver took over, somehow worse than under Pardew. The players either don't give a f*** or seem lost, confused.

 

Our attacking play has to be the worst in the league, there is no cohesion, no plan, no connection between players.

 

And what of our non-existent midfield? Can't remember a single time we took the game by the scruff of the neck.

 

What is a midfield of Sissoko, Colback, Ayoze and Gouffran going to do? Fuck all. Abeid is MADE to play dead central midfield and he's on the bench because we can't be upsetting our ex-mackem hero.
