  1. The length of sentence isn't a problem, it's this daft law where everyone is eligible for release at half time. Makes a a bit of a farce of the whole idea of sentencing tbh.

This. If Evans isn't fit to work and return to society yet, then he should never have been released in the first place.

  2. This work ethic stuff is hilarious to me

He's a forward, you are not supposed to have him track back constantly in his own half because it's ineffective.

Look at all the best teams, hell even just good teams they don't make their forwards (centre or wide) track back into his own half the way Pardew made him.

They make them press from the front, but once it gets past their zone it becomes the midfields problem and so on. Most teams defend like that now.

Not like Ben Arfa never did that, I don't want Ben Arfa defending deep inside his own half anyway he's s*** at it. He should be nowhere near his own box, he's a danger to the team like most forwards are.

Usually, when you are playing as a winger, it´s your job to follow the fullback if he advances. If you are not doing that, it usually mean 2 v 1 situation on your flank.

Ironically, when he was at his absolute best for us, apart from producing the breath-taking moments in attack, he was also working very hard to track back and help defend danger from the opposition on his side of the pitch. He was also extremely intelligent in getting the release ball out and darting forward to receive it on the counter, which is an even better form of defence (transition that Mourinho is obsessed with).

When his overall performance dropped because of being dropped/mishandled/coming on at 4-0 down with 5 mins to go etc....his work ethic also dropped. Ben Arfa may not be a model professional, but he is a genius artist who was very badly and miserably mismanaged by Pardew. Criminally so.

  3. What good coach doesn't spot that playing Gouffran on the wing simply never ever worked in the year or so he has played there? What good coach doesn't spot that Tiote gives the ball away 5 times out of 10? He's rubbish at everything apart from maybe pretending to care and pretending to talk a good game.

The word "fraud" is used a lot to describe Pardew on here, and it is not exaggerated one bit. He is very much a fraud of a football manager. As much of a fraud stealing a living as those ignorant pundits and journos talking shit at every turn.

  4. I think Sissoko will stay until the end of the season, and then move if a club like Arsenal or PSG are in for him.

But like Cabaye, I don't think he'll make the grade in that kind of team.

Can't we swap Tiote or Anita?

Arsenal and PSG are completely different teams that play in different leagues. Sissoko would be daft to go to Paris, but at Arsenal he would play every minute IMO. (and I for one, would be very honored to see him don the famous red and white of the respectable Arsenal FC of London, UK).

  5. My thought all along has been that it will be Charver.

The only thing that plants a seed of doubt in my mind is that I think, one of the things he's probably liked about Pardew, is his ability to front the whole club. Clearly he'll never do it, Charnley looks completely incapable, Carr obviously wouldn't want to so it's going to fall to the 'Manager/Head Coach' supported by their media muppets.

Charver is not a front man. He's a f***ing liability when it comes to that.

    Sherwood/Sanchez on the other hand................

Bullshit merchants the pair of them.

  6. What we desperately need is for the new man to be a leader. We don't seem to have an obvious leader in the dressing room on the playing staff, so it is vital that the bloke in charge is someone who can lead from the front. Otherwise it would all be a mixed bag of clashing personalities, doing just enough to keep us in the division.

  7. Said this before but sherwood could probably get Ash to spend. That's just my opinion.

Got any specific rationale behind it?

Mainly that he's not a yes man particularly, id likely to be conman enough to get on ashley's good side,  isn't Ash a spurs fan?

Chelsea fan isn't he? I really hope Sherwood doesn't come anywhere near us. He's a nothing personality and has the same demeanour as al pards that I just could never trust.

  8. I maybe delusional with hope but surely if they were going to give it to Carver they would have done so already?

Could very well be undergoing a media trial period. It is essential in Ashley's business model that the first team manager knows how to convey to the public that we appear to be trying, but always falling just short of any of our goals. If Carver is seen to be able to handle the media and PR side of things, he'll be given it IMO.

  9. Carver wants the job because he thinks he can do it. By do it meaning that he thinks he'll just carry on business as usual, where al pards left off, thinking he'll achieve the necessary results to keep us in the PL without changing a thing. He's spoken a lot about al pards knowing how to delegate responsibility. Tie that in with the knacker being in London most of the time, I reckon Carver did most of the work anyway.

  10. He was sacked from Olympiakos after 10 wins and a draw in 11 games.

Was only because of his affiliation to AEK Athens that the fans never took to him.

It was 6 official games actually - if you want that as a standard of manager fine again no ambition - need a proven manager with a record of improving things and sorry he is not that.

You mean the guy who took a backwater s*** Cypriotic club to the CL where even this guy had issues beating them?

    :anguish:

  11. Despite his failed loans, surely Campbell was a better option for a goal than using Williamson as a makeshift striker.

    Wait. I didn't watch/listen. This didn't happen, right?

According to Ryder (I think) on Twitter, unfortunately, yes...

 I mean what can you even do at this point.

 If someone did that on FIFA you'd pause the game and explain what the letters under the pictures mean.
