  1. Yeah - very strange. Was a cracker. It was very well hit but the keeper has to do much better. Totally disagree with this - in general, a strike from 30 yards does pose questions about a keeper's competence but if you saw the shot from behind Cabaye, as on the TV replay, you can see that the bend of the ball and the placement of it gave Mignolet NO chance of stopping it - he dived in good time, but it was just too far to his right for him to reach. One of the best long-range goals I've seen, in the class of Arie Haan of Holland who hit 2 amazing strikes in the 78 WC in Argentina. Replay from behind the goal shows Cabaye glancing up to look at the exact spot he's put it in as well just before pulling the trigger. Got texts from a couple of scousers saying it was a fluke. Told them to get fucked. It really was a sensational strike.
  2. I can't get over that first goal and the sending off incident. Pissing me off no end. We had pressed the ball in midfield so well up to that point, and had been defending well from deep. The one time when Cabaye doesn't put Sturridge under any pressure, and the first time we hold a high line, we end up conceding a penalty and a red card. Circumstances seemed to conspire against us in that phase of play with Tiote running back into play, and ratty boy's obvious dive. MYM had been excellent up until then, but the hand on the shoulder was stupid and asking for trouble. With it being towards the close of the half, it really woke Liverpool up and sent them in to the dressing rooms with a different mindset. Had we closed out the half in front, and with 11 players on the pitch, I'm confident we would have taken all 3 points.
  3. Yeah - very strange. Was a cracker. It was very well hit but the keeper has to do much better. It really moved like a fecker tbf to Josef Mengele, like a balloon in hurricane. This. The replay from behind Cabaye clearly shows the ball starts off moving towards then swerving away from the keeper. He'd obviously misjudged the flight of the ball and his reaction was too late, but that says more about the technique in the shot than the keeper's judgement. On that note, I love seeing our players attempt to hit outrageous shots as Cabaye did today. Granted he's mishit the other two he tried, but it shows that he's full of confidence and self-belief.
  4. Zabaleta doesnt start. What the fuck is going on?
  5. I don't think they were celebrating as much as they were enjoying the relief. Could have gone really badly for us with 10 men. Liverpool were there for the taking. They were utter shite in the first half and we gave them a reason to wake up with the penalty and sending off. Fair result in the end I suppose. Tiote (apart from playing Suarez onside) was brilliant, as were Cabaye, Debuchy and Dummett (bless his heart). Krul commanded his area much much better in the second half as well. I thought Moses and Gerard were their best two players. Suarez still diving and cheating. By far the ugliest cunt I have ever seen. Will be a happy day when he finally leaves this league.
  6. This is f***ing pathetic! Cameron, Ramsey and Lambert all left out of their respective sides. My subs are Vertonghen, Enrique and Marveaux. Edit: Shelvey hasn't started either fml
  7. Game is over imo. We will roll over for them now. Big shame as we had bossed the first half with the best football I have seen us play under Pardew at home. We've given them a reason to wake up. Suicide.
  8. Played against Chris Marsden in a sunday league friendly match. After his retirement from professional football, he moved to Cyprus and was part of an amateur side. Even though he must have been near 40, he was still great to watch up close. Also had a 5 a side kickabout with Craig Hignett during his stint in Cyprus with Apollon. He was shit
  9. cap well and truly doffed
  10. 24 points. Sod this. Soldado getting peddled.
  11. 18 points with captain Soldado, Vertonghen, Ramsey and Lambert to play. Need Bob Soldado to finally bust out a hattrick to save what will otherwise be a pitiful miserly week. Took a 4 point hit as well removing the injured Brady and the ever-benched Welbeck to bring in Lukaku and Ramsey. Good news is I still have over 6m in the bank. Will wait a couple more weeks before removing Hart and A.N. Other and splashing out on Suarez or Benteke.
  12. What the fuck does that even mean?
  13. Exactly the TYPE of appointment we should take a punt on. I don't claim to know anything about him as a manager. Having said that, plying your trade in Japan, with their culture and discipline, mixed with his Balkan flair and temperament sounds to me like a good platform to build a managerial career from. We'd have absolutely nothing to lose, and everything to gain. We can't get worse than what Pardew has bestowed upon us in the last 2 years.
  14. Bit the bullet and went mainstream. Got Lukaku in for Welbeck and Ramsey in for Brady.
  15. Where's this lad then? Despite his age he looks a proper player in the making.
  16. The top and bottom of it. Top post.
  17. Pardew is a yeast infected moulding c*** who should be hounded out of the club. The players look like they've been on holiday all week, and just come here to wing it. f*** off you smug useless gobshite.
  18. 38 pts. Lambert ©, Brady, Soldado the only ones with decent points. Still have Cameron, Coleman, Barkley and HBA (subbed in for Welbeck) to play.
  19. shearer and ferdinand, while not primarily poachers were both very good at it. david kelly maybe ? Andy Cole? Actually talking bollocks here. Cole fashioned out chance after chance with one of the best "turning" techniques of his time.
  20. livescore says Shelvey got the assist for Swansea. FF doesn't agree. Anyone seen the goal?
