  1. Talksport this morning:

John Barnes - Liverpool will be in the champions league next year.

Clive Tyldesley - Liverpool would be a step up for Alan Pardew.

It's no wonder Liverpool fans are entrenched in this fictitious belief that they 'belong' amongst the best, when these aged media crocks are peddling out the same bullshit. f***ing cringeworthy.

The worst bit was when they were saying there should be an impartial body that could advise clubs on how to appoint a decent manager.  Presumably this body would serve Liverpool and every other club.  Not every club can get everything they want you know, unless you extend the Premier League to 40 teams, scrap relegation and give out 10 Champions League places every season.  Poor Liverpool, they don't know who to appoint as their own manager and they might get it wrong and fail to get in the Champions League again.

    Is this real life??  :mike:

Never cease to totes amazeballs me these scouse apologists

  2. I'm really happy it's all gone tits up.

After those first few months and everything was going well for them I thought it was f***ing typical that they'd once again fallen on their feet despite bringing back a miserable, hateful b****** from a bygone era.

I remember when they beat us heavily up at SJP (when Given conceded 5 and was still MOTM), the Liverpool fans (mates) I was watching with laughed in my face and wouldn't stop going on about what a laughing stock NUFC was. They haven't even hit rock bottom yet, and I cannot f***ing wait. Vengeance waits patiently in the shadows, until the right time...

  3. Just seen the news.

It's an absolute shame that Dalglish has gone. Like most people, I would have preferred him to stay on and destroy Liverpool a bit more but alas wasn't to be. John Henry actually has a brain though...

Doesn't take much of a brain to see that Dalglish is nothing but a 70's style uberturboshit disco ball.

The fact that John Henry gave him the job full time would indicate to me that he doesn't have much of a brain tbh.

  4. THEY can't believe THEIR club has sacked a manager after one season. Not THEIR way.

No of course it's not you fucking deluded retards, YOUR club sacks them after half a season.

Absolutely loving this shower of shite crying into their lager and shitting it

  5. What a boring ass squad. Pandering to the media once again. Complete and utter rubbish. Hope England get absolutely smashed. I'd like to see what Hodgson can do once this generation of shithouses is too old to compete in the next major tournament.

  6. From some mong on MAWNG

When the King holds the premier league aloft in 3 years time some of us will look back on this thread and laugh. Some of us will have to hold our heads in shame. Remember that.

I wish they would enable registration. I really wish they would.

  7. The player's parent club always benefit in a small way just because the player can play against every other club but theirs. (Edit: as Bluestar's said)

This definitely needs looked at.  Adebayor on daft money at Man City, can't get near their side, goes to Spurs who only pay about half of his wages and he's an integral part of their push for a Champions League place, the whole thing's warped.  Bit galling as well actually since Spurs were a big rival of ours and probably couldn't have afforded a player of Adebayor's quality without Man City stockpiling top players.  Would they have dropped a handful more points without Adebayor to allow us to sneak into the Champions League?

  8. As it happened it mattered not. But, for example, Piennars goal against us could have had huge financial ramifications if Everton had cost us the opportunity to go above Spurs.

Can't see how it is fair that players can go out on loan and effect the outcome of games that their 'home' club can directly benefit from. It might also stop the richer Clubs stockpiling players then dumping them on loan when they become surplus.

Also, say it was the reverse. Say for example that a defeat for Everton, would have meant Pienaar's parent club qualified for CL football. If he were to be involved in conceding a goal, it would leave question marks over the player's integrity etc... Would Everton have benched him in that case to begin with?

It could get messy in theory.

  9. It's been a smashing season but do not labor under the delusion anyone is untouchable with this lot.  Or that there's no way they would take the team two steps back by asset stripping and trousering the cash, especially given their tendency towards self inflicted gunshot wounds to the feet when it comes to all things football.

That thread from a few days back about keeping 4 players might seem like wishful thinking by the end of it all.

    i know it's a bit late but...

  10. Choose 3 "realistic" signings and put them into your starting 11 and bench.

In: Eric Pieters, Luuk De Jong and Diame.

Out: Ba, Simpson, Guthrie, Obertan, Gosling and Lovenkrands.

    ---Krul---

    Santon---S.Taylor---Coloccini---Pieters

    Cabaye---Tiote---Jonas

    Ben Arfa---------------------------Marveaux

    ---Cisse---

Subs: Elliott, Perch, Williamson, R.Taylor, Diame, *Vuckic and De Jong.

  11. Player of the Season : Tim Krul

Most Disappointing  Player : Cheik Tiote

Best Game Attended : Chelsea Away

    Best Result : Chelsea Away

Goal Of The Season: Cisse at Chelsea

    Best Signing: Papiss Cisse

    Best Prospect: Davide Santon

Best Solo Performance: Tim Krul Man Utd Away

  12. I'll be surprised if we buy anyone this summer from the Premier League.

Get him, a midfielder, a RB/LB and CB and sell no big stars and i'll be delighted and quite frankly dont think we need anymore than that.

We also need a striker who can cover for Ba and Cisse while they're away. If we're letting Ranger, Lovenkrands and Best go, we must be bringing one, maybe two strikers. One for the development squad, and another to have a go while our Geordie boys from Senegal are doing their thing in Africa.

  13. Probably not going to be a popular thing to say on here. But I wont be too fussed if we sell Ba on in the summer. His price is at the largest its going to ever be.. I just feel that even when he was scoring goals, his all round play is not good enough. His passing has been sloppy all season, he constantly trys to turn instead of playing the earlier easy pass, he struggles to physically dominate most centre halfs... If we get an offer of say 12 million pounds .. I wouldnt hesitate to sell him and replace him with a pacier/ wide player.

I can't agree with this in terms of Demba's quality early in the season- he was top class.

However, today was a classic example of where we should have played 4-3-3 but didn't with the most likely reason being that they didn't trust Demba to track Zabaleta. The first goal comes from them outnumbering us in the middle.

If Demba was to go with us signing two pacy 4-3-3 style widemen, it wouldn't be the end of my world and it would lessen the impact of the ACON next year as well.

A straight swap for Gameiro wouldn't be too bad either!

I agree .. I remember against Man Utd at home where his performance was completely dominant .. but since then hes the one player that frustrates the hell out of me.. as he has an inability to retain posession... without scoring goals he is not an asset to the side at all.

    Give over.

What do you feel he offers then?

Well for starters, he keeps a defender or two busy with his movement, and has created a lot of space for Cisse and Ben Arfa. His only weakness at the moment is the goal thing. He seems too eager to score so is not making the best choices some times. Nothing that can't or won't be corrected.

  14. just had this lass off me course trying to get me to go to Leek to film people protesting about road changes

    :yao:

Yup. Been getting texts all day from mates saying to go to some new beach bar opening.

    Riiiiiiiiiight

Just tell them your getting ready to go to Barcelona, Milan, Munich etc.

I said I'd never miss it and that I'd be there at half 3 (kickoff time in Cyprus )

  15. we coulda won this.... silver lining, Carroll's performance. If he continues in this vein, will be a revelation come next season

    Revelation?

35 million pound revelation? what a bunch of tossers they are (for the most part). Rather enjoying reading through their post match thread. "Kenny" only partly to blame
