First impressions on this lad?

It was a tiny cameo, but he looked quite sharp and seemed to like to move the ball about. Put in a couple of tackles, and generally looked to have more physical presence about him than I anticipated. Took a couple of decent set pieces as well. Think he may feature a bit more this season than the likes of Abeid and Vuckic did last season.

I think Fat Mike will show up for this, lose millions in the casinos and then cancel the Debuchy deal - who was watching the game in the stands.

To be fair to Mike, he's slimmed down quite a bit. Can't possibly trouser as much now that he's dropped down a couple of sizes

Chemnitz were a right bunch of pussies for a team that plays in the lower divisions. Actually keeper is a big concern. An injury or suspension for Krul and our cover looks very weak.

 

Exactly my point. A couple of Charlton fans I know really rated Elliott but it'd be a big ask of him to fill in for Krul for any length of time. High pressure, that he's never had.

 

Harper would still be my choice, but would you want to go through half a season with him?

It's concerning how much weight he may have put on whilst out. He does have a tendency to pork up.

I would have agreed in the past, however I reckon AP and JC would be on top of that. JC especially will know him well, and will have made sure he kept relatively in shape throughout his down time.
