wtf is GolTv playing at??

He can f*** right off.
Yup. He's Liverpool scum as far as I'm concerned now.
-
If we genuinely offered anything in excess of £15m, I really can't see Liverpool saying no.
This is just that ridiculous club puffing its pigeon chest out again.
-
“Any big player or good player that comes to the table, we need to be involved in it,” Pardew told the Gazette.
“We need to know what is going on. What is the price? Can we do it? Can we afford? If we can’t we go somewhere else.
“We want the best quality players, and at the moment we have three possible transfers actively being pursued in terms of bids and trying to get a deal where the other club gets what they want and we get what we want.”
Debuchy, Douglas and Anita?
I still think we'll make 2 out of the blue acquisitions plus Debuchy. Really is unlike us nowadays to conduct our transfer activity in public.

so this Brendan git is a knacker it seems. excellent
-
It is pretty obvious that we are his preferred destination. His former captain and good friend has poached him for us, and there will be no stopping this transfer now except in the event of the two clubs massively failing to agree on a transfer fee.
Sadly, I fear this may not go through until August 31st.

Mark 'the textual masseur' Douglas has just soothed out the folds in my brow on this one.
He's coming!

Funnily enough, buying Carroll right now actually fits perfectly into our transfer policy.
This is a player who's valuation is probably at its lowest ebb.
Never mind improving, even if he can only get back to being as good as he was when he was playing for us, he'll never be sold for anything less than 10m for the rest of his career.
And what better place to get things back on track than his hometown club?
In this respect, signing Carroll now really isn't that different from signing someone like Ben Arfa or Santon when we did.
Although he doesn't necessarily fit into the current team, between European games and Cup games, he'll get plenty of time on the pitch this season. And who knows what happens moving forward. In a year or two, we may have sold off Cisse or Ba for another ridiculous fee. Alternatively, we might just sell Carroll for 35m again.
Assuming that he's willing to take a wage cut and accept that he'll have to fight his way into the starting XI, I don't see why not.
Fuck off with that talking sense shit, dude.

I have zero trust in anyone whose first or last name is Gerard tbh.
-
Great to have you back son
-
'it doesn't surprise me to see his name linked with clubs like Manchester and Tottenham, but my advice to him would be for him to stay where he is one more year' - Houllier
f*** off Houllier.
Where the hell did this clown pipe up from this time?

I seem to remember direct quotes from Pardew at some point during last season praising Carroll, and saying something along the lines of not being averse to keeping the door open for his possible return someday. May have just imagined it though.
-
Is anyone actually insinuating that we are targeting Carroll because the owner wants him, and is going over the manager's head?
Why is that so hilarious? We already to know that signings aren't made by Pardew alone, but more of a team between Carr, Pards and Derek.
Exactly! Therefore I find it "hilarious" that people are now jumping to a conclusion whereby Pardew is being undermined.

Pardew.
We don't know everything he said. His quotes in context are basically saying that he's comfortable having him back, but it needs to be a deal we can afford (fee & wages), and all he can do as manager is sit and wait to see what transpires. Don't really see any conspiracy anywhere.
-
We seem to have a bit of a nasty habit of players going on strike to force moves through. Ben Arfa, Maiga, & now Debuchy.
Probably us telling them to go on strike to get the price down.
I reckon Mike & Decka would try any underhand tactic to drive the price down. Mind you, so long as we get the signing over the line am I really bothered?
Just don't complain if/when any of them do it to us.
Already has been done to us as recently as Enrique to Liverpool
-
This isn't a dig at anyone, but it baffles me how anyone can draw these kind of wide ranging conclusions from 1 (or 2) halfhearted game/s.
Maybe it's just me
Which wide ranging conclusions are these?
Read the forum?
Yes. Do you?

Doesn't sound like he's jumping with joy at the prospect of Andy rejoining..
to keep the price down! it's basic business dude
-
Rodgers dropped a bollock when he made it public that he would be willing to let Carroll go, even before giving him a chance. This will cost LFC dear. Love it.
-
I don't understand the whole furore surrounding the SD badges. Couldn't give a toss about this trivial shit tbh. As long as NUFC put out a decent side during any given season, that can compete and excite the crowd, I'm happy as a button regardless of what sponsor or style b&w shirt the players wear.
-
Swap for Coloccini.
f***ing hell, why would anyone even type that as a possibility.
The fact that he can't even spell the club captain's surname should answer your question.
-
I would trust Pardew's judgement if he wanted him. He has at least earned that much.
Mixed feelings about this should it come true.
-
Worst freekick ever.
The first one he took soon after coming on was quite good tbh. Was cleared for a corner iirc.
