  1. I'd have liked to have seen him up against Santon and him being kept out of the game, that'd have helped shut him up a while. SWP will no doubt start on the right. 2 players making their debut there. hope ours comes out on top.
  2. Nothing, frankly. Still important that someone does it, even if its Joey Barton. For every forumboarder who knows everything there is 15 grandma`s out there who might be interested in what Joey has to say. Why does everything have to have an impact for it to be a valid thing to say. No it wont change anything, but its a valid and accurate concern and hopefully it will wind Dekka and Ashley up. Good enough for me. Why is it important that it's said? It's not and he doesn't give two f***s about the "Geordie Nation", he is just bitter he didn't get what he wanted.
  3. Naming players the way he's done goes a step too far, regardless of "how oh so right" he is. Guess some on here have never worked in a professional environment, and don't have a clue what outside interference can do to morale. My one and only concern is that these players who are still with us remain focused on the football, and not get fidgety because some c*** who's been chucked out on his arse is s*** stirring, and creating waves in the media. yeah, ive never worked in a profesional environment. his tweets wont unsettle a team if they've got anything about them, removing the best players will. Absolute rubbish. The tweets get picked up by the media, and continue to keep the club in the news for the wrong reasons!! If you don't think media can put pressure on a football club, then you can't have been around English football for that long! edit: Plus, are his tweets going to stop the best players getting sold? (I agree with you that selling your best unsettles other players, that's obvious)

  5. He is right tho. So what? Does he deserve a biscuit? Trawl the threads for the players he's mentioned, and you'll see how many times people have posted suspecting they would be sold this window or that. We already know this! There's no need for him to stir s***, when it will have absolutely no impact on the situation whatsoever. there is a need in his opinion though, he's been sacked off by the owners after having a very good season and doing his job. makes sense as to why he's gonna highlight that the owners aren't doing their bit in a football sense and will happily dismantle a team for financial reasons that get less pressing as time goes on. oh wow how clever! I suppose i should send him a thank you card for opening my eyes, as i had no idea our club was being run this way!

  8. Some great tweets by that cunt! Can't imagine his former teammates being too happy with that. He's shit stirring for the sake of it, and no fucker can tell me it's good on him because he points the finger at Ashley and Dekka. Warnock and QPR should shut him the fuck up! Plus if I were a QPR fan, I wouldn't be happy with a player who showed in public just how bitter he was to leave his old club, having signed for a new one. Twat of the highest order.
  9. Looks like we agree on something Obviously can't replace Carroll with just ANYONE per se. Can't say I'd have been happy with Clinton Morrison as his replacement, but yeah, as you say, it wouldn't have taken much for them to get the fans off their back. Fans will be eternally optimistic about their club's fortunes, it's the reason we support football clubs that don't win everything year in year out. But then again, it's also the reason they take us for mugs. Just the way it works I suppose.
  10. It is not. Why do people still discuss this? Mike Ashley bought the club with his own money, then he paid the clubs debts of with his own money, this as a interest free loan which he wants to get back over time. The only way he will get his money back is by selling the club for a very high price or running the club with profit for a number of years. This is technically the best we could have hoped for, barring a ridiculous Man City-esque buyout where debt just doesnt exist...this does mean we may suffer more Carroll-esque problems where we become a selling club but the problem isnt the selling, its the not replacing...the board think we are demanding they spend £35mil, we demand they just replace players going out with quality... but yeah i think there is some knee-jerk to some figures in this thread tbh... Agreed. Selling a star center forward for 35M is all well and good, but at least use your supposedly top class scouting network to take a punt on unearthing gems, and show us that this model COULD work, if the club worked hard enough behind the scenes. Earlier in the summer it really looked like it was working, up until they flopped big time failing to secure the mobile forward we desperately need to make our "new tactics" work.
  11. I don't think that is how a "pay as you play" contract works in Ba's case. His contract contingencies must be related to his knee in particular. If he's not playing because of knee troubles, he doesn't get paid. But if he's benched due to a strategical choice made by Pards, he's paid like the rest of the bunch. Yup. He'll get paid as long as he's fit for selection. In the case of injuries, I'd presume he'd still get paid if he got injured in a clash of heads, or a routine hamstring pull etc..., but not for recurring knee injuries. Must be. Doesn't make any sense otherwise.

What absolute donkey w***. the hyperbole is hilarious. Not enough facepalms in the world...

Come off it man! What exactly does he stand to gain from deliberately lying?? Do you think he lies to appease the fans? And what if he came out and said we weren;t likely to bring a striker, it's not like there would be mass riots of NUFC fans invading the training ground and smashing his head in! I just can't see what he would gain. In fact he'd have been better off playing down speculation, and keeping expectations as low as possible, had he known for a fact that we wouldn't be recruiting a forward!

Nope. Some are just too obsessed with transfer activity or what is said in press conferences.

Yup. Can't wait for Kinnear to come back me
  16. Pretty sure Ba wanted to bring a few bodies in at the eleventh hour before the window slammed shut, but was too busy fasting
  17. Ramadan is finished now anyway, so why are we still going on about this?
  18. Creditors? Banks? That's cleared that up then. 1) Stadium redevelopment 'mortgage' 2) Transfer fees for players already playing for the club (£Xm spread over Y years) 3) The difference between revenue and player wages (plus any other operating costs) 4) An initial player investment when he first took over the club and didn't realise the full extent of the finances (i.e. Smith, Barton, etc.) 5) Barclays overdraft 6) Other short-term loans that Shepherd and co had taken out against the club (underwritten by the training ground, academy, potential MGM casino, etc) So, the £140m Ashley loan: what happens to that when he sells? Gets it back in the form of profit/break-even depending on the price met I presume?
  19. Genuine question to Neil: Many felt that NUFC's relegation helped re-generate the club in some ways. Do you fear relegation? or do you think, should it happen, it may help the club get sold to someone who'll turn it around? On paper, the squad is too good to go down, but how much longer can you go on plodding along, stretching your resources to the limit? Wont ever happen, way too solid. Way more solid than us when i come to think about it, easily in half an echelon over. Us on the other hand.. Aye I know, but sometimes it doesn't matter what players you have. If bad feelings and negativity start to fester at a club, key results can go against you, and before you know it you find yourself in the shit. Just wondering what Neil's thoughts are (and those of the general Everton public).
