  1. Just had a text from a workmate through in Glasgow who shares a flat with one of the Rangers physios...horrible rumour this one so brace yourselves...but we're in for Kris Boyd at £5.5M. Apparently.

    :kasper:

To be fair you are not the first one to say this.

I'm going to ignore the likes of themanupstairs and TT (though I'm surprised at you TT, tbh) - I have no reason to discredit my "source" - this isn't a wind up - not as far as I'm concerned...

...and to be honest, if this was a wind up then the source would know the possible concsequences for his own credibility with friends in future. I can't see him crying wolf on something like this, tbh.

Wasnt TT defending you and taking the piss out of themanupstairs s**** comeback?

no. i think TT caught on that i was bored, and tired of reading the letters ITK put together, cracked a rather humorous joke, and decided to jump on the bandwagon.

for the record, never seen kris boyd play, so i don't really have an opinion on whether or not we should sign him. at this point im just posting total shit to get through the day

  2.

hard enough keeping up with all the other threads, as well as panic, optimism, pessimism, speculation, adulation, WoW, SSN, Setanta, and the general mong-ness of this day....

not much need for more mong-ness in the shape of this pathetic thread. please lock mods. thanks

    No. You're welcome.

just giving free advice. you just wait till the revolution happens, and me, Mike and Bontempi take over this board

Irony. You're the one that cant handle one general thread on all transfers and a 'what else do we need' thread. Thats 2 threads to follow and you're calling me a mong?

naah Chez, don't think you're a mong but rather a decent poster on here. think ur thread is mong though, yes.

  7.

    Yup.

watched the game here (in cyprus) last night, and good old Temuri's getting his team to go out there and play the way he did. Keep an eye out for french central midfielder Laban, and Polish center forward Lukasz Sosin (good friend of mine  :aww:)

what I can't believe though, is that there were some Cypriot wankers cheering on Olympiakos instead of Anorthosis. Hate this greek loyalty politics crap. As far as i'm concerned, we politely stuck 2 fingers up the greeks and told them to fuck off

  8. Put your hands up, when Ashley took over, who expected us to go out and splash silly money on new players, to not give a f*** about extortionate wage demands, to be able to cancel players' contracts just because we don't think they're good enough and so on?

It's bonkers to me, this argument that seems to filter through that just because Ashley has a few quid in the bank, he should be running the club with his own money. The club has to be sustainable with or without Ashley's cash (don't forget, the papers have him leaving every other week), and it has to be a business run well.

    I hate Roman Abramovich.

That man is the head-cunt of all cunts. I hold him responsible (well, sort of) for destroying football as we know it.

  9. Would be a massive blow to lose him. I really think he contributes a lot to the team with his work rate and ability to create stuff. Also, he has got tremendous potential and he'll probably grow at Villa or whereve he goes. If he goes i'll miss him bigtime and I really hope we bring in a respectable replacement.

origami boats and air planes don't count

  10. don't be daft, hardly any clubs have bought players or spent money, and deals take time these days and can't be done in 5 days, plus there's 5 days left which is more than enough time to close a deal...

    right

  11. the way I see it, the transfer request will be the catalyst for a giant transfer merry-go-round that will see

    milner to villa

    barry & riera to liverpool

    penant & hyppia to stoke

    arshavin to spurs

    lennon to everton

    benayoun to west ham

    ashton to newcastle

right....i just completely made that up....but who can blame me! im fuckin bored!!  :colo:

  12. I honestly think that KK / the board are in complete control of this situation. Firmly believe this has been going on for 1 month+.

Milner makes noises about new contract - board says nothing doing, so he makes it clear he wants to leave (without putting a request in)

KK bigs him up in the media, CONSTANTLY, for two - three weeks. 'Last player we want to sell', etc.

Milner's stance stays the same. Management leave it until now to give him an ultimatum i.e. you must hand in a transfer request and waive your loyalty bonus.

KK comments in media, 'time running out, not sure if we'll get anyone in, etc' - just further mutterings to bump up the price.

Even if we can't get a replacement in, evrything is in place to ensure silly money, IMHO.

I would love it if we were that clever.

all things point to that we are that clever.

as been said....lad tries hard....wants to leave....meh...MON can give us 10 mill, and can have him

  13. Looked good last night, but as others have already said it was against very mediocre opposition. Give him another 5-10 games in the Premiership and I'll give you a better opinion.

This is correct. However, this is the right way to blood him and give him confidence. He's still only a young lad, and i'm sure he's heard about the stick our defenders always get. Play him against mediocre attackers, get him to get stuck in, and come out of the match with confidence. That's what it's all about.

If you're going to make any judgement of Bassong based on last night, you could say that he has responded well to Keegan and Hughton, and has gone out there and done the job asked of him.

  14. we don't need Michael Dawson or another centre back.

    We don't need another hero!

    thanks for the input

I agree we don't need another CB,  Fullback's and cm's are required.

    striker, striker, striker

not 3 strikers, just one good one

    and a CM

we can worry about FB's later imo

nailed on. Even a blind man can see it.

    thirded

it's obvioust to all and sundry, and i think in that department, Keegan is looking for someone like Cole as opposed to signings like Shearer or Ferdinand. As in, taking a chance on an unknown rather than spending big and going for a big gun or two. I say this simply because in Owen, Viduka and Martins we already have 3 relatively big names, and adding a fourth right now may not be a viable option wages/transfer fee/availability wise.
