  1. Shameful. His plan was literally to survive the first twenty minutes. Useless c***.

Yup. It was pretty obvious from his pre-match interview that we were going into this game shitting in our shorts. Disgraceful lack of character and leadership. Lovely guy but needs fucked off ASAP. Appoint someone with a personality before heading out to the sunshine and give him time to have a proper look at the squad. Won't happen obviously.

  2. Market pool money (derived from the sale of CL TV rights to a given country) is split between teams depending on their performance. Juventus took the lion's share of Italy's because other teams underperformed. We had to split with Atlético and Real Madrid which got deep into the competition.

    Got it. Cheers

  3. Adidas have released a statement saying his contract with them has been terminated with immediate effect.

Nike with 'Just do it' is far more fitting tbh.

    Better off with UnderA. tbh

  4. I'd rather have had him tbh, think it's pretty short termist to think otherwise unless you don't really rate him. Reckon January was our best chance of getting him and it's gone now.

Maybe. It's all ifs and buts (pun intended), and he might have fired us up the league after getting an injection of motivation to play for a new club etc... we can never really know. He was massively disappointing in that half though, and even though you can't judge a player based one on isolated half of football, it's just my gut feeling that we dodged a bullet in the context of it being January, and us desperately needing goals to stay up. Long term though aye, he's the kind of player we should be aiming to buy outright and not fuck about.

  5. Aye a fat arse is for life, not just for Christmas. Something a lot of people forget about fat arses in my experience.

Obviously not, but I mean he might not have had the explosive impact we needed to help us avoid the drop between now and May. If he had given us that performance on his home debut, I'd say for 20 odd million, most would have been massively underwhelmed. There's no doubting he's a very talented striker, but maybe things worked out in our favor not getting him in January.

  6. Hindsight and all. But choosing Krul over Forster looks an awful choice.

A proper football outfit would have booted Harper out and kept the pair of them. Fair play to Forster for having ambition though. He's maturing into a very good PL GK.

  7. I can't believe how badly they've messed up the transfers, the squad is a mess, they keep spending huge on awful strikers and they're lightweight front to back. They need to offload at least half the squad, assemble a new spine and start from the ground up. Klopp's definitely who I'd want to do that, he has a philosophy that he can build a team around it's whether the transfer committee have the will and whether they even can sell half their squad.

Also can't stop laughing at that Mingolet new contract

Probably Klopp's first YNWAJFT96. moment giving this joker a new contract of that length. He's a very average keeper who in his time at Liverpool has even regressed. It could well be that he's merely securing Mignolet as their sub keeper while he goes out and brings in a top class performer in the summer for the number 1 spot. Can see Forster going there if he carries on in this vein.

  8. Had a sneaking feeling West Ham would have a big game so played Valencia up front and Payet . t***. That Aguero goal f***ed me up too.

Getting the captain right is soooo important. Captain Kane for the lose.

This. 2 weeks in a row now my captain hasn't even completed the 90 minutes let alone get any proper points (Lukaku last GW, Yaya Toure this). Had Firmino as captain all week only to change it about 20 minutes before the cut-off :anguish:

  9. "Writing him off" is a bit harsh but I'm personally not a huge fan of managers who can only get results and improvements when circumstances are entirely in their favour. I prefer a manager who can adapt to what he actually has and get that working until such time as he's able to impose his ideas and being in players to suit it.

    Absolutely agree with this.

Top, top football managers should be able to walk into a team like Liverpool and lift them up - especially this season fgs, Leicester (LEICESTER) are top of the league  It might not be "Klopp's team" but they have a much better squad than Leicester and are absolutely underperforming.

His team selections and tactics have been very questionable so far.

It would take an absolutely terrible manager to crash and burn with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, as that league has very poor competition in it.

The one thing Leicester have over Liverpool is balance. Liverpool's squad is bent out of shape and it has made it much more difficult for Klopp to identify his preferred 11. Leicester have the inferior squad on paper, but their first 11 has been virtually unchanged, and almost every one of their players (bar maybe Mahrez and Schmeichel) is performing a level or two above their station.

  10. The lad can finish though.

Well why doesn't he do it more often then?

No you're right. He clearly can't finish. Every single one of his career goals to date has been a total fluke.

He's getting into the positions which is the most important thing - He just needs to get used to the pace of the league, which will come.  His composure yesterday was 1st class.

Yup. I think he will be a class centre forward. It's not his finishing technique that's the problem but it's usually his anticipation/decision making/body shape. He needs as many 90 minutes as possible and it will come with time. Some of his passing into dangerous areas also showed he's quite an intelligent footballer so those saying he could only ever be a 8-10 a season striker might be right, but if he can weigh in with an additional 8-10 assists from knockdowns and passes, then that'll do me tbh.
