  1. Aye 3 years ago to the day when he completely lost the crowd.

And this thread has turned to sh*t as well.

Hope you click on the Mitrovic thread to make the post of your life and accidentally click in this thread, make your post, then have to go through the hassle of cut/delete/paste, only a few have already read it on here and now it doesn't have the same impact it would've had you done it right the first time.

  2. David Ginola - All touch of the ball - Liverpool 4x3 Newcastle ~ 1995/96 Premier League.

    :smitten:

Tore Jason McAteer a new arsehole that game. Just turned him again and again and again. And again.

    And again.

Was it Neil Cox who he completely burned at the beginning of the season? (Was against Boro). The poor lad is probably still dizzy today

    Edit: DOh

Who was the guy Tino do inside out in his first match v Boro? The nutmeg was one of the funniest things I've ever seen

For the goal it was Steve Vickers. For the dragback/nutmeg it was Chris Morris I think.

    "footballers" :anguish:

  3. There is a lot of talk that their 'transfer committee' (a money ball monster) has left the club with a haphazard squad with ill fitting pieces.

It really is a very badly assembled squad, and dare I say worse than ours in terms of buying for what they need. Their defence is an absolute joke apart from maybe Clyne, their midfield is woefully short on quality, plus Coutinho and Sturridge.

  5. Mackems ready to up their bid to 13m for Ayew apparently according to tomorrows papers

Its one of the weirdest transfer 'sagas' for a while. Surely they're massively barking up the wrong tree

    How come? Talented wantaway striker?

There's no guaranteed goalscorers available for a bargain (apart from Austin, apparently (and maybe Remy?)) so us and the Mackems have just got to throw a dart or two if we're bolstering the striker department. Since we both f***ed it up in the summer in Mitrovic and Borini respectively.

Come on man you'r better than comparing these two!

  6. Wait what? i've played my all-out-attack boost this week, but now Ozil won't be playing it seems. What happens in this case? Does my first sub come on? Do I lose the boost anyway or does it not count?

What happens to my All Out Attack chip if automatic substitutions change my formation?

The chip is still played. If you use your All Out Attack chip to select a 2-5-3 formation and a midfielder or forward doesn't play then the bonus is lost, the chip isn't returned.

Right so Bellerin would still come in at least. Cheers Dave. Incidentally how did you come to learn everything about everything?

  7. My main gripe with Colback is that he gets a free pass because it's perceived that he doesn't do anything wrong because he doesn't misplace passes and is perceived to work hard. To me and a lot of people it seems like he's aware of that and plays upon it by never trying anything that could fail and expose him to the sort of criticism that someone like Sissoko gets or Ben Arfa got, or IMO Shelvey will get. As someone put it a little while ago he 'aliby runs' to give the impression of graft but it's never of any benefit and that energy in appearing to work hard is nowhere to be seen if it means finding space on the edge of the area, using his right foot, playing a decisive pass or taking a shot. Instead he hides behind opposition players, goes with his left, plays the easy pass or looks to pass the responsibility onto others to fail or succeed. To me, that is him actually doing everything wrong rather than nothing wrong and if that is, as I suspect, the attitude that he has, then as a central midfielder especially, it's completely unforgivable and exactly the reason why every team he's started in has been knocking around the bottom of the league. As a footballer he's worthless imo, I wouldn't have him in any team.

    superbly put, as ever.

  8. I rate this kid like.

Just needs to be more clinical with his finishing.

I rate him too, but can't help thinking rating a striker who needs to be "more clinical with his finishing", is a bit like rating a surgeon (great bedside manner, and clearly knows his stuff, advises the rest of the team wonderfully!) who needs to be a bit more accurate with his cutting.

Not really. Football isn't a matter of life and death..

"No, it's much more than that."

Aye, I agree. To be a great striker you need to be scoring goals, that is your main job after all. Think he's doing fantastically well as a target man for now though. We aren't playing to his goalscoring strengths with our narrow play like, but ultimately he should be doing better with the chances he's had.

I set it up for Altamullan to finish off the quote since he loves his retro rhymes
