He's always capable of being a CM with the right CM partner / holder next to him. But it requires him to actually put in a shift on both ends of the pitch - which he's capable of but unwilling to show it
is my biggest beef with Sissoko.
Yup, he switches off, lazy and weak tackles etc. But on the flip side when he's in his beast mode matches, he's out there muscling and standing people up and getting his body in front of his opponent and then he's nearly impossible to beat. This guy has one of the best shoulder barges I've seen in some time (was it Ridgewell?)
Think it might have been against Liverpool where he tracked his man to the RB area and made what was probably his first sliding tackle of the season. He won the ball and knocked it out for a throw. He then turned back to his defence with a look on his face as if to say "was that alright lads?"
Beast Mode Sissoko is a joy to behold. Fanny Mode Sissoko is just a waste of time.

FWIW, I would actually try and get De Jong in the team, but it would be at the expense of either Anita or Colback, with Wini maybe sitting deeper, but that might upset the balance of the team, I dunno.
I don't think Colback adds to any balance of our team. He's a warm body who gets a yellow card.
He's definitely the surplus player in the side, the only questions would be if De Jong replaced him would he put in the defensive work to replace Colback, and if not, can Anita cope with the extra work he would have to put in?
He already does

Right. There was a moment I think before we scored the winner where Kane outmuscled him on the half way line and took the ball up the pitch. Colback stayed with him but couldn't do anything because he was on a yellow. That would have been the moment to get a yellow, not the one he got in the first half.
I remember shouting for him to bring Kane down and take the red for the team.

Could it be that our new GK coach (I wanna say Simon Smith but not sure?) has had a good influence on salad dodge?
-
I reckon there's no way McClaren will drop him (SdJ). He's had a massive influence on the team in general in the two matches he's started, and has certainly improved our shape between the lines with his link play. If Cisse will continue to start for us as the "senior striker" then I'd feel a lot better about de Jong being the one to play behind him.

Lucas Leiva - pathetic ugly past it c***
Dele Alli - just f*** off back to non-league
Callum Mcmanacunt
Fabio Borini - just
Robert Madley - thick mackem c***
Past it
When was he ever anything other than utter s***.
Oh phew! I've always thought he was gash, but the hipster fans thought he was mint so had to include the past it bit to be on the safe side.

I'll never understand why people hate players picking up a yellow card. It's not like he's consistently getting sent off for two yellows.
Is that a serious question? When your central (supposedly combative) midfielder is on a yellow, he has to be on his best behavior so as not to risk a second yellow. Players in that position have to take risks sometimes to stop imminent attacks. I wouldn't mind him picking up yellows, it's just that 99% of the time they're stupidly avoidable yellows where he could have just let the player go as they posed very little threat. Save taking the yellow card for when it's worth it, and not when you foul an opponent in their own fucking half because you can't tackle for shit.

Nobby was the same way most of the time. Far more Laurent Robert than James Milner.
Reckon he was on about Kevin Nolan. Has to be Nolan.
-
Controversial, perhaps, but I wouldn't start him next week. I think we need to try something different for these sorts of games and would go for something more technical that somehow revolves around de Jong, Perez, Wijnaldum & Thauvin.
I'd rather have Sissoko running at a beleaguered Villa defence than Thauvin tbh. Especially 2nd half Sissoko or Norwich Sissoko.

Bit of a c*** there mind.
Not watching. What happened?
Not shaking Pulis' hand because of their football and moaning about their style of football in his interview. We know what Pulis and WBA are all about. He should be good enough to wipe the floor with them, not get a lucky draw.
Did he actually refuse a handshake? or just totally avoided Pulis? Either way that is cuntish and smacks of a bad loser. LFC already rubbing off on him.

Why can't he play like he did in the last 20 minutes or so more consistently?
Was garbage before then.
Its f***ing simple man
He's fast and athletic and obviously gets more into it as the game opens up. Don't know how people are still finding this difficult to understand
Does that mean he shouldn't do the basics properly like pass the ball to a teammate or bust a gut to cover or track his man while the game is still cagey?
Did you read my post like? I said he starts to play well when the game opens up, he's a poor technical player in tight areas in terms of passing, touch etc. Can't say that I notice him not tracking his man that often like
He starts the game too pedestrian and lethargic. If he can't play in tight situations, then he can just do the simple stuff. I'm simply saying it's an attitude thing rather than ability. He only seems to turn it on when he starts to believe we can get something out of the game. Same exact thing happened last weekend.

If I was McClaren, I'd be having a word.
He could have killed somebody.
give ayoze van persie wages

Just remembered about Steve Harper's People's elbow
that was a proper
moment.

It's football man! Score a last minute winner and you're going to get mugged and jumped on ffs. I'd rather these fannies got back in touch with the pure basics of football than act like spoiled self-entitled prima donnas.

Looked good these last two games for me. Calming influence and showing his experience.
Which is vital when Cisse is up front, it seems.
-
What a classy little player, just so calm and good with the ball, and puts an effort without it.
That turn when he first came on and touched the ball! You can see the 4 Spurs defenders completely taken aback by it. One drop of the shoulder and he's pulling defenders out of shape. Magic.

How long before this ubercunt is suspended again? iirc it's 2 matches for 10 yellows? Utter pap today apart from one or two clearances.
That short corner attempt towards the end of the game summed him up. Opportunity to whip a good ball into the box...plays it short, gets it back and doesn't beat the first man.
It's ridiculous how terrible he is.
I lost it at the tv when he did that. Even Townsend rightly blasted his stupidity in the commentary.

Away support was absolutely top class today

It only takes a moment to change your mind profoundly forever about some things in life. It could take a few words from SMC, Steve Black, maybe Deschamps, maybe a teammate, and he would become a much better player for it. I'm hoping he's still here when it does eventually click because we'd have a much improved Sissoko on our books (for a short while at least).
