Thinking about it, there's literally no positives to take from todays game.
-
So who exactly should we now expect to beat at home? Because quite frankly we've got a hell of a lot of work to do to make this a tough place to come to.

A lack of a strike partner for Carroll (or Ameobi) is starting to shine through. I would have been tempted to start either Ameobi or Loven up top with Carroll instead of Nolan. We knew beforehand that we were capable of handling their midfield and the aerial dominance the have at the back, so why not stick Shola up there as well? Plus, he's in good scoring form. Or even Lovenkrands, who adds a bit of pace and movement to our game. If he was playing on the shoulder of Shawcross or Huth then it would have given us more room up the pitch. I'm fucking raging we've actually lost this. Sickening stuff.

The only time we looked a threat in the 1st half was when Ben Arfa moved in more centrally. He's a waste out wide, imo. Drop Nolan, put Jonas on the left and Hatem off Carroll. He's much more menacing running through the centre....as he proved against Everton. You would have thought that after our complacency against Blackpool we'd have more drive about us to win this. Obviously not.

Routledge offered us absolutely nothing. And what really tops this shit off is that West Brom won yesterday, mackems got a good draw- as did Wigan- and West Ham won. And its Monday morning tomorrow. Fucking brilliant.

That's what I was thinking. I was wondering could he have even tried to claim the cross that Perch headed in. In fairness to Tim though he was hardly tested all game.

Jesus fucking christ. This is the most frustrating club on the fucking planet. What kills me is that we only started to think about getting our arse into gear once we actually went behind!!! Not once Stoke draw level, but once we go behind....with 5mins to go. Give me strength. Man City away next...

We can win this. But then aaagaaainn...

This is such a proud moment!!! Yeeesssssssssssssssssss I'm in shock!! I fucking love this club!

Extra money or no extra money, those signs disgust me- as would any advertisement board spunked up the outside of St. James' Park. It's terrible to think that people are actually OK with seeing us plaster over our identity, tradition and proud football club with these hideously cheap advertisements for a crappy sports store. As if the "Sportsdirect.com" that has replaced the Newcastle United crest on the Gallowgate End isn't bad enough....

I thought we'd be doing well with LDDWL

Great to hear that, mate. I'm sure our travelling lot did us proud (as usual). Howay the lads!

when has that been said about any of our cms Barton was magnificent for us today. He drove us forward really well today.
-
I'm really liking Wor Mike.
-
He's so much better than Smith, it's just ridiculous. He's athletic, strong, two good feet and keeps possession very well. He switched the play nicely and is able to take the sting out of the game when we're on the back foot. Worked well with Joey, as well.

Must say it's grown on me quite a lot. Really like it now.
-
I'm still a big fan of the 'Sos Cagon' one
-
Impressive. He could be very good for us.

The performance against Liverpool was shocking though, we literally looked clueless. Remember Geremi looking puzzled as to whether we were setting up 4-5-1 or 3-5-2. This performance was far better as we had the lion share of the chances. The two don't compare. I see this as one of those irritating results you get on FM, you have more shots and possession and ultimately lose to a crap team. It's immensely frustrating but it simply happens from time to time. Yep. A combination of things- us not helping our selves at the best of times- but it was just one of those days where the ball just wont go in. Most frustrating thing in the world, though. Its early doors yet, but we've only made the other games against Wigan, WBA, mackems, West Ham etc much more important.

Fulham 2009 (considering what was at stake)?
