  1. Why's he your player of the tournament? I'm a Messi fanboy but he's definitely not been the most impressive player.
  2. I like Germany. I like the country. I like their people. I like their beer. I like their women. I like their transport system. I fucking love their transport system actually. I like their currywurst. But tonight. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1a/Flag_of_Argentina.svg/800px-Flag_of_Argentina.svg.png
  3. Anyway, regardless of the outcome of that previous bet, time for a new bet. Literally had about 2 bets since Dempsey won me loads about 3 weeks ago. Dunno what's wrong with me.
  4. Which Arsenal and Man City players have scored in the WC? Reason I ask being I had a double of Giroud and Dzeko being top Arsenal and Man City scorers. I know Giroud has 1.... any other Arsenal player? IIRC Dzeko and Fernandinho both have 1.
  5. He's just giving a really detailed description of an extremely mundane game of Fifa.
  6. Can't see them ever challenging with Giroud. In terms of the title, I agree. But I think Giroud gets a disproportionately harsh time from most. He's not a world-class striker and he never has been, yet people seem to expect him to be. He's a good striker who'll get you 15-20 goals a season. I guess if the rest of the team was truly top class then they might get by (think Sanchez is a very good buy) but it's unlikely. Main problem with Giroud IMO is his impact - or lack of - in the big games. Some sort of combination though of Giroud central with Walcott, Sanchez and Ozil wide and behind him has potential to be fucking amazing.
  7. There was a prime opportunity to make that a good Giggsing, but instead, no. He'll be disappointed when he sees that again.
  8. From what I'd read, he wasn't given assurances about his place in the team from Guardiola. Which seems mad. But then you consider the obscene talent he has at his disposal in midfield.
  9. If shite is scoring 24 goals in your last 26 international matches and being key to getting your team to a World Cup final, I'd really like to hear your opinion on great. Prepare for geddon when he claims he didn't mean shite, just not as good as his club form.
  10. Aye. I think although their win vs Spain was extraordinary, it's easy to forget they could have been almost down and out at half time in that game, whereas Brazil looked ripe for a pasting from the start yesterday.
  11. For me, this tournament has seen Khedira etch himself into the very top bracket of central midfielders in the world.
  12. Hang in there, man. You may have a long ride on the banter bus in front of you. Have to say though that despite some idiots the Brazilian fans showed class inside the arena. Stood up an applauded the Germans after the 7th, applauded the team after the game and kept singing. Unlike the british who always embarrass themselves in international tournaments unless they're in a country where they know cowardice will backfire. Ooooohhhhh lol 7-1
  13. Just look at storyline. Look at it. Fucking hell.
  14. Had 16/1 Hummels anytime actually which I thought was incredible value, actually disappointed he didn't score. Every other fucker did. Very good WC overall. Sounds like people took home a pretty penny tonight.
  15. Had Muller 13/5, shame I didn't have other German bets on. Incredible.
  16. After a class group stage and everyone saying it's one of the most open World Cups ever, it's been pretty dry on the goals front. But still some very exciting games. A big theme of this tournament IMO is how close the games have been. From 12 second round and QF matches, 10 have either gone to ET or been won by a single goal. The 'underdogs' are getting stronger and there hasn't been one especially outstanding side throughout the tournament.
  17. Always congratulating yourself, ey? Kanji ffs do something.
