You's had more shots on target yesterday than the mackems have all season. If you get one early, i can see you getting 3 or 4. (and i hope u do) I agree, an early goal in this game is key. Could easily see us get frustrated and it's almost a certainty MON will look to do just that - have 8/9 players behind the ball and get us agitated. It's odd, people are talking about how well we've played this season (and we've played some fucking excellent stuff, hampered by some questionable officiating, not taking our chances and some plain bad luck) and I read the majority of comments on here about how you haven't played well at all this season; but I look at the table and see a massive, er, 3 points difference. Just food for thought I guess. I've never been keen on Heitinga. He had a spell last season where he looked like the real deal at last but I've always preferred Distin and Jagielka. Would be very surprised if he was still here next year.

Good point. We also shoot ourselves in the foot by conceding first on an alarmingly regular basis, that's 5 games in a row now. I'm confident we'll give them a good 1-1 thrashing. Like Sunderland will score Just as laughable as the idea of us keeping a clean sheet currently.

Someone is going to get battered by us soon and it just so happens we have this lot next week. We're created a hatful of chances against a far better team than Sunderland in the form of Fulham, on their own patch, and watching the game back again it's bewildering how on earth we didn't score more than 2. Sunderland look fucking atrocious and it would not surprise me at all if we stick 5 past them. However, we are being hampered by poor finishing and a leaky defence. A draw is just as likely as a thrashing.

Club Brugge vs Newcastle United - 08/11/12 @ 6pm GMT (Live on ESPN)

Just noticed they're about to suffer a harrowing 1-0 home defeat to Zulte Waregem. The amusingly named Donk was sent off. -
Liege/Tel Aviv double.

I think we can all safely say Stevie G is a world class player, then.

And has been for the past 2-3 years.

Fuck knows, that was awful. Simpson should have taken a pathetic dive. It's almost as though there's a link here. Suarez involved in 2 nasty tackles against us last weekend Sterling with a shite tackle today, and also kicking out ..... Coloccini with a challenge and didn't even make contact, red card.

Few thoughts from my (admittedly not exactly neutral perspective): Thought bar the first 10 minutes, Liverpool were fairly shite first half. You looked happy to contain them and of course the massive bonus came with the first real piece of quality from Cabaye and it's job done at half time. You however did what we tend to do, and especially at Anfield; And that's drop deep, give them too much respect and just allow momentum to build up. I thought there was also a very noticeable difference when Cabaye went off. IIRC it was just after they scored and what you needed was someone like him to keep the passing going but it just didn't happen, offering even more impetus to Liverpool. The goal was, begrudgingly, great play from Suarez but what I would be left thinking from that is the godawful pass (Anita?) just before which gave the ball back to them. Wasn't a red, but equally not sure why Coloccini had his boot raised like that. Seemed daft, and not at all in line with 99% of his play. A classic "gave the referee a decision to make" situation. Ben Arfa looked dangerous and I was impressed with Ameobi when he came on. The impression I get is a few would have taken a point before the game but it really did remind me a lot of us. Get in front but instead of trying to build on it, sit back and allow them to come onto you. I really don't like this mentality of assuming because you have more players back it guarantees a better chance of not conceding. Quite often it'll work the other way because you're not necessarily as organised, players aren't sure who to be marking, and things become increasingly frantic and desperate. Moyes has a habit of doing it and I was reminded of us while watching the 2nd half. Also, what a cheat Sterling is. Shame, as he looks a talent but he's been diving just as much as anyone. And for him not to get anything for his tackle and Coloccini to get sent off? Give me a break. Any semblance of refereeing consistency which remained is fast going out the window.

Damn those pesky, feather-like bricks.

I would without hesitation, but then again I know how many times I've been fucked over on bets. Will decide during the first 10 minutes of 2nd half. Really think we can win this and will at least not lose it. Don't think we'll lose, either. Maybe it's just because it's not us playing them (we share a similarly wretched record at Anfield, maybe not quite as terrible but still harrowingly bad), but I agree.

It really is payday for Zach now!

Not watching the half time "analysis" but let me guess - are they desperately trying to look for reasons as to why Liverpool are behind, and generally claiming they were camped in your penalty box for the whole half only for a cruel, cruel fluke to deny them? Frankly, in a way I don't mind the whole perception of Liverpool being some sort of great team to be feared. It helps their fans think they're actually good so it makes it sweeter when they inevitably get let down again, and again, and again. Wankers, the lot of them. Hope Ben Arfa nutmegs Gerrard 5 times before lifting the ball over Jones and cartwheels the entire length of the pitch down to in front of the Kop.

Battered? Sure, they were good the first 10-15 mins but after that they were fairly shite and so was the match. One moment of quality has you in front. That was anything but a battering. Liverpool fans are free to believe that though, it'll help to feed the delusion.

Please beat these odious cretins.

Other way round this time. Needs to guess which envelope his P45 is in.

You'll be pleased to know I haven't actually put the DNB on. Gerrard FGS @ 9/1 however...

Please smash this bunch of odious, self-obsessed wankers. Thanks.

Sorry everyone, you're getting beat. Newcastle DNB.
