Injuries, bad luck, the weather, the grass, uncomfortable playing kit, an invisible swarm of locusts and ludicrously expensive half-time burger and chips.
If he scores, I'll go nuts. Generally though, he's a travesty of a footballer. The last time I defended him, he miskicked it into his own net at West Ham.
Anyway, this Saturday and the 3 Wednesdays following it:

Because they came from 3-0 down in the first half against YB and still got through that tie.
And to score 3 in the San Siro with 10 men, in 15 minutes or whatever it was, is pretty damn impressive.
Nah man, they're blatantly shit. Boo Tottenham Boooo.
Twats. Look at them with their relative success.

Defender didn't get the ball when challenging Pav IIRC so the defender got away with that.
The refusal to give the penalty for the 2 subsequent claims was IMO, fairly or unfairly, more to do with Bale's earlier attempt at cheating.
Bang on the money JH with the Bale comment. The fact he tried to con the ref has somewhat backfired on Spurs, especially the way Modric made the most of it.
I'd be fuming if neither of the Modric/Pav shouts were given for my team but equally, from a neutral POV, I can see why the ref has decided against pointing to the spot.
Tottenham had 2 legitimate penalty claims, albeit not stone-wallers. The problem is, Modric and Pav made the most of them and the ref wasn't having any of it.
Good game so far tbh.
