What's with the Ben Arfa-Rooney crack? a) They're completely different kinds of player b) Ben Arfa has potential but he has quite some way to go before performances even begin to exhibit the same dominance as Rooney.
  2. In fairness I'd probably have O'Shea and Bendtner in our starting eleven.
  3. Jesus, the Blackburn match day thread. Some of them claim Coloccini and Cabaye wouldn't get in their starting eleven, deary me.
  4. Speechless. Read more: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=630749&page=12 Cabaye wouldn't get in their team appearently, Jesus H Christ.
  5. Aye, win this and it becomes a truly sexual start to the season.
  6. Wolves have lost their last three, two of which were at home. There's no reason why we can't go and win this, but as with most away games I'd be content with a point.
  7. Agreed. The pundtry in this country is generally awful. You have wooden goons on match of the day who wheel out the usual tired cliches offering little to no insight, then there's the general smugness of GSS which consists of p*ss poor analysis and biased commentry. With out naming individuals there's the general perception the Premier League is the be all and end all. Rooney is the greatest player in the world, Man United are the greatest team in the world, the Premier League is the most competative league in the world, it's all crap. Then when a foreign players gets off to a rough start you get the 'he's not going to adjust to the pace' speech, similar to the treatment Dzeko received last season. Truth be told the Premier League is complete crap outside the top seven or so teams, not to mention most of the best players within the league come from abroad. Nine times out of ten a quality player will adjust given time, yet our pundits don't consider this because they're too lazy to do the job they are paid millions of pounds to do and look beyond the realms of the self proclaimed best league in the world.
  8. 'What they need is a proven Premier League striker' Who are these so called proven Premier League strikesr. Outside the top side who rarely sell their proven striker who are these forwards? Crouch? Yakubu? Johnson? Zamora? Jerome? Seriously I'd rather gamble on a foreign striker than buy the s**** floating around in the Premier League. Case in point, Odeminwinge. Goes to West Brom after spending most of his career in Russia and bangs in 15 goals. Don't get me wrong some foreign strikers flop, but you've got to ask yourself would you rather take a chance on a striker who has scored at the highest level in a different country or settle for generic trash? Yet still you hear the 'proven Premier Leegue striker' referred to like it is the holy f***ing grail, bollocks.
  9. Knew the lad would come good, the lad has scored goals everywhere he's been. Long may it continue.
  10. where has this myth come from that Arteta is provides quality from set pieces? They are shit.
  11. 'It's number 17, ALDERSHOT! Aldershot at home, and they will play...*shuffle*...*shuffle*...the square ball, Manchester United' Not a bad draw for us, can see it being another extra time job.
  12. What's the man got to do to get a start?
  13. Nah man, Obertan on the whole has been pretty crap. Stick Jonas on the right with Marveaux on the left, they can switch if needs be.
  14. About time we gave this lot a good hiding. A 2-1 thrashing it is.
  15. What happened to your shiny head, mate? Just seen your sig, he also said he'd buy a Liverpool shirt.
  16. I'm with Wearside on this. Technique, passing range, vision, awareness, graft, general influence in the side, they're all extraneous in comparison to goal tally. Gardener has shown far more than Cabaye based on this single stat, just as Nolan dominated the Premier League with his performances last season.
  17. Comfortably my worst week with 40, down to about 15th in the league. How in the blue hell did Cabaye not get a singly bonus point? Truly idiotic system.
  18. Papering over the cracks.
  19. Suarez or Adebayor? Picks Suarez, superb.
  20. Heard a few comments from the British media that Rooney is currently the best in the world, absolute trash. The whole 'Messi needs to prove himself at another club' argument is also absolute bollocks. Best player in the world bar none, enjoy him while he's in the game.
