Off the back of the Schar chat, was just looking at apparent contract expiration on Transfermarkt: End of this season: Ruddy, Gillespie Dubravka, Trippier, Krafth, Lascalles Schar, Burn, Lewis, Longstaff, Fraser, Wilson. 25/26 Pope, Targett, Hayden, Almiron, Gordon 26/27 Botman, Willock, Murphy Fully expect a few new deals to be flying about once the transfer window closes.

Schar isn't a weakness, but he turns 33 this year and his deal expires at the end of the season. I'd fully expect him to sign an extension mind with the amount out of contract at the same time.

He looks very tidy on the ball, but is he a decent defender? The praise seems a bit much after one game.

We were down to ten men for a majority of the game mind, we had no right winger on the pitch.
