Surely Willock should've had one against Villa then, as the contact continued into the box.
I think Willock went into the box but the last contact was made just fractionally outside the box (though I thought it was just touching the line so should have been a pen)

Gerraway man. He's cleaned his legs out a yard outside the area. Just because the two players are still in contact as one is toppling over doesn't mean the "foul is continuing". It's a free kick.
And looks like he has another trip inside the box but like I say they don't show a closer view of it

They didn't quite zoom in but it looks a penalty, the law is if the foul continues into the box then it's a penalty

When was the last time Maxi was this far down the page?
The match against West Ham demonstrated that we are not as reliant upon him as we once assumed. It is no coincidence that our possession stats were so impressive in this match.
He has [more than] twice as many successful dribbles as the next best, but our goals scored accurately reflect our league position. Our performance against West Ham, one would hope, has demonstrated that he no longer needs to take sole responsibility for our success. There is no longer the evidence to support his claim that his team mates are not good enough.
I adore the bloke and hope this will make him even better.
For all that I thought we played well and kept the ball well how many chances did we actually create? Even the goal we scored came from an awful header from Rice
I'm more confident under Howe if Saint-Maximin doesn't play then we won't just collapse but across a number of games I've no doubt we are much better with him than without

Fair fucks.
He seemed keen to join us when we looked like the only team able to do a deal in January. If waiting to the summer throws Milan into the mix I think it gets harder for us to convince him especially with Maldini on a charm offensive. Our only advantage is more money but I'd not want to go down that route as our sole motivator towards players.
Yeah, ultimately the summer transfer window is better for us in that we'll have more time and less pressure (regardless of which league we are in) but also players will have more options as not a lot of clubs want to do business in January
Even if we stay up we don't have CL or any European football to offer so losing out to Milan is to be expected
-
Gazetta reckons he wants to join Milan
Don't blame him, he's guaranteed games there whilst here he would be back up to Big Dan Burn

It's lovely to hear of a young lad doing well. This was a big test for Shola and his loan development work. I honestly think if he's happy and Bristol have a decent plan to stop up after promotion we just send him back.
Yeah, I think it would be good for him to have a full season playing proper football
Far too often we send youngsters out on loan too late or for such small stints it doesn't do a huge amount for their development

Watching MOTD now, Sissoko is so fucking shit man. How did we manage to sell him for so much to Spurs?
He had a decent Euros which definitely helped

Any centre back in the league, even on their off-day would love to play against Chris Wood for Newcastle.
- He's not a goal pig - he's not a threat with movement in/around 6 yard box (Aguero/Van Nistelrooy)
- He's not a threat behind, or a threat with pace (Vardy/Bellamy/Henry)
- He's not a bully (Drogba/Giroud)
On his good day, he's maybe 7/10 at best on any of the above.
This prick is so lazy he's never actually within the width of the goal posts when Fraser has it wide for a cross.
Joselu was shite, an I gave him equal stick, he's scoring goals....
Chris Wood will score goals, he'd score near 20 for Burnley next year in Championship.
I'd be amazed if Chris Wood scores more than 15 goals for Newcastle United.
He's our Roque Santa Cruz.
There's many things to criticise him for, doesn't seem a goal threat, technique isn't the greatest, doesn't be in the right place in the box but calling him lazy is ridiculous
He presses from the front and doesn't stop
He's far from lazy

The whole team has..
That is true, definitely not his fault
His signing wasn't very wise, seemed like an emotional decision rather than logical

Ronaldo is man u's top scorer in all competitions last i looked
It's more to do with league performance
He's been anonymous in a number of games, games in which Man-U have ended up dropping points

Madness how Ronaldo gets so much shit for the way Man u's season is panning out,While Messi gets let off scott free for doing nowt for most of the season
He's racked up a few assists but for his standards he hasn't scored enough
The difference being is that he still very much gets involved in the game trying to do things whilst Ronaldo doesn't. Not blaming Ronaldo as that is how he plays but it looks bad as he doesn't get on the ball much
Plus PSG are comfortably top of the table whilst Man-U are struggling to get top 4

You can’t say they won’t be more confident now than they would have been if they got smashed
I'm saying their confidence level is irrelevant
The way they play works fine to counter against City, I just think it's a very different style of game and they'll struggle to break Burnley down

Good result city losing, one it gives spurs a boost against Burnley and two it means city will want to bounce back against Everton.
Think the boost is irrelevant, Spurs have a decent record against City, they defend well and then are dangerous on the counter, which works against City
Burnley will be the ones sitting deep and that has been a problem for Spurs to breakdown
-
Now watch Spurs be absolute shit against Burnley
-
Kane again, what a game
-
What a penalty
-
Mahrez gonna blast this over
-
Pen given, correct decision, blatant
-
City should be given a pen here if VAR works
