I obviously can't disagree with that. Yesterday was absolutely his fault. But I don't think he deserves to be irreparably reviled for it.
Emotions get the better of people, he's not the first player to have that (see Shelvey after his sending off at Spurs and I remember Hayden at Cardiff) and he won't be the last
Overall I think it's fair to say he's been a decent servant for the club but under a normal club he would have been moved on a couple of years ago

Without trying to be contrary I find the reaction to him here a bit unfair. He cost us dearly yesterday but he's served this club very well and it's only a symptom of Ashley/Bruce that he's still playing for us at all. If there's one thing you can say for sure about the Championship crew it's that their loyalty, commitment and professionalism is beyond question. In the very narrow context of yesterday's game it's an unforgivable error, but if we get relegated it won't be because Ciaran Clark got sent off against Norwich. I don't think he's deserving of the 'not fit to wear the shirt'-type hostility that he's faced since it happened.
It's not his fault he is still here and it's not his fault that he kept on getting picked but yesterday was his fault, the initial clearance/pass was pathetic and then his decision making too so he's rightly going to get criticised for it, even more so when you consider the magnitude of the game

There was one slightly wayward pass but Lewis recovered it by winning the tackle, aside from that he was brilliant.
He's our best defender by far, actually criminal that he was out of the side never mind the squad
-
Could do with some fresh legs
-
Joelinton giving it away cheaply, needs to be better

Lewis will probably make a mistake now but how much better than Ritchie has he looked
It's baffling he hasn't had a look in

Who'd take 0-0 now if offered it?
Me
We've had some half chances on the break but all this running will be taking it out of the players
We are not very fit with eleven players so we'll be gassed very soon
A clean sheet would be immense and just have to try and beat Burnley
-
It's not even a case of hindsight, we've all known for ages that he's shit and a liability
It's just frustrating that it's come in such an important game
-
We've known for ages Clark is shit, Howe is learning that today in a very painful way
-
Daft from ASM, let Gibson try and control it
-
That's never a pen man
-
There is a reason we have been saying Clark needs to be away from the team
-
-
No chance we keep a clean sheet, just got to hope we can outscore them

I think we're getting caught up in trying to frame a desperately dire situation into a slightly more optimistic one by saying the next 2 games are critical, when in actual fact every game upto the window opening is especially critical.
At this point in time it's not unrealistic to say 6 points from the next 6 games is a best case scenario for us.
I think it's because the next 2 are clubs near to us plus 6 points from those 2 should mean even if we get nowt from December, then come January we shouldn't be too far adrift

Can't see Brentford getting dragged too far into the shit given those fixtures. This 3 fixture window coming up for us is huge, Norwich, Burnley, Leicester. We can make ground up on Watford, Burnley and Norwich if we pick up at the very least 7 points. 9 would be superb and doable. It's also worth mentioning that our 3 games in January are Southampton (a), Watford (h) and Leeds (a).
Southampton is very early in the window but we need to try and get signings done before that Watford game, if we leave it too late then we are potentially throwing away winnable fixtures with a few additions

Guy is England's right back for years to come imo
No chance with James around
However he is very good and if there is a chance of us signing him we need to do it

Dubravka
Manquillo Schar Fernandez Lewis
Shelvey Hayden
ASM Almiron Joelinton
Wilson
That's the players I would go with, would swap ASM and Joelinton but it has to be this
But Clark will come in and Fraser will start as well I reckon

I said last week. We have to win our 2 home games coming up. If we don't, we are down imo.
I think 4 points is the minimum needed, get 4 and I think we are still in with a chance
-
Expected us to lose, a point or a win would have been a massive bonus so this doesn't really change where I am at
I'd say 7.5, 6 points from the next two and I'd drop to 6. 4 points takes it to an 8, anything less and it's 9
-
I expected us to lose so not overly concerned even if we were poor
We must get 6 points from the next 2 games, worst case scenario needs to be 4 points
-
We have been poor but my word, the officiating today has been shocking
-
How is that not a free kick?

Ritchie did do well towards the end of last season, he was solid enough and he clearly had an affect on the team by driving them
This season however he's been horrific, ultimately he's not a left back. His legs have well and truly gone, don't think he even offers anything in a more advanced role
Lewis has to play from now onwards, though a LB in January would do nicely
