  1. A natural left back would be great for squad depth, would allow us to rest Santon from time to time

    No doubt about that.

Still, I hope we're not wasting too much time for this and we're actively working on the cb/striker issue.

Absolutely, a striker and CB are a must. If we don't get both then this window is a failure regardless of how many players for other positions we sign

  2. While i'm all in for getting bodies in this doesn't make sense to me. we should really be going for a striker and a CB.

I know our management are a bit dense BUT surely it's possible to pursue a few players at a time

  3. Would be great if league position was scored as the sum total of the clubs success.

Im dreaming I know, but, something like:

    Points for winning games

    Points for support in stadium

Points for starting U21 players in games

Points for English players in games

    Points for financial fair play

    etc

    :scared:

  4. It's going to be annoying reading/listening to the media lick Harry's arse and make it sound like he used his "charm" to get him to sign

They are offering daft money to players and it will come back to bite the club on its arse, though Harry won't give a s*** as he will be long gone by then

  5. I can see why he would go there

Loads more money and no doubt he will have a relegation clause inserted. So in 6 months he could have his pick of clubs again

  6. I just hope the £8.5m isn't spent on Aubyermang or whoever that non-scoring African is.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Probably won't end up getting spent at all before mysteriously disappearing before the next window.

Aye, kinda like the £12mill De Jong money didn't get spent

  7. It could be that even Mike Ashley isn't willing to gamble with the massive TV bonanza for next season. I mean, he has to get some credit for tying up Debuchy and Remy.

Credit for making a couple of signings he should have made 6 months ago? Nah, don't think so

  8. People on twitter saying we have had a £10m bid accepted according to the Daily Mirror, well no links to the Daily Mirror have been provided, and I've checked their twitter account and their website and there is no sign of it.

With the way we play, spending £10m on a forward player is like pouring perfume on a pig.

Really hoping this the start of some changes in Pardew too.

I think remy will change our shape and change our way of attack if he joins. I don't think he will be upfront unless Cisse is rule out of a game but will play in forward three with Ben Arfa and Marveux.

    Something like this:

                    Cisse

    Ben Arfa  Marveux  Remy

              Cabaye  Tiote

All the 3 players behind Cisse would be interchangeable, Remy would also be able to drop into Cisse's location if and when needed.

    Where will Jonas play?

Thats the whole point, I'd drop him. He doesn't offer any sort of final ball, he's good for running with the ball out of defence but for creativity he is shocking.

I agree BUT we all know Pardew won't drop him

  9. Remy aside I think any of our in comings will be defenders, unless the M'Vila and Sissoko stories have some truth in them.

I must admit that if we got Remy in then out of M'Vila and Sissoko I'd rather have M'Vila, Tiote is surely a matter of time away from being sold and M'Vila would be a direct replacement, where as Sissoko would be competing with Ben Arfa, Marvuex, Remy, Jonas, Obertan, and Sammy for a place out of 3 positions.

I kind of feel sorry for Anita, because he's starting to look a decent buy now, but not in central midfield, I think it's too much for him but he seems more suited to the RB where we have just bough Debuchy.

How would Sissoko be competing with them? Completely different type of player to them

I personally would want Sissoko over M'Vila because he can grab the team and drive it forward (Yaya) and we certainly could do with that
