  2. He has ended up on the bench cos he has been getting injured Don't be so ridiculous, man. Injuries have only been a problem for him in the last year, prior that he's was relatively robust. aye and that is why the seasons prior to that he played 27, 31 and 27 league games - so he didnt really end up on the bench "because of his inability to learn" Souness, Roeder, Allardyce and Kinnear generally picked central defensive partnerships that didn't include him. Roeder had him mostly at FB, Kinnear quickly discovered that he wasn't up to it, as did Souness who even bought Boumsong because of it. Allardyce had him 4th choice behind Faye, Cacapa and Rozenhal. They can't all be wrong. Hughton only started him last season because there was no alternative. If they all think he is crap then I think it is safe to say he isnt Allardyce and Kinnear didnt rate Enrique either - so much so Kinnear was prepared to swap enrique for McManus Keegan seemed to rate Taylor and he certainly featured in his side

  5. Not so long ago people were talking about him as one of England's most promising CBs. I don't think he's world class, but he's a good asset to the squad and probably as good as Williamson TBH. I don't think he is world class either - when he first came into the side I thought he could have been world class BUT his game seems to have stagnated (probably due to playing alongside poor defenders and in a poor team, both on and off the pitch) - still he is a good defender and I think given a chance he will show that
  6. I don't get the stick that Taylor gets - people make it out like he is a shit defender when that is far from the case
  7. Not the best day for him BUT he will be back
  8. Crap - been a disaster Ah well - look forward to the Chelsea match
  9. Fair play to the Mackems - great result which they fully deserved
  10. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/162602/Andy-Carroll-should-quit-Newcastle/
  11. A draw at best - every time I have expected a win we have fucked up
  12. It was a horrible mistake BUT it happens - he has been immense for us so dont want to dwell on it I do hope he can forget about it and carry on with his excellent performances - there is always a worry after a mistake like that a players confidence falling to pieces
  13. If we play 4-4-2 long term, a holding player isn't essential. It will be interesting to see what Guthrie and gosling provide us. Part of why Tiote has been so crucial is because of Nolan's inadequacies. A holding player is essential if Nolan is playing in central midfield as well, which seems like he will be doing unless injury arises
  14. Tiote is the most crucial player - we would be fucked without him, Alan Smith playing is just After Tiote it is Carroll that is most important
  15. I think any defender would have struggled in that mess of a team we had back then - it was a shambles Delighted we kept him and he has shown that he is a class act
  16. Howay man Mensah is the best centre back in the league :mackems:
  17. I dont like getting players names on my shirt BUT I think I will make an exception for Tiote
  18. Seems like dropping a division helped a few players BUT none moreso than Coloccini - he did struggle in his first season, which wasnt that unusual considering the mess the team was in BUT since then he has been immense - the Championship was frankly too easy for him and he has been top class this season as well
  19. They really are a bunch of pricks - it is well mint laughing at them, us beating Arsenal has increased their delusion - long may it continue
  20. and then the ball to Carroll was class as well
  21. Another amazing performance from Wor Tiote It is no coincidence that our 3 away wins have come with this man having an immense game - top class A bargain at £3.5 Million
  22. Brrilliant performance and a brilliant result Every single player gave it their all Credit to Hughton, the gameplan ruined Arsenal's usual style of play - was nice to see them resort to aimless long balls in the second half
