Off to the match in a bit - need the 3 points
HOWAY THE LADS

Shearer calling David Silva on MOTD twice was
-
Not at all, if Wednesday was anything to go by.
Very much don't agree with Geordie Ahmed.
I thought he displayed a great desire to get the ball when it was in his general vicinity. He closed down really well with a lot of very quick movements and went in pretty hard even when he shouldn't have.
I didnt watch the match so cant comment on that
Though I watched the reserves against Chelsea and he didnt offer much support to Newton - though he was playing out of position at RM
I do like the look of him and he seems to have some quality about him - reckon it might be worth sending him out on loan for a little while
-
Aye Williamson seriously needs to stop holding players - he got away with a fair bit against Everton
-
He seemed fairly quick when he won the ball and advanced into the Chelsea box
-
Krul will be fine - the problem will be if he gets injured
-
He seems like the kind of player that will be awesome going forward BUT not do a great deal when the opposition has the ball
A luxury player like Riquelme if you like
-
After Shola's performance maybe it is worth going 4-4-2
BUT doubt very much we will see a changed side from the Everton match
-
Dave was that programme show much of our team our was it just focued on Man U, the brazilians and barca?
its repeated again tonight so might try and catch it when i get in from work.
We hardly featured - they showed a couple of goals by Adam Campbell, a very short interview with him (about 10 seconds) then showed us missing a pen against colo colo in the QF
-
Next round is w/c 25th October BTW.
Just before the Mackem game
Yup...does that change anything for anyone?
I guess we will have to wait closer to the time - if we put some distance between us and 18th spot then maybe we should go for it - though it will depend on what team we get

Perch is banned is he not?
Nope - was banned for Chelsea match
-
Playing Ryan Taylor against Etherington is suicide, he'll get done for pace over and over. Perch is quick and seems to be strong at making recovery tackles, this type of match is suited perfectly to Perch's game.
Perch's positioning is shocking - Etherington will destroy both of them, at least Taylor offers us something going forward
-
When is the next round played?
-
1-1
The changes from the Everton side would be Krul to start and Raylor in place of Perch
-
Get the fuck in
Awesome result and sounds like it was a class performance as well
Hope we can get a decent home tie next
-
Resting Carroll is a must - seems to just about make it for the games as it is - he is needed for the Stoke game
-
I would rest the key players as Sundays game is more important
-
That was a canny game - I missed the first goal
We played very well and were overall the better side - need to sort that final ball out
That free kick by Dummett was criminal and ultimately led to the Chelsea winner - don't know what he was thinking
Newton you could tell was playing out of position, struggled a bit and the chelsea left sided players had some pace - also with Vuckic playing ahead of him he didnt get the support he needed
Campbell put in some quality slide tackles BUT he still looked a bit off the pace
Kadar was solid, played well at left back and even when he moved into the middle
Vuckic struggled in the 1st half, should not play down the right BUT towards the end of the game he was looking quality - came close to scoring a stunning half volley, just going wide
Donaldson had a good game - missed his goal BUT he played well
McLaughlin was okay - seems to have a bit of quality about him BUT gave the ball away at daft times though and seems a little on the soft side
Ferguson was good, is quick and has some tricks, put in some decent crosses
Edmundson seems canny, has a good touch and some pace
Ranger played well BUT he needs to make decisions quicker at times, holds onto the ball too long - is a real handful and put the Chelsea defenders under lots of pressure
-
Anybody going tonight?
I will be going
-
I think he will go with an unchanged side - I hope im wrong because Alan Smith should not be starting
-
Jonas can't cross and he can't shoot - we have known that for some time now BUT he is certainly not shit, far from it
I don't think he played particularly well, needed to make his decisions a bit quicker BUT it's just 1 game - no need to overreact and make it out like he is rubbish
-
I see Lua Lua scored for Brighton and a clean sheet for Fraser Forster.
Looking on their forums the Celtic fans seem to already want Forster on a permanent deal and the Brighton fans are giving LuaLua 9+ out of 10 for his last match.
Good start for the both of them. Was it a season long loan for both of them?
Season long for Forseter, 4 months for Lua Lua

Looked promising - needed to come on much earlier
Should start the next game

Should have taken Nolan off
