The late tackle on a player whose got his shot away is one of those weird conventions in football. It'll take someone* getting a nasty injury and they will look at it imo. It's also when you're particularly vulnerable as the striker.
I'm guessing that they take a lenient view because heroic last ditch tacklesand blocks look spectacular as fuck and maybe they don't want to discourage them??
* I mean someone actually good obviously. I was on the receiving end of this once, sprained my ankle ligaments and needed crutches for a couple weeks. Alas school lunchtime football was never going to change the world.
I agree about it being a weird convention but strangely Arsenal got a penalty for that against City this season, Nketiah got his shot away and was caught by Ederson (not anywhere close to the way Longstaff was caught) and a penalty was given

Took it off him due to the deflection. Which is completely absurd.Even more so when you see that Kane gets an assist for the Porro goal

If he's so concerned why is he not asking for the Manchester City takeover to be re-examined or the Chelsea takeover to be looked at, Boely has spent £600m in less than a year, that's unprecedented
What we've done is smart and sensible, if anything, our ownership model/approach should be lauded by all
-
What he did for the 4th goal was just absurd and I just can't stop myself from watching it over and over again
I was chuffed when we signed him as when the takeover happened him and Merino were the two I wanted us to sign
It's crazy to think the way he's going that £63m is going to end up being an absolute bargain

Filth from Isak

Ah man, clean sheet gone.
We concede some sloppy goals
-
Lush that was finish
And that's why Howe started him, the gaffer knows
-
Hopefully Howe has ripped into them cos that half wasn't good enough
-
Phew, a let off there
-
VAR going to screw us?
-
Class from Joelinton

This game has been so devoid of quality. When we do well in moments it ends in such a terrible pass
-
We've been so sloppy, struggling with simple passes
We need to calm down and not try to match their frenetic style
-
We've been so sloppy, need to wake up
-
We have a game in 3 days so a little rotating makes sense

You could argue Brighton have been much more consistent than Liverpool.
I'm just pointing out the worst case scenario which some seem to absolutely revel in.
In both scenarios we need fluff our lines regardless of anyone else's form.
They have been but I think recent form is a better indicator than looking at the full season
I absolutely agree with the last point, if Liverpool (or even Brighton) make 4th then it means we or Man-U have dropped off quite significantly

If Brighton win all of their games they can still hit 73 points, if we're worrying about the absolute worst case scenario.
Brighton have a much tougher run in than Liverpool
They have Man-U, Arsenal, Us, City and Villa, highly likely they drop points, they'll finish below Liverpool

I do not fear Liverpool, who are ropey at the back and ekeing out wins with set pieces.
If you do fear them, note that they will not catch our goal difference with the single goal wins they are having.
7 goals is absolutely nowt in terms of GD, a game or two can easily change that
I'm not saying that Liverpool will overtake us but I don't think we necessarily have the GD edge because if Liverpool win all their games as some expect then there won't be much in it in terms of GD*
*Though hopefully we can change that by getting a couple of comprehensive wins against Everton and Southampton

It's absolutely rubbish. It's basically Man City's league to lose every single year and only a Herculean effort is enough to result in something otherwise. Yeah I hate Liverpool and ManU but at least they're 'real.' Man City are just nothingness. Just this boring entity that keeps winning basically no matter what.
I think whenever Pep leaves (hopefully soon) we will see a drop off from them, not to the extent they won't challenge but not be as relentless as they are

Who was it on here telling me Man City weren’t capable of putting a run together after the Chelsea game? And now here we are… ?
That might have been me but I'm clutching to the fact I did say 10+ games and so far it's only 7 in the league, we'll talk again in 4 games time

Who is the fucking wopper on comms? Its a fucking blatant pen, he bats it in to the ground.
Former Liverpool player Steve McManaman

Absolute joke of a decision that

City should be 2 or 3 ahead
They need a second goal otherwise Arsenal will get back in the game

Can we get full time now please
